4 MONTHS LATER....
Lexa held on a little smile as she kept looking at her face in the mirror, as Miss Daizie her school assistant applied the final touches of makeup on her face.
"You look dazzling my lady!!" Valerie squealed as she gently rubbed Lexa's shoulders smiling broadly at her. "Now let's go get that award" she added as she helped Lexa stand to her feet.
______
The second class honours goes to 25 final year students here present..."Miss Hillary....." Lexa's mind begins to fade away from the whole occasion as the Registrar of the school continues to award the students.
"Her Royal Highness, Princess Valerie Briggs!" The Registrar announced, the whole school clapped and cheered as Lexa's attention is drawn back. She claps and hugged Valerie who was sitted by her side as the young princess got up to the stage to receive her award.
The other awardees were called upon and and awarded as Lexa stared absentmindedly at the whole event.
"The first class Honours of Trinity College.." The Registrar started with a smile on his face as he adjusted his glasses.
"Goes to...Miss Lexa Raynolds !!!" The Registrar announced with a yell as the whole school screamed in Jubilation and overwhelming excitement.
Lexa who's mind has been absent from the event came back to reality with a shock as she heard loud screams from both her best friend and the whole school. She stood in total confusion as two door supervisors "bouncers" came to accompany her to the front of the hall. Dressed in a purely long magnificent silver dress, a silver purse and matching six inches heels, Lexa walked down majestically to the front of the hall where she was been worn her convocation gown and given a fine award as she smiled and shook hands with the school managements. A sense of satisfaction, pride and fulfilment overwhelmed her as she smiled uncontrollably, this has got to be one beautiful victory and a little escape from her bizarre reality recently. She stood and took pictures with the Provost and Chancellor of the school as she sighted Cameron and her parents from afar who kept cheering, waving and clapping for her.
As the day slowly came to an end, the school management hosted an honorable excellence and farewell celebration for Lexa and other awardees. The event was successful, and as the weeks went by, Lexa's stay in Trinity College began to come to an end as she made preparation to go back home and tackle her problems.
Valerie and Lexa promised to always keep in touch with each other and visit each other occasionally when they find time. Valerie assures Lexa that everything she was going through will slowly but surely come to an end and persuaded her to always carry her along every step of the way as they both parted ways to their different regions and lives.
...
Finally coming back home to face the reality of her situation which has turned to a physical nightmare, Lexa still tries to stay strong and cope with the aftermath of her situation. She goes back to feeling a profound sense of loss and heartbreak, struggling to get through without the comfort of Valerie and Jace's presence. She buries herself in her obligations but the emptiness inside of her remains palpable.
Jace on the other hand, is equally devastated and heartbroken. He throws himself into his work, using it as a distraction from his heartache. He lost contact with Lexa who's cell phone was taken away from her and replaced with a new sim. After some months of loosing complete contact with each other, he began to slowly catch a little glimpse of her after she finally returned from school. He watches her entering her family's car, dressed beautifully for different functions with a sad smile across his face as he watches her from his balcony. Despite his pain, he remains determined to change his circumstances, motivated by the hope that he might one day reunite with Lexa even though it seems impossible.
Lexa is forced to attend numerous social events and gatherings with Cameron. She puts on a brave face, fake cheerful smile, but her heart belongs somewhere else. Cameron, oblivious to her feelings continues to charm her family, and the state, unaware of the internal pain and struggle Lexa is facing.
Lexa writes letters to Jace that she never sends as a way of venting and pouring out her heart. She hides them in a box under her bed, clinging to the memories of the times they spent together. These unsent letters become a source of hope and a symbol of her unspoken love and unfulfilled dreams.
She struggles to get by everyday with the hope of a better future as she tries to scale every moment with good memories. She continues to confined in Valerie who in turn always calls to reassure and spend time with Lexa.
Lexa gradually begins to rebel against her parents. She secretly keeps a locket Jace gave her, wearing it close to her heart. She also continues to Sketch, finding solace in her art, even though her father disapprove of her spending time on such 'frivolous' activities.
The Raynolds and Edwardos family, starts their planning of an extravagant engagement party for their young starts. Invitations are been sent out to all the men and women of affluence, high positions, the rich and wealthy families in the country and outside the country.
Lexa feeling depressed and shattered still resolves to attend the event with her head held high, despite her anguish and turmoil inside her.
