Chapter 1 - Waking up in future

Alarm goes off. With her sister sleeping beside her, Meesha's hand reaches out to find her.

"Alert is going off; get up." She murmurs in her sleep, "Go turn it off."

To her surprise, she is alone in the room. She switches off the alarm clock and returns to sleep without opening her eyes. She suddenly feels suffocated. She tosses her blanket aside.

"How come I have a blanket on? Who uses a blanket in hot weather?"

Meesha was no longer able to fall asleep. Frustrated, she sits up. She finally opens her eyes. It is a large room with white and grey décor.

"What's wrong with my eyes? I'm seeing things early in the morning". She pinches herself to snap back into reality.

She opens her eyes again; to her surprise, she is still in an unknown room. She begins to panic.

"Mom! Mom, where are you? You people are definitely playing tricks on me, Didi."

"Didi?" She calls for her sister.

Meesha moves out of bed. She walks toward the door. She tries to open the door with a trembling hand. Before she could open it, someone from outside did.

At the door stands a woman in her fifties. Meesha has no idea who she is. The woman enters the room.

"I came to call you for the breakfast. You do not appear to have changed, though.Go take a bath and then come downstairs," the woman says.

"Wait, where are my parents? Meesha asks hesitantly.

"When did they come? I didn't see them" answers the woman.

Meesha starts to sense that something is not right. "Who are you?" Meesha asks the woman standing in front of her, her eyes filled with tears.

" Pfft!" exclaims the woman, breaking into laughter. " I know it's 1st april. Don't try to fool me".

"It's 1st april. I believe it should be....uhm.....21st June," Meesha insists.

If she is still upset about yesterday, the woman asks. She assures her that it will not happen again.

Meesha is now even more perplexed.

The woman looks at Meesha, takes her hand in hers, and tells her to relax. She will make sure it never happens again. She will talk it out with Tim.

"Who is Tim?" says Meesha.

"My son, your husband," answers the woman."Now no more questions. Go get ready and come have your breakfast."

"M-m-my husband," Meesha says with trembling voice. Meesha faints before her mother-in-law can answer.
