Half the names on the list have already been crossed off.
It was just another happy day at the mansion. For these days at the mansion, it had not been bitter but sweet for Aaron.
For him, his husband wasn't mean, bad, or anything of the sort. The mansion seemed like any other normal marital home.
The maids in the house now respected him. There was no sorrow or sadness; he was just living carefully and cheerfully.
Right at this moment, he was just in his nightdress as he got up from bed and came out of his room. He wanted some water. He went down the staircase when he met his sister-in-law, Lady Anabel.
"Do you hear me right?"
Anabel was talking with the maid in a stern voice, holding a book and giving her something.
The maid, Emily, nodded her head before dismissing herself.
Aaron found it uninteresting to listen to their conversation or talk. He just planned to pretend he did not see his sister-in-law.
Who would want to talk to someone they knew didn't like them?
Of course, it was not Aaron. He planned to ignore, avoid, and pretend that he did not see her.
Although his sister-in-law might hate him...and he knew it too...getting into an argument was not on his list this morning.
This morning, his job was to be a little cutie, eat, drink, and be as fat as a pig, then wait for his husband.
"What are you doing, ignorant Senirips? Did you not see your sister-in-law? Can't you greet her?"
It was bad for Aaron.
"…Aaron."
As Anabel had already seen him, she had a disgusted expression on her face, as if Aaron were a thousand-year-old dumbbell.
Aaron sighed in his heart, thinking this was terrible. He was just trying to have a nice day with no problems or issues.
Anabel didn't like him, and he had not done anything to her. He had always avoided her, but Anabel wouldn't let him go. He wondered what she wanted.
To tell the truth, today was just the second time that Anabel had talked to him.
As before, Anabel just used to...
Flashback...
It was just another morning after coming from the woods with Kris. Before they completely left the place, they heard noises in the leaves.
"Who do you think it is?"
Aaron was almost scared and clung to Kris. Meanwhile, Kris chuckled quietly.
"Maybe it's a beast, a gargoyle, or something even worse."
Aaron wanted to beat Kris. Instead of comforting him or even petting him, his husband was there mocking him.
"You know you are too much, Kris."
Kris just smiled at him. He did not say anything else; only his eyes were still looking toward where the sounds came from.
"Who do you think it is?"
"Kris, Aaron, back. Let's go home."
Aaron frowned.
"No, let's go look. I think we should check it out."
Aaron's eyes were on the bush, and he still heard the noise. He managed to see a bit of orange, but it was little, not much.
His body was already taking him toward the place when Kris pulled him back...
