Chapter 6 - As Nice As This

Roseanne felt a bit better thanks to Skyla's kind smile, even with her thoughts all over the place. As they reached the door to Roseanne's new room, Skyla said, "Welcome to your room, Miss Woods. I hope you find it to your liking."

Roseanne nodded, trying to muster a grateful smile despite her anxiety. "Thank you," she replied softly. Skyla gently pushed open the door, revealing a space that was a far cry from Roseanne's old, cramped quarters.

The room was expansive, bathed in a soft, golden light filtering through tall windows adorned with elegant drapes. The walls were painted a calming shade of pale blue, and the floor was covered with a plush, cream-colored carpet that looked as though it would feel like walking on clouds. In one corner, there was a big four-poster bed with a deep, dark wood frame and a fancy carved headboard. The bedding was luxurious, with silken sheets and an assortment of fluffy pillows arranged neatly.

To the right, a wooden wardrobe with brass handles stood next to a high-backed armchair. A mahogany desk with a comfortable chair was positioned near the window, beside which a vase of fresh flowers added a touch of color and fragrance to the room. On the opposite side, a door led to a private bathroom with gleaming tiles and a deep, inviting tub. Everything in the room spoke of comfort and luxury, a stark contrast to Roseanne's small, cold room back in the Red Moon Pack.

"I hope this room can live up to the standard of your old room," she said gently.

Roseanne's eyes wandered over the room, taking in every detail. A sad smile tugged at her lips. "I've never had anything as nice as this," she admitted, her voice soft and tinged with a hint of nostalgia.

Skyla's eyes widened slightly, surprised by Roseanne's revelation. She remained silent for a moment, processing the weight of Roseanne's words. Then, with a sincere smile, she said, "I'm glad you like it. I hope it helps make your transition here a bit easier."

Roseanne looked at Skyla, her expression a mix of gratitude and vulnerability. "Thank you," she said, her voice earnest. "Thank you for all of this. It really does help."

Skyla watched Roseanne's reaction with a hint of sympathy. "It's my pleasure. If there's anything you need or if you have any questions about the pack, don't hesitate to ask. I'm here to help."

Roseanne nodded appreciatively. "I'm sure I'll have questions," she said, her tone a mix of nervousness and curiosity. "I've heard a lot about the Blood Stone Pack. It's all quite overwhelming."

Skyla gave her a reassuring look. "It's natural to feel that way. The Blood Stone Pack is known for its strength and unity. It can seem intimidating, but you'll get used to it. We're a close-knit community, and once you get to know everyone, it will feel more like home."

Before Roseanne could respond, there was a knock on the door. Skyla opened it, revealing Marvin, the Beta. His presence was commanding, and his eyes, though kind, held a hint of formality.

"Good evening, Miss Woods," Marvin greeted with a polite nod. "Alpha Davian has requested to see you in his office."

Roseanne's heart skipped a beat. Her hands instinctively tightened around the strap of her bag. "Oh, alright," she said, trying to sound calm despite the flutter of anxiety in her chest.

Marvin stepped into the room, his gaze shifting between Skyla and Roseanne. "I trust you're settling in well?" he asked, his tone was warm but with a touch of seriousness.

Skyla nodded. "Yes, Marvin. I was just showing Miss Woods to her room. She's adjusting."

Marvin smiled slightly and turned his attention back to Roseanne. "If you're ready, Miss Woods, we can head to the Alpha's office now."

Roseanne took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. "Yes, I'm ready."

Skyla gave Roseanne a reassuring nod. "I'll leave you to it then. If you need anything later, please let me know."

Roseanne offered a grateful smile before turning to follow Marvin. As she walked through the grand hallways of the mansion, she couldn't help but marvel at all the luxury around her. The corridors were lined with rich tapestries and fancy wood details. The air was filled with the faint aroma of cedar and lavender, a stark contrast to the mustiness of her old home.

Marvin led her through several turns, moving confidently the whole way. Roseanne followed closely, her eyes darting around, taking in the lavish surroundings. The mansion was a marvel of architectural beauty, with its high ceilings and ornate details.

They finally reached a large, heavy wooden door adorned with intricate carvings. Marvin paused and turned to her. "This is Alpha Davian's office," he said. "Please, go on in."

Roseanne took a deep breath and nodded. Marvin opened the door, and she stepped inside, her heart pounding in her chest.
