Technically, Asura was allowed to join the event as an assist NPC despite him being the supposed villain for the event.
Because for some odd reason, him being demon king and him being Asura were treated as different identities within the game, even if almost everyone knew him by that name. Which was strange but he was not going to question a loophole that he could use easily.
Well, maybe it was not a loophole and it was supposed to be used that way.
Either way, he was not going to complain that he got to join the event and pass time any time soon.
He was not allowed to do quests and what not, though he was allowed to be summoned as help by other players.
Which was exactly what he wanted.
[ITEM [EMERGENCY HELP (LEGENDARY)] IS BEING USED...]
[YOU HAVE MANAGED TO SUMMON [ASURA] AS ASSIST!]
As he landed on the ground, he turned to look who had summoned him. He did expect to see a high ranked player, but he was not expecting to see someone like her.
"Oh my~" His voice slurred, unable to hide that amusement and excitement in his tone.
The person that managed to summon him was one of the few players that were max level, which was level 90. The woman, whose name he remembered correctly for once, seemed a little confused at his presence.
"I thought I wouldn't be able to summon you..."
"Well, you learn something new every day, Gabriel." He winked.
"I feel like I shouldn't be learning about something like this."
She did not feel enough like continuing the conversation since she rather focused on the quest at hand.
[QUEST DIFFICULTY: SSS
REACH THE END OF THE DUNGEON IN 150 SECONDS
RECOMMENDED LEVEL: 70 AND ABOVE
RECOMMENDED PLAYERS: 2 AND ABOVE]
The dungeon was just a standard dungeon layout, the type of dungeon being a cursed dungeon, mainly populated by monsters such as ghosts, undead and spiders. They both naturally did have advantage in such a dungeon, since his powers were boosted by the darkness while hers boosted due to both the darkness and evil that lurked within.
"How many floors do you reckon the dungeon has?"
Even if from the outside the dungeon looked the same, not all of the layouts and monsters that spawn are the same. There was a bit more randomness to the whole dungeon, making it a little less boring to do quests or grind in.
"100 at least. They wouldn't do less than 100."
As she accepted the quest, the timer began to count down. She looked over to him, holding tightly onto her white staff in hand.
"Is it alright if I let you lead? I, uh..."
"No problem."
His signature grin appeared on his lips as he summoned his blades, his body already partially leaning forward, definitely ready to rush at the monsters. "Just keep up with me. And shout if you need anything."
"I might not hear you otherwise."
He sprinted, though he was so fast that his figure became a blur. All she knew was that he was slaying down every monster that he came across, creating a clear path ahead for her to take. She closed her eyes, using her skills to find ladders, trapdoors, holes or stairs of any kind that could lead them downwards.
"Asura, there is a trapdoor to your left! It's currently guarded by a few spiders and you need to remove the tilt first to get to it."
He did not give her any verbal response, though he quickly moved towards where she said the trapdoor would be. After slaying the monstrous spiders that were a little less large than an elephant, he kicked the loose tilt, revealing a trap door underneath. Just as she was about to reach, there was a spider that quickly came down, ready to bite onto her head.
He swung his blade at it without a second thought, then dragging her along, throwing themselves straight down the trapdoor without using the ladders.
"I would have dealt with that myself. You didn't have to help me." She complained, but her words went in and out of his ears simultaneously.
Once they landed on the ground, she quickly placed a barrier around them, protecting them from the burst of flames that erupted from the ground as they had stepped on a trap trigger. He decided to continue carrying her along, though adjusting his hold on her so he held her over his shoulder.
Which made her blush.
"Pervert!" She shouted, giving him a hit on the back with her staff.
Although all that did was make him run even faster.
He glanced over, just making sure that her white dress was not riding up too high. He rather not be labeled as an actual pervert despite the way he was holding onto her right now.
More monsters came their way, though he was mostly able to avoid them. He now only held onto one sword since his other arm was holding onto her, his new passenger. She quickly mumbled spells under her breath when the monsters came too close, clearing them out in one go since they had a major weakness to holy magic.
That did include Asura, though the spell she used could not hurt him.
"Don't tell me you didn't try to find where the other ways down were on other floors."
"I already looked through it."
She pouted, but still jerked her head to was seemed to be just a wall. "There, just go right through."
He ran right through the wall, which did seem like a solid wall, yet it was actually just an illusion. Due to the minimal lighting through the whole dungeon, it was near impossible to fully discern even simple illusions and especially when they were on a time crunch.
[QUEST TIMER: 01:48]
Luckily for them, they found a hole which led them to fall much deeper down into the dungeon. She closed her eyes and muttered spells under her breath once more, scanning over the dungeon more, finding more pathways down.
"Hold on tight!" He screamed, which made her open her eyes.
As she wondered why he would suddenly be screaming that, she noticed that there was a rather large opened jaw ready to swallow them whole. Before she could react, she was thrown up in the air, making sure that there was some distance between them.
"Make sure you already found the next way down, dearie!"
His sword very easily went through the monster's flesh, which he realized later that it just seemed like a huge, mutated fish. He made sure his blade went through its flesh first, before swinging it down so it could be sliced in half. The monster's pained wailing echoed through the area, though he had not lingered around for long.
Once he got her back into his arms, this time deciding to hold her bridal style, his grin was seemingly wider than earlier.
Gabriel could not help but feel a little uncomfortable.
"That way that way!" She shouted, not wanting to suffer under his gaze any longer.
He followed her directions, this time going straight down the hallway. His speed quickly brought them to the flight of stairs that she had sensed earlier. Instead of just doing the regular route of walking down, he instead decided that he would jump down the stairs.
It was much quicker that way, even if she was not feeling too safe in his arms.
She suddenly preferred the way he was holding onto her earlier.
"Are we close to the end yet?"
"I think so? We probably have dropped down at least 10 floors from that hole earlier."
She noticed the way her staff seemed to be glowing in the darkness, the intensity of the light was only growing more and more the lower down the stairs led them.
"Barrier?"
"Nah~ A barrier wouldn't be good for me. But you could put one on yourself if you want."
She mumbled under her breath, decided to put a barrier on herself. As they reached what seemed to be the end of the stairs, his feet landed on solid ground, which was a good sign.
[EXTRA REQUIREMENT: DEFEAT THE [GORGON] WITHIN THE REMAINING TIME]
[QUEST TIMER: 01:11]
She was let down from his arms just before the gorgon decided to turn around to meet them. She narrowed her eyes, then looked over to him.
"Are you immune to petrification?"
"Well, considering we have to finish this as quickly as possible, I'd recommend you save your mana for offensive spells instead of defensive."
He quickly summoned his other sword in his hand, lunging straight at the gorgon before it noticed him. The snakes in its hair immediately rushed towards him, either ready to strangle him or take his swords out of his hands. Though they were easily dealt with, slicing apart the snakes like he was slicing up vegetables.
She gathered her mana, deciding to pour all of her concentration and most of her mana towards the spell she wanted to unleash. Even if the gorgon wanted to redirect its attention towards her, it was way too hard, considering Asura's swords had already come its way.
"Don't get distracted while someone else is fighting you!"
His blades came too close to slashing the gorgon a few times, but the gorgon's snakes always protected it from the slashes, ensuring that it would not reach it. His grin changed into a smirk as he felt the air shift, which made the gorgon quickly glance over to her.
[SKILL ACTIVATION, [WORSHIPPER]]
[SPELL ACTIVATION, [VOWS OF THE ALL SEEING ■■■]]
The gloom, dim dungeon floor suddenly became bright, way too bright. All the gorgon could feel was its flesh searing with the growing intensity of the light, as if the light was trying to repeal and deny its existence. As it attempted to use a skill towards her, a blade came clean through its neck.
"Didn't I tell you to not get distracted?"
His grin was still obvious despite his face getting burned off, much like the gorgon. Though his self regeneration was fast enough in this state that the spell could not kill him, even if she did pour most of her mana into it.

The stench of something burning was still in the air even as his skin and flesh fully healed back to how it was. They could tell that the dungeon was crumbling, though the system would get them out of the dungeon anyways so they just decided to stand there.
He placed a hand on his waist. "I was wondering where your little companions went. Did you have a long and terrible argument with them or something?"
She was looking through her inventory as well as at the clues, though she was listening to him anyway. "Well... We decided that it would be better for us to split up for this event."
"Are the clues you get randomized or something?"
She blinked. "You... don't know that?"
"They don't tell me how the event or drops work." He shrugged.
She just nodded at his words and said not much else. She did have all of the clues gathered so she could meet back with her buddies soon. As the dungeon started to shake, debris dropping down around them, they could feel their bodies turning lighter and transparent.
"Say hi to Irena for me, would you?"
It was his turn to blink this time, but he nodded anyway. "Alright alright, I will tell her you said hi."
He flashed her his usual grin before they were both teleported away.
