Chapter 12 - Dere to trick this goddess

Ling Wei slowly opened her eyes as her temperature returned to normal. "Han Jun!" A happy smile appeared on her face as she hugged him tightly. "I thought I wouldn't see you again," she murmured.

"That's impossible... you will never leave me. Not until I want you to leave," Han Jun replied, returning Ling Wei's hug.

Tears streamed down Ming Yue's face as she listened to their conversation. "Wei Wei," she called in her gentle, sweet voice, pulling Ling Wei back to reality.

Hearing the familiar voice, Ling Wei's eyes widened, and her body stiffened. Only now did she realize they were already inside the ice palace. Her heart raced, and she clenched her fists tightly.

Han Jun noticed Ling Wei's unease and frowned. He wanted to speak, but Ling Wei released herself from his embrace and turned to look at Ming Yue. She didn't speak, but her expression revealed her complicated feelings.

"Wei Wei... please... tell him... tell him that I never hurt him, that I never intended to hurt him, I didn't even have such intention," Ming Yue quickly spoke, her eyes pleading.

Ling Wei refused to speak and just stared at Ming Yue. Seeing that she didn't respond, Ming Yue took a step forward, intending to approach her. But before she could reach her, Han Jun grabbed Ling wei hand from behind and pulled her close to himself. "Be wary of her; she's evil. She killed that man," he said, sending Ming Yue a deadly glare.

Hearing Han Jun's comment, Ming Yue froze in place, staring at him with a shocked expression. It was as if a bucket of extremely cold water had been poured over her, draining the blood from her beautiful face.

Ling Wei was similarly affected; she stared at Han Jun with a strange gaze. "You... you don't know her?" she asked, trying to confirm her suspicion.

Han Jun cast another glance at the frozen Ming Yue before slightly shaking his head. "All I know is that she killed that man. Stay away from her in the future," he said to Ling Wei, his heart racing as he uttered those words.

Ling Wei glanced back at Han Jun. "He... doesn't recall her," she thought in shock as she looked at the astonished Ming Yue. She was now confused about what was happening. "Han Jun..." she called, looking at him. "What exactly does the man she killed look like?" she asked.

"I can only recall that he had multicolored hair, and that man..." Han Jun replied while giving Ming Yue a killer glare, "...seems to have loved her deeply."

Imaginary thunder struck in Ming Yue's heart, robbing her of all strength. She fell to the ground, her face pale. "He... forgotten?" she gasped, clutching her chest. The pain she experienced was beyond words; she was engulfed in a profound sense of loss.

Ling Wei's eyes widened in shock. "The man... did he..."

"Let's leave here," Han Jun interrupted Ling Wei, feeling his head spin slightly. He didn't want to experience that same pain again. "I don't even know why I am here in the first place," he murmured regretfully as he looked at Shu Fang. "Can you take us away?" he asked.

Shu Fang sighed. "This isn't my palace. I'm only a God-level cultivator; I'm no match against a divine being," she replied.

"A divine being?" Han Jun was clearly surprised, but that didn't lead him to view Ming Yue as a good person.

"She is already a divine being! No wonder I was powerless against her ice rope," Ling Wei mused to herself, gritting her teeth. "Always a step above, as always." She mused

Ming Yue composed herself and stood elegantly, fixing her gaze on Han Jun, who avoided her stare. "I can send you back to Harmen World, but I have a condition," she stated.

Han Jun merely looked away, indifferent to her statement, not even bothering to respond.

Seeing Han Jun's lack of interest, Shu Fang interjected, "What's your condition?"

Ming Yue's gaze remained fixed on Han Jun as she responded, "I will come along with you."

Hearing Ming Yue's request, Han Jun smirked coldly. "How bold, mistress. Tell me, do I resemble your former lover, the one you murdered? Is that why you want to kill me?" he spoke, not even sparing her a glance.

"Han Jun, how... how could you say that? Believe me, it wasn't me... think very well; you will remember something positive about me," Ming Yue insisted, taking two steps closer.

"Remember something positive about you?" Han Jun smirked. "You are making a mistake, mistress. I might share the same name with your lover that you murdered, but I am not him. Keep your distance from me," he replied, not looking at her.

Ming Yue was silent for a while before saying, "I won't let you leave if you don't agree to my condition."

Shu Fang gave Ming Yue another glance. "She is so captivating that she can capture a soul without even speaking, yet Han Jun, who seems to love beautiful ladies, isn't moved by her... no, things aren't as simple as they seem." She thought to herself and looked at Han Jun. "Han Jun agree with her. Rest assured, even though my powers are limited against her, I can still injure her if we fight. We can't stay here forever."

Hearing Shu Fang's words, Ming Yue finally spared her a glance. She didn't speak again, and her thoughts remained unknown.

"That's right, Han Jun. She certainly won't do us any harm at least for now," Ling Wei gave an assured smile.

Han Jun stared at both ladies for a while before looking at Ming Yue. Even though he had seen those images when she touched him, he didn't sense any threat from her. She was only making him feel heartache, which hurt him, and he didn't want to experience the pain of heartache again. "I will agree to your condition, but you will have to maintain your distance from me," he finally spoke.

Ming Yue wasn't satisfied, but she didn't reject his terms. "Ice portal, hear my command and open!" she murmured, and suddenly, the portal emerged from the ice floor right behind Han Jun, Ling Wei, and Shu Fang. "It's ready," she gave Han Jun a sweet smile.

Han Jun looked away immediately and took the lead in entering the portal, Shu Fang followed, and then Ling Wei and Ming Yue were remain in the palace.

"Don't force him to recall anything. Currently, he isn't complete," Ling Wei said, her back turned to Ming Yue.

"Wei Wei... you believe it wasn't me?" Ming Yue asked as she approached Ling Wei.

Ling Wei smirked. "I only believe one person in my life, and I will only believe him. Others are nothing to me." She turned to look at Ming Yue. "Don't let your thoughts run wild; I didn't stop him from coming here first because of his curiosity, and secondly, I thought he was still the same even without being complete. I thought you would once again become his most beloved bride, but alas, I have ignored the situation too far. I didn't expect the memories he would recall after seeing you to be of what you did." She smiled mockingly. "Forget the title of 'his beloved.' That was once; your position has been replaced already." Her smile widened as she flew into the portal.

Ming Yue stood there dumbfounded. "I don't care if I become his beloved again or not... I will be happy if I can just stay by his side. He hasn't recalled our past, and even if he ignores me now, I will still stand a chance when he remembers everything," she murmured before flying into the portal as well.

The ice portal descended back into the ice floor when there were no more people to enter.

*Harmen World, Harmen First City.*

An ice portal emerged from the ground, and the three people were teleported out. When everyone was out, it disappeared.

"Nowhere to go," Han Jun commented.

"What do you mean, nowhere to go?" Shu Fang asked. "Let's go to your house; I'm already exhausted."

Hearing Shu Fang's words, Ling Wei lightly rubbed her forehead while Han Jun smiled cunningly. "Dear goddess, this humble husband of yours has no home," he replied.

"What!" Shu Fang, whose face was now covered in a veil again, shouted. "You have no home? Are you kidding me?"

Ming Yue, who was some distance away from them, wanted to speak but didn't dare; she was afraid that her voice would cause Han Jun trouble.

"Don't be too surprised. You should have checked every detail about him before agreeing to be his bride," Ling Wei chuckled.

"Are you for real? I proposed the world's wealth to him, but he refused! Tell me, how was I supposed to know that he is too poor that he didn't even have a place to live when he rejected such a tempting offer?" Shu Fang shouted angrily.

"Says who that I rejected your offer? Beauty, think very straight. If I leave you and take the wealth you propose, it would eventually leave me. But you... I have you with me now. How did I reject the world's wealth, baby?" Han Jun smiled meaningfully.

Ling Wei covered her mouth in realization.

Even the low emotional Ming Yue smiled beautifully.

Shu Fang opened her eyes wider in realization, and lights gathered in her palm as she shouted, "You bastard! Dare to trick this goddess!" She unleashed the golden light toward Han Jun, sending him flying through the air.

"You fell for it; it isn't my fault!" Han Jun's voice echoed as he soared into the distance.

"Hahahaha!" Ling Wei laughed loudly.

Ming Yue covered her mouth to hide her smile.

Seeing the two ladies—one laughing and the other smiling—Shu Fang gritted her teeth and walked away, stumbling in her golden heels on the ground.

Author's note

Of course, she would be angered. A wise golden goddess like her had been tricked so easily. If word were to spread, what would people say? Wouldn't they question whether she had turned into a fool because of love? It was so annoying.
