Chapter 24 - CHAPTER 24: BUILDING AN AI (PART ONE)

Wallace woke up that morning. A new week started, and it was the last week of the second month since he arrived in this world. These two months had changed his life a lot. He hadn't been out for almost two weeks, so he wanted to go out and try his newly improved strength on beasts outside. But first, there were some things he needed to do. He needed to forge a new set of armor for himself. Since the mecha would be useless soon, except for its defense, it would even weigh him down because it was too big. He needed to build something that would clearly be in the range of his body size, though he might have to alter it a little so that his body size wouldn't be known.

What he needed to build was something that would be able to cover his features while also enabling him to fly. He simply thought about an outfit back from Earth and knew that it was what would be perfect for him at the moment. The first thing should be getting the material needed for the special suit he would be needing. Then, he went to the kitchen and prepared something for himself to eat before he returned to his room and held onto two mana stones.

Mana stones can also be used for cultivation, and they are far more efficient than absorbing mana from the air. It's what most mages use for cultivation, and also those from magical families. He closed his eyes and slept as he sank into the dreamscape before he started to refine the mana stone. Tendrils of mana burrowed into his mage root and went towards his mana vessel. Without knowing how much time had passed, the stones turned into dust, and he felt a faint headache at the same time. He exited the dream world and looked at the amount of mana in his body.

Doing a rough calculation, he knew it would take him close to a hundred mana stones to break through to rank 20. At the rate he was cultivating, he would be able to break through to rank twenty within two months. Any mage here would simply want to kill him from envy. One has to know that even a talented mage will take close to six months to break through to rank ten, and their mana will shrink by ten times. At that time, not only will the mana they have to refine be more than before, but the time it will take for them to absorb it will be more than before because the volume of the mana will increase.

Taking just two months to break through from rank eleven to rank twenty is something unheard of in the mage world. Wallace didn't take it to mind as he checked the time, and it was already noon. He went back to his forging room; there were a lot of things he had to do. The first one was forging a new suit for himself, then he had to start building the AI robot for himself, not without building their core first.

He already had a lot of ideas about how to build the core of the AI robot, but first things first, he had to build a suit that would be good enough for him. He took out the sketch he had made before and smiled as he summoned his two blood-refined hammers. The hammers were purple in color, and each of them weighed over four hundred kg. The weight was not a problem for him again because ordinarily his strength was at four hundred kg, and coupled with the three times boost from his internal energy, his strength was over a thousand kg now.

He took out a dark metal. This was the dark ore. It was a metal that was best suited for armor. He took out half a kg of it that he had weighed before. He was just forging a body armor for himself, so just ten kg should be okay for him. The half kg should be for his right arm.

"Bang, Bang, Bang" Within ten hits, he had successfully refined the dark ore, and within another thirty hits, he successfully performed extreme refinement on the ore. A dark light rose over five meters into the air before it stopped. He tossed it to one side before he took out another dark metal and successfully refined it.

This continued until he had refined over fifteen metals. It only took him two hours to perform the refinement and extreme refinement on the fifteen metals. He left the forging room and went to the dining room before he brought out his laptop and brought out what looked like a box. He then took out five white crystals that had lines over them. This was the memory crystal he requested from Robert earlier.

The memory crystal can be used to store information for later use. It's a useful crystal in this world, but it's limited, so only a limited amount of it is available to mages. After reading about its function, Wallace found another use for it. He felt that it was a waste for this crystal to be used just for recording. Back on Earth, a core artificial intelligence had been built by the federation named Snail. This core artificial intelligence was in the form of a brain through which phones and other devices connect to. To put it in simple terms, it was the artificial intelligence that powered the whole of Earth.

He was working towards something like that, and the material used back on Earth was not as good as this memory crystal. Even though he couldn't build something of that scale yet, at least five memory crystals wouldn't be able to suffice for it. He could still build an artificial intelligence that was available anywhere there was mana. Since the mana here was used for most things, and the AI back on Earth depended on satellites, he didn't need satellites. Why were satellites used? Because it was something that could connect to every part of the planet, but here, there was something that could easily connect to every part of the planet, so the mana was what he would use.

He would build a core control system that would be able to connect with some intermediate auxiliary systems, and as time went on, he would add more memory crystals, and he would be able to connect with more auxiliary systems until it got to the future where his auxiliary systems would be everywhere. He simply couldn't help but thank his stars that he had dabbled into engineering and learned a lot about it back on Earth. It was simply what was helping him now.

The runes he placed on the memory crystal only had a function - amplification effect. He didn't need to put a mana rune on it because the crystal absorbed a little bit of mana to sustain itself. The amplification boosted its ability to utilize mana, so it wouldn't only sustain itself, but it would also be able to carry out a series of complicated programs while also having a multiplying effect when other memory crystals were added to it.

He brought out the control core. The control core was built from magneto board and extreme refined silver metal. The board was what was used to build most phones and laptops because it had a special trait - it was a metal that could affect the electromagnetic force of a place. It was what allowed fairly long-range passing of information to be possible. It was a metal that could affect the electromagnetic force of the planet, and the electro force of the planet itself was mana.

It was what was used as the motherboard of phones, laptops, and other communication systems. It was something that was widely available. Wallace simply merged the board together to form a network of complicated brain-shaped motherboards. Something that wasn't on this planet because of their limited technology. If it were Earth that occupied this planet, they would have gone far in their artificial intelligence system because they didn't need to connect to satellites.

There was inexhaustible mana in every part of the planet that not only contained magical force but also contained electromagnetic force, which was an important factor in building artificial intelligence. These people could only use the board in its most simple way by using a small portion of it to make phones, laptops, and other communication systems. He fused many magneto boards together to form this gigantic brain-like structure.

The structure had thousands of circuit cores that were embedded with mana transfer amplification runes, so the transfer of mana through them would be very fast. The last factor that was just required was a mother control point that would activate it, and that's where the memory crystal came in. The memory crystal would act as their core, and to start it, he needed at least five memory crystals. He placed the structure in the box that was connected to his laptop. He started his process of coding on the laptop while the code was being transferred to the structure.
