Chapter 29 - CHAPTER 29: ACCEPTING A GODMOTHER

Wallace woke up the following morning full of energy. He had now fully recovered from his injuries, so the next thing he had to do was cultivate and kill beasts like crazy to undergo his second evolution. It was already the third day of the week, so by the end of the week, he should be able to amass enough blood essence to break through to rank four and undergo his second evolution. He couldn't help but shiver when he thought about the amount of pain he had to endure during the first evolution. If it were before his encounter two days ago, he would have hesitated to undergo the second evolution so fast, but after the encounter, he knew that his strength was what could make him safe in this world, and the probability of him dying should be low. At that time, not only would his body undergo evolution, but his body would also be able to generate more qi and store it.

"Master, you have a new message from Lucy," Echo informed him.

He looked at the screen and saw the content. "Meet me at the mage association at noon."

After cultivating for the day, Wallace was able to break through to rank 12 mage. It was noon already, and he remembered his meeting with Lucy. He walked into the mage association and went directly to the second floor, where her office was. The door automatically opened after it sensed him, and he entered. He saw Lucy in the office along with a middle-aged lady. He felt no mana fluctuation from the lady and thought that she must just be a normal lady.

"Good afternoon," he greeted.

"This is my master," Lucy said.

Wallace's eyes widened; he knew that Lucy had a master who was the assistant dean of the mage academy, one of the supreme magus in the city. A supreme magus was standing before him, one of the ultimate pillars of humanity.

"Good talent, you've really found yourself a good seedling," the lady said after she scanned Wallace up and down.

"His future is definitely limitless."

Lucy gave a knowing smile but couldn't help but be surprised in her heart. This was the first time her master had given someone such a sky-high evaluation.

"Thank you for your compliment," he said humbly.

"No need for modesty, you have the talent," the lady said.

"But talent without strength is nothing and is even bound to attract hatred, so I know the importance of being modest," he answered.

The lady laughed out loud. "Such an interesting seedling, I really can't wait for you to enroll in the mage academy."

Seeing the conversation between her master and her disciple and how her master was laughing out loud, Lucy's lips twitched. "It's okay, you two will still get to know yourselves in the future; let's talk about the more pressing matter," she said, and the two stopped talking. The atmosphere in the office turned solemn once more.

"If it were before, I would still doubt what the little guy said," Samantha (Lucy's master) said.

"But days ago, Australia and three more medium empires on the Sea God continent fell to the vampires' attack, and it's even said that they've taken control over the Hydra royal family."

Wallace and Lucy's expressions turned grim; he did not expect the situation to have already degraded to this extent. There were three main continents controlled by the three empires. The Aslan continent was controlled by the Aslan Empire, the Sea God continent was controlled by the Hydra Empire, and the Beast God continent was controlled by the Fex Empire. Each of the three planets had the main empire and divisions of medium-grade empires that they ruled, while the medium-grade empire ruled the low-grade empire. For a whole continent to already fall under the control of the empire showed how grim the situation was.

"The Hydra family surrendered themselves because these new sets of people have extreme strength comparable to archaic beasts, and they also have mysterious blood magic. They are said to be the perfection of human genes," Samantha explained.

"What stupid perfection," Wallace heard the long-gone voice in his head and was startled a bit but did not say anything because of the gravity of the situation.

"The Empire has already turned their name to the Blood Empire, and within some months, they have killed countless humans, and the worst thing is that the other two continents can't do anything about it because we don't know how far they've infiltrated the empire and also their strength; we know practically nothing about them, and they know everything about us," she said.

"What are we going to do now?" she asked.

"For now, we'll wait and see what they are up to; then the next step they take will determine our next step. We've fallen into their rhythm," she said.

"But no matter what, it's not something for you youngsters

"But no matter what, it's not something for you youngsters to worry about. The situation in the Blood Empire is not stable yet, so they'll require at least three years to stabilize themselves and five years before they can start launching a full-force attack on us. By then, the two empires would have come together, and we'll be able to fight them. We just need to deal with their force hidden in the shadows and know more about them so that we'll initiate the attack," Samantha said.

"Hmm," the two nodded their heads.

"No problem, but for you to be able to withstand their attack, your combat ability must be astonishing. It shows that your magic is not the strongest ability about you," Samantha said to Wallace.

Wallace's face could not help but change as he admired the lady; she could just make a random guess, and the guess was on point. There's no choice; he has to reveal his astonishing physical prowess or his space and time affinity, but the physical prowess is what he will reveal. The space-time ability will be his greatest secret and trump card. At least if she knows about his physical prowess, with her backing, he won't have to worry about anything.

"My physical prowess is very strong enough to put me in the mid-range of a rank forty magico," he answered.

Samantha's face changed when she heard what Wallace said. A rank 10 mage being able to match the physical prowess of a rank 40 mage was something only present amongst those archaic magical beast species. She arrived in front of Wallace and held his hand; Wallace felt a cooling energy seep into his body.

"Two hearts that are each pumping a vigorous bloodline through his body. The first one is the human bloodline that has been enhanced, while the second one is an unknown bloodline but carries immense fluctuation of spiritual force. Your skeleton is bizarre, and immense mental energy is barely at the psyche beginner realm. Mage root that is one hundred percent pure," Wallace's body was covered with cold sweat the more she spoke because everything was on point.

"This world's mage is very terrifying," he thought.

Samantha, on the other hand, could not help but be massively surprised when she saw Wallace's internal structure. His skeleton that had one thousand bones, his bloodline that carried immense physical strength and immense spiritual energy. That's not the most terrifying thing; his mage root was the most perfect mage root she had seen, and his spiritual power was…

"You're a monster in human skin," she just could not help but talk as she looked at Wallace's body that was drenched in sweat, and the latter looked at her worriedly.

"Don't worry, in this planet amongst humans, I'm the only one that can see everything because I'm a healing class mage. Other mages, no matter how strong they are, will just know that you're extraordinary but won't be able to glimpse your secret," she said, and his worries finally calmed down.

"I must say that you are perfect. You are blessed by the heavens; if nothing happens, you will definitely break through to the supreme magus realm," she said.

Lucy's face also changed; she had quite a high opinion of Wallace, but she thought that he had the most probability of breaking through to the magus realm, but it was slim. Listening to what her teacher said, she could not help but be surprised.

"In just some decades, Midgar will be blessed with another supreme magus," she could not help but laugh heartily.

"Master, won't you take him in?" Lucy said.

"No, I don't wish to take in any disciple, and to break through the magus realm for everyone is different. He has to endure the hardship along the way so that he will build his disposition. We supreme magus are constantly looking for ways to break through so that we can sense the divine realm, so for him to even have the slightest probability, he has to build everything from scratch," she said.

"However, I can't just leave this good seedling; I will take you in as my godson since I don't have any child yet," she said.

Lucy's face beamed; if Wallace could become Samantha's godson, he didn't need to worry about his backing. He simply had the strongest backing, having a supreme magus behind him. He would be able to do a lot of things without worrying about the backlash from others or even the empire. The empire couldn't control a supreme magus itself.
