Roseanne pushed open the door to her new room, feeling the day's exhaustion wash over her. The room was quiet, peaceful, and yet the conversation with Davian still lingered in her mind. His cold, detached words kept replaying in her head, a warning she couldn't shake.
She smiled sadly to herself as she shut the door behind her. Maybe Davian was right. After all, she had never really known what love felt like, not from her father, not from anyone.
As she stood by the window, her eyes wandered over the sprawling forest just beyond the Blood Stone Pack's territory. The dense trees seemed to stretch forever, as if they were guarding secrets. The soft knock on her door pulled her back to reality.
"Miss Woods," Skyla greeted her with a friendly nod as she walked in, but there was a warmth in her tone that Roseanne hadn't noticed before.
Roseanne gave her a small smile, shaking her head slightly. "Please, just call me Roseanne."
