Chapter 11 - Ming Yue

Han Jun opened his eyes slowly and found himself in a bizarre place filled with fog. "Where am I?" he asked himself, taking a step forward. Just as he moved, he was suddenly thrown forward by an unseen force, landing steadily on something. "What is going on?" he murmured, and his gaze fixed on a particular direction. His eyes widened when he saw a multicolored long-haired man lying on the ground with an ice dagger embedded in his chest. The man stared at a figure with horror etched across his face.

Curious, Han Jun followed the direction in which the peerless handsome man was looking and saw an exquisite beauty dressed in all blue with a majestic crown atop her head. She stood there, coldly gazing at the multicolored handsome man. His heart began to race, and his shock grew more intense.

"Isn't she the one we saw in the ice coffin?" he murmured to himself.

Suddenly, the multicolored handsome man, who was lying in a pool of blood, spoke. His voice was deep and thick, filled with power and oppression. "Ming Yue, why? What did I do wrong?" His voice revealed his heartbreak, and his colorful eyes, which shifted shades as he blinked, shed crystal tears.

"You did nothing wrong... I am just tired of your presence," the peerless beauty named Ming Yue replied emotionlessly. Without hesitation, she flew towards him and ended the man's life with her ice dagger, plunging it deep into his heart.

Surprisingly, the handsome man neither groaned nor screamed in pain; a smile graced his lips as he slowly closed his eyes.

"I know you have power and some other means to survive. That's why I won't give you the opportunity," Ming Yue's cold voice echoed again as she began summoning ice flowers. "Freeze his soul!" she commanded, and the flowers rushed towards the handsome man.

Just as the flowers were about to reach him, they suddenly caught fire in mid-air. A blur of six figures appeared, their faces indistinct. Two of the figures stepped forward, shielding the handsome man.

"I never expected this from you, Ming Yue!" a hear-piercing female voice echoed, revealing the speaker's anger.

Ming Yue chuckled. "You still found me," she replied devilishly. "You made a huge mistake by coming here!"

"You are crazy, Ming Yue! How could you do this to him?" a gentle but choked voice came from another lady, revealing that she had likely cried her eyes out.

"Don't blame me, ladies... I wanted to free you all from him!" Ming Yue laughed loudly, her voice filled with madness.

"Free us!" a familiar, angered voice broke out from behind.

Han Jun was surprised and looked at the owner of the voice. Her face was blurry, but that green hair caught his attention. "Ling Wei?" he frowned, taking a closer look and noticing that the lady's green hair had faint white mixed in it. "Is she Ling Wei?" he asked himself.

"Free us, you say! Trust me, this mistake of yours can never be forgiven!" the familiar, angry voice shouted.

"Stop talking already... take his body and hide somewhere," a voice advised to the angered figure.

"You all should take care of yourselves," the familiar voice replied, rushing toward the handsome man's body, ready to escape.

"No!" Ming Yue screamed, flying after the familiar voice to stop her, but another blurry figure intercepted her.

"You are already... out of it!" the figure warned, then attacked Ming Yue, forcing her backward and creating an opportunity for the owner of the familiar voice to vanish.

"Noooooo!" Ming Yue screamed at the top of her lungs, her voice so powerful that it forced Han Jun's consciousness back into his body.

Suddenly, Han Jun opened his eyes, breathing heavily and gasping for air. "What was that? Whose memories were those? Is this a glimpse into the past, as the book informed me?" He thought to himself.

"Han Jun, you are finally awake!" Shu Fang's anxious voice sounded beside him, snapping him back to reality.

Han Jun looked at Shu Fang and, in that moment, something clicked in his memory. He turned and spotted the frozen Ling Wei lying motionless beside him. "Wei Wei!" he called, but there was no response.

Suddenly, the calm ice coffin began to glow, its cover opening slowly as the beautiful lady inside was lifted into the air.

Shu Fang and Han Jun watched in bewilderment, their attention fixated on the peerless beauty now suspended horizontally above them.

The air in the palace grew colder, sending chills through their bodies while the surrounding atmosphere shimmered.

The lady in the air moved her eyes before finally opening them. Her enchanting blue eyes sparkled in the light, capable of melting even the coldest heart.

She was beautiful enough to cause a nation to fall if her eyes were to ever close; now, with her eyes open, she could bring about the downfall of the entire world.

She blinked twice to adjust to the brightness and shifted her gaze to the left, landing on the young and handsome Han Jun. Shock washed over her as she flew down, her glass heels kissing the icy floor, creating a melodious sound with each step."Han Jun?" Her voice was sweet and melodious, gentle and calm—she was the complete opposite of the vision that had been shown to Han Jun. "Han Jun, is it really you?" she asked, taking two steps forward, her heels continuing to release a melodious sound as they hit the icy floor.

"What on earth is going on? Can someone explain what is happening here to me?" Han Jun thought to himself, staring dumbly at the beauty that approached him. "She was the one that killed that man. Is she trying to trap me?" He instinctively grabbed Ling Wei's frozen body and flew backward. "Stay away!" he shouted, sending her a killer glare.

Upon seeing the frozen Ling Wei in Han Jun's embrace, the beauty suddenly smiled—a smile that radiated happiness and joy. It came from the depths of her heart and added to her beauty, making her even more captivating. "It's really you, Han Jun!" She suddenly appeared before him and took his hand. "Han Jun, it's me, Ming Yue," she introduced herself excitly.

As soon as Ming Yue touched Han Jun's arm, a rush of images flooded his mind.

"Why?" the multicolored-haired man asked softly, blood already staining the corner of his mouth.

"Nothing... I'm just tired of your presence," Ming Yue replied with an evil smile on her lips. She raised her snow sword and plunged it deep into the multicolored-haired man's heart.

Han Jun slapped Ming Yue's hand away and took another step backward, feeling as if his head was spinning after slamming it against a hard surface. "Stay away from me!" he shouted in agony, his voice deep and majestic, forcing Ming Yue to take a few steps back.

"Han Jun, listen..." Ming Yue's voice choked with emotion, tears welling up in her eyes. "I'm not the one that hurt you. Please listen; I love you more than anything. I can't bear to hurt you." Ice tears streamed from her blue eyes as she flew toward him once again, grabbing his arm.

The pain Han Jun was experiencing felt like an inferno. The more he heard Ming Yue's voice, the more his heart ached painfully and beat faster. With each touch, the image of Ming Yue killing the multicolored-haired handsome man replayed relentlessly in his mind, driving him mad. "I said get away from me!" he shouted, pushing Ming Yue away with all his strength, forcing her to fall heavily onto the icy floor. His head throbbed with agony, and he nearly dropped Ling Wei's frozen body in the process.

"Han Jun, please listen!" Ming Yue implored, her voice trembling as she attempted to approach him, but a large sword suddenly crossed her path.

"Are you planning to hunt him down? Can't you see that he is experiencing immense pain?" Shu Fang's voice rang with anger as she rushed to Han Jun's side, supporting him with her body.

Ming Yue's tears fell like shards of ice, each drop glistening as it hit the floor. She watched Han Jun slowly calm down with Shu Fang's help, and her heart felt heavy with sorrow. Her gaze shifted to the frozen Ling Wei, and a flicker of hope ignited within her. "Ice of life, unfreeze her," she murmured softly, and two ice beads escaped her fingers, darting toward Ling Wei.

The ice beads moved so swiftly that even Shu Fang didn't detect them in time—much less Han Jun, whose mind was just beginning to return to normal.

The beads struck Ling Wei's back and entered her body.

"What have you done to her?" Han Jun's voice was laced with fury, and he was ready to attack Ming Yue if she gave him the wrong answer.

Ming Yue lowered her head, her silky blue hair cascading down to shield her face. She looked pitiful right now.

Han Jun wasn't moved by her and prepared to lunge at her when he suddenly noticed that Ling Wei's frozen body was beginning to warm. A joyful smile spread across his face as he tenderly caressed Ling Wei's face. "Wei Wei..." His voice softened, filled with affection.

Hearing the warmth of that affection, Ming Yue lifted her head, locking her gaze with Han Jun's. Emotion flooded her eyes, revealing a mixture of hope and regret. Tears streamed down her face even more, and she clenched her fists tightly, biting her celestial lower lip to stifle a sound of despair.
