Chapter 5 - 5. You Didn't Tell Me Your Name and Future plans

As he was standing away from her, he was not

able to see the girl's face very clearly. Taking a closer look, he noticed that this young

girl was not only fair and beautiful, but also had a pure, innocent temperament. She

looked like a fairytale princess, causing one to easily feel affection for her.

Damn it! This innocent girl had almost been violated by these three bastards! As Aiden

looked at her, she was also studying him. Although he had an ordinary appearance, he

emitted a mysterious presence. His eyes were as deep as the universe.

Causing anyone who stared at him to unconsciously sink into him. Are you okay? Aiden

stretched out his hand towards the girl, who sat trembling slightly on the ground. I'm

fine.

Thank you so much for saving me. Coming back to her senses, she replied in a soft voice

and accepted Aiden's outstretched hand. As their fingertips touched, their bodies

twitched slightly.

Only then did she completely come back to reality. Her heart still had lingering fear from

the prior incident. Growing up in a rather poor household, she had to work part-time at a

clothing store after school.

Today, the store held an event, so she ended up going home later than usual. In her rush

to get home, she had chosen to cut through the dark alley. However, she did not expect

that she would be so unlucky as to run into those three hooligans.

If not for Aiden also cutting through the alley, she could only imagine what might have

happened to her. She looked down at their joined hands. This was the first time in her

life she had held the hand of a man other than her father, and she flushed with

embarrassment.

As for Aiden, he indulged himself in the incomparably smooth and tender feeling of the girl's hand. For the first time in his life, he felt just how soft a woman's skin was. After

standing back up, the girl let go of Aiden's hand with a blush, causing a faint feeling of

loss to rise in her heart.

They... what should we do about them? The girl looked at the three delinquents who

were still groaning on the ground as she straightened her messy hair and pretended to

be calm. I've got this, Aiden said as the corner of his mouth curled upwards. Just leave

them to me.

He grabbed a handful of stones as he strolled nonchalantly towards the three hooligans.

Seeing the stones in Aiden's hand, the three of them acted as if they had seen the devil

and shouted, Stop! Don't come over here! Otherwise, we'll call the police! What the... he

thought. I'm already showing you mercy by not calling the police, yet you still dare to

threaten me? Aiden looked at the shivering men with a dark, penetrating gaze as he

squatted in front of them.

The stones in his hand seemed ready to strike at any moment. Listen up, scumbags. If I

see you here again in the future, this will be the consequence.

Aiden's expression turned ice cold as he threw a handful of stones at the grayish-white

wall of the alley. Crack! Multiple stones thrown by Aiden embedded into the wall, spelling

out the word, Death. The three of them sucked in a breath of cold air at the sight.

Immediately, they started crying out at Aiden's feet. We guarantee that we won't show

our faces here ever again! Also, you are not allowed to cause trouble with this lady!

Aiden pointed at the girl. Yes! Yes! We promise! They said.

Now, get the hell out of my sight! Aiden ordered. The three hurriedly stood up,

supporting one another, and scrambled out of the alley. The alley became quiet once

more.

The girl gritted her teeth and was about to say something, but Aiden's expression

changed as he looked at his watch. Crap! The supermarket is about to close! He

exclaimed. Well then, I hope to see you around again, he said as he jogged away.

Hey! The girl yelled as she stomped her foot in frustration. You still haven't told me your

name! I'm Mia! She trailed off, realizing he couldn't hear her. Mia didn't know who he

was, but she remembered that his school uniform was familiar.

He goes to Otis High, she realized. I will definitely go and find him myself! Mia remained

firm and resolute as she recalled everything that had happened just now. She couldn't

stop herself from smiling at those thoughts.

Luckily, Aiden managed to get to the supermarket before it

closed at 11 o'clock. Aiden held a bag of carrots in one hand and suddenly slapped his head with the other. Damn! I forgot to ask the beauty for her number! I should have at

least asked for her name! Aiden! Oh, Aiden, you're such an idiot! He let out a heavy sigh,

hoping to get the chance to see her again.

Aiden's home was on the second floor above the midnight snack corner. Due to the small

size of the house, Aiden had no choice but to squeeze into a small room that was less

than 10 square meters with his younger sister. The two of them slept on bunk beds to

save space, Aiden on the bottom and his sister on the top.

The pair quarreled almost every day due to the lack of privacy or when one of them was

being too loud. At night, they even had to endure the sound of their shameless parents

next door. Fortunately, his sister went to a military school.

Other than the winter and summer holidays, she usually spent most of her time at

school, leaving the room to Aiden. That night, Aiden tossed and turned his body, unable

to fall asleep. He climbed onto the top bunk and smirked before returning to the bottom

bunk.

He then picked up a textbook and flipped through it, listening to the system's constant

beeping in his head. EXPERIENCE PLUS ONE Even now, his excitement for the system

had not abated. But at the same time, he still had many questions about it.

Why did the system choose him, a normal student of all people? Never mind, he thought.

There was no need to worry about that now. A wise man once said, meat delivered to the

mouth is meat eaten for free.

The only thing Aiden needed to do now was to make use of the sudden emergence of

this system to improve his own life and the lives of his family members. What would

improve their lives? What everyone always needed, money. A lot of money.

But to make money, chicken noodle soup alone would not suffice. Aiden needed to use

the system to awaken more abilities and become stronger. Thinking of this, Aiden

calmed down and tried calling out to the system in his mind.

System, do you have an attribute panel? With the passive system, even if I can't speak

directly with it, there should at least be some sort of menu function, right? The host's

current ability value list is as follows. In Aiden's mind, a visual image of his attributes

panel appeared. He scanned the list.

Language ability, 20 out of 100. Level, Proficient. Math ability, 18 out of 100.

Level, Proficient. French ability, 23 out of 100. Level, Proficient.

Politics, History. Students in their first year of high school are required to study the

basics of general courses, such as English Literature, Mathematics, French, World History, Geography, Biology, and minor subjects before they are assigned to any of the

nine major subjects. As for the major subjects, Aiden had already hastily flipped through

his textbooks and brought them all up to the Proficient level.

During this time, he discovered that, after reaching the Proficient level, the speed at

which his abilities increased slowed down significantly. Just flipping through the first

year's textbooks did not seem to be working very well anymore. Perhaps in the future,

he would need to borrow more advanced textbooks to gain more knowledge and

experience.

In addition to skills regarding his education, there were other types of skills that caught

his attention on the attribute panel. Those skills included his proficiency in cooking and

throwing, as well as his beginner-level skills such as flirting and resistance. Aiden laid on

his bed, quietly thinking about how he could further improve these abilities.

At that moment, the sound of the bed being pressed down, followed by a series of

strange noises, resounded from the room next door, which irritated Aiden. Those two are

so annoying! Standing up, he rolled up two small balls of cotton and stuffed them into his

ears. Practicing the arts of perception.

Hearing ability, plus one. Current progress, one out of ten. Current level, beginner.

This time, the sound from next door, not suitable for children, could be heard even more

clearly. I need to move out as soon as possible, he muttered to himself
