Aliane can't get a god damn break.
He's been trying to learn this spell and it's been one interruption after the other and it's annoying. How is Aliane suppose to practice magic if everyone decides today is the best day to barge in his office and-?
There's a soft knock at his door. Aliane sighs, rolling his pale blue eyes and slamming the magical book in his hands hard on his desk, flickering a finger towards the door and watching it swing open to reveal him.
"Hello Captain." Aliane said, bowing his head low. Jeremiah El Carter, Captain of those god awful barbarians casually nods his head in greeting as he walks into Aliane's office and stands in front of the magician; his tall statue and broad shoulders would intimate any man, but Aliane isn't really in the mood to be intimated. He just wants to hurry up learning this stupid spell and take a nap.
"For someone who deems himself a friend," Jeremiah said, eyeing the magical book laying on Aliane's desk, "you often use formalities with me."
"I know you come for business," Aliane said, "that's why."
"Right, yes, I do." Jeremiah said, walking towards an empty chair in Aliane's office and leaning forward, folding his hands as he offers Aliane his attention. "You mentioned something that needs to be discussed as soon as possible. Clarke mentioned there was a murder in Tila?"
Aliane sighs, walking towards an empty chair across from Jeremiah and plotting his butt down, rolling his eyes, and hanging his head back.
"I just told her this," Aliane said, "could you give the information like 24 hours? At least 12?"
"There was a murder in Tila," Jeremiah said, raising an eyebrow, "and based off the news, it appears a new and very talented recruit from their knighthood was killed--Bara, right?"
Aliane scratches his head and nods, too lazily to speak.
"So there is a lot of information missing from the article," Jeremiah continues, "usually the newspaper publishes everything that occurs down to the detail, but the article lacks even the basics--like how the victim died, what were their injuries-."
"If you are implying that I hid those details," Aliane said, sitting up to lazily place his cheek in his palm, "then yeah, the Magician Tower has decided to keep those details hidden with agreeance to Tila's knights."
"Is there a reason?" Jeremiah asked, leaning more forward. Aliane shrugs, keeping his eyes anywhere but Jeremiah.
"Yeah," Aliane said, "the back of Bara's necks were cut apart and missing from her body."
Jeremiah's eyes widen, his mouth agape, and he doesn't say anything after a while, until finally he does.
"Gods," Jeremiah mumbles, "it seems like it does have something to do with the Gods."
...
"You're still here?" Amur said, mumbling as Zayn jolts up, stretching her arms and letting out a loud yawn.
After training, dinner (which was steamed veggies and mash potatoes with turkey--yum!), Zayn, Chase, and Amur head back early to relax. Of course, it is cut short after Zayn was summoned to Jeremiah's office, who tells her that he must travel to handle some business the next day, so she can take some rest until he comes back to work more on their one-on-one sessions, or they can wait until the next day to presume. Of course, Zayn insists on waiting until he comes back, as she would hate to miss a day and--Jeremiah smiled, nodding his head and telling her he looks forward to their training together and--oh Gods, Jeremiah is even more handsome when he smiles and-.
"Zayn...?" Amur asked, awkward watching as Zayn holds her cheeks, shaking her head and squealing. Zayn snaps out of her trance, nodding her head and hurriedly jumping up out of her spot on their bed.
"R-right! Captain has some business to handle, s-so we'll be training later-ah! So I decided to sleep in today!" Zayn exclaims.
Amur raises an eyebrow, watching her friend stretch and awkwardly shift, her metal body causing the wooden floor to creak.
"Zayn." Amur said, her expression blank.
"Y-yes?" Zayn said, clearing her throat.
"Be careful." Amur said, quickly turning her head away and rising up, grabbing her long hair and a hair tie to ready herself for training.
Zayn nods, mildly confused by what Amur meant by that.
...
Zayn and Amur leave soon after with Chase meeting them by the dorm halls entrance. The three of them make their way to the mess hall for breakfast, soon intersected by a very grumpy Ramon.
"Well who pissed in your breakfast this morning?" Amur snickers, watching Ramon rolls her eyes and shoots her an angrily middle finger.
"Buzz off, short stack." Ramon said, rubbing her eyes filled with tiredness. "I saw the most creepiest shit under my bed and I couldn't sleep a wink last night. Fuck."
"Oh Gods, what was it?" Zayn asked, raising an eyebrow as Ramon offered her a weak look.
"Fuzzy and small and had huge eyes and-ugh," Ramon said, shivering, "it's beady eyes cannot get out of my head..."
"Well consider that karma for being such a rude person when we first met," Amur smirks, shrugging her shoulders, "one more night of a fuzzy fiend won't kill you."
Ramon silently glares at Amur, but she must really be tired, because she lacks further response, which makes even Amur feel bad--based off her pitying facial expression.
"Look if it helps," Amur said, "and if you see it again, you can...bunk with me and Zayn I guess. If Zayn doesn't mind, of course."
"Oh that would be so much fun!" Zayn chirps, sliding a tray in her hands and piling up bread and butter on her plate, "I've never done such things--do they call this a sleepover? A girls over? I've never done so before!"
Ramon huffs, a small laugh leaving her lips as she piles food on her plate.
"Thanks, Amur." Ramon said, to which causes Amur to huff and Chase to place a hand on Amur's small shoulder.
...
Vice Captain Clarke Vivinia is having a rough time.
Captain Jeremiah had to leave with Aliane to check out whatever mess is occurring in Tila, which means Jeremiah decides to leave Clark in charge until he arrives back.
The trip to Tila will be quick since Alaine can teleport, but he can only teleport to the city's borders, check in with city patrol, and then teleport to the crime scene. Even then, Jeremiah must discuss the incident with the Co-Captain of Amia's knighthood--the White Seperants, which means that may take hours (especially since their Captain is known to be a talker)--and Jeremiah must then teleport back and--who knows how long the day will be without Jeremiah, but Clarke knows that he's needed, especially with the murder appearing as if it is deemed a Gods issue.
Okay, deep breath Clarke, mainly because Clarke will freak out and that will make everything worse and--as long as the day goes by without incident and Clarke only has to finish her stack of paperwork, everything will be fine.
There's a loud bang at her office door. Clarke opens her mouth to say to whomever to come in, which is responded by the swing of the door and that short man with brown hair and freckles (she always seems to forget his name) come in with a worried expression on his face.
"Vice Captain," the short man said, his voice laced with panic, "it seems like there may be a issue in Viki--there's been sighting of some Vera attacking citizens-."
Clark slaps a hand on her face, letting out the longest sigh she can possibly let out.
