Year 20505 of the Infernal Calendar;
Two years have passed since the birth of Cain Aatrox, and his extraordinary potential has become increasingly apparent. Cain defied norms from an early age, speaking his first word at just one month old and mastering fluent speech within two weeks. By five months, he had already learned to read and write, demonstrating a remarkable ability to absorb and retain information.
Formal training commenced when Cain turned one year old, and his progress has been nothing short of remarkable. At the age of two, his physical prowess exceeds that of an average commoner, marking him as a prodigy within the esteemed Aatrox household.
Within the halls of the Aatrox estate, a group of children ranging from two to five years old could be observed conversing amongst themselves, a subtle unease evident on their faces. Among them stood a short boy with striking white hair, a distinctive figure amidst his peers.
Cain had always been a very smart kid, so he understood the significance of this test for him. In the infernal realm, devils valued power above all else, and those without the potential to cultivate ether were viewed as the lowest of the low.
Suddenly, all the kids fell silent with the entrance of Lord Mephisto and Elder Thalgrim, who would be testing their potential.
"Shall we begin, my lord?" asked Elder Thalgrim, his voice cold and indifferent.
Lord Mephisto nodded, his gaze fixed on Cain with anticipation and a hint of worry.
"Okay, kids, line up from the oldest to the youngest," said the elder.
The children dared not delay. The first child stepped forward and placed his hand on a glass ball in front of Elder Thalgrim. A yellow light emanated from the ball.
"Level 2, next," instructed the elder.
The child looked as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over him. He left the hall with disappointment clear on his face, but no one paid him any heed as the test continued as planned.
"Level 1, next."
"Level 2."
"Level 3."
"Level 4, good."
...
"Level 5!" exclaimed Elder Thalgrim, happiness evident on his face. "Girl, what's your name?" he asked.
"Alice Alaister" replied the girl shyly.
"You have very good aptitude. I hope you work hard to honor your family's name," encouraged Thalgrim.
The watching children were surprised to hear more than three words from the elder.
"Next."
Finally, it was Cain's turn. He advanced with steady steps toward Elder Thalgrim and placed his hand on the glass ball. At that moment, a blinding violet light shone from the ball.
"That's..." Cain said, flabbergasted, unsure if it was a good or bad thing.
"Level 6," declared the elder, his face dumbfounded.
"Good, good, good! From today onward, you shall be the heir of the Aatrox family," announced Lord Mephisto, appearing out of nowhere, his tone unable to hide his joy.
