Hearing his words, Alex's brows furrowed into a slight frown, however, the frown quickly vanished, almost as it it was never there.
He let out a snicker, stylishly wiping off another trail of blood at the corner of his lips.
"That's because your punch was so weak, I barely felt it." He replied, his lips slowly curling into a smug smirk.
Although he said this, his whole torso was burning in pain from that hit, and he felt like he could vomit blood anytime from now.
However, he held the pain in, keeping his composure. This wouldn't be the first time he was getting punched or hit, and after receiving so many hits, he was already used to the pain.
"My punches? Weak…?" The man muttered, before bursting into laughter. "You know, you really are pathetic, trying to get on my nerves with such an obvious tactic."
"It won't work. I have better things to do than to let myself get worked up by a useless dud." He said, the expression on his face twisting into one of disgust.
"You know, I feel sorry for you. A dud, from the fallen royal family, worthless… just like your family. It's a good thing all of them are dead now. You should be glad, you're finally in your rightful place, as a common slave."
Hearing his words, Alex's eyes widened slightly and his body trembled in anger.
However, his countenance unexpectedly took a drastic change, and he burst into laughter.
"Hehehe." He chuckled loudly, while a weird expression appeared on the man's face, surprised by his reaction.
"You're one to talk about failure. A technomancer with so little talent… that even after forcefully boosting his Zet with drugs, could only barely reach the second rank."
As he talked, Alex slowly walked towards the man, with a condescending expression on his face.
He didn't even know what he was saying, he was just lumping up random words he picked up from some loose-mouthed psychics working in the unit.
What he was doing seemed to be working though, as the man's body started trembling, with his fists clenched tightly in anger.
Even though Alex was supposed to be the 'slave', and the armoured man the 'master', reverse seemed to be the case in this situation.
"The only reason you're here… and the reason you put on that huge armour, is to sooth your pathetic ego, and gloat over us…who you think are 'lesser' than you." Alex paused for a second, flashing a smirk at the man before continuing.
"But out there, you're just as useless. Isn't that right… Bel'ney?" He said, staring into the man's eyes.
Bel'ney's eyes widened in anger the moment he heard Alex's last words. Every other thing he might be able to take, but how dare a mere slave call him by his first name?!
"Know your place! You're just a slave!" He shouted, his eyes bulging with pain and anger.
Swish!!
Clank!
Smoke abruptly rose up from the wrist of his armour, and a thick black gauntlet swiftly materialised over his fists.
"I'll kill you, useless dud!" He shouted, pulling his arm backwards for a punch.
However, as he was about to swing his fist, someone suddenly jumped on his back, immediately locking his head and arm in a triangle chokehold.
"What?!!" He shouted, snapping his head to the side.
His eyes met with that of another slave, a brown haired man holding unto around his arms like a snake, with his legs coiled around his thick, metal neck.
Clang!
"Hehe." The man grinned, tightening his grip on his arm. Since Bel'ney was so focused on Alex, he didn't notice when the brown haired man was silently approaching him.
"You… Get off me!" Bel'ney shouted, easily flinging the man to the side with his superior strength.
Due to the armour he was putting on, an armlock or chokehold wouldn't work on him. It was just pointless, since he would barely feel it.
However, choking him wasn't the goal of the attack, it was just a diversion, to give Alex the chance to land the real attack!
"Did y—" Alex didn't give Bel'ney a chance to finish his words, before lunging towards him, thrusting one of the thick black boxes at his helmet.
Crack!!
The box smashed into the transparent screen of the helmet, shattering it into pieces, with some of the shards stabbing into his eyes.
"Argh!!" Bel'ney shouted in agony, as blood gushed out from his eyes.
With the helmet gone, his pale face was fully exposed, and Alex wasted no time before thrusting his second fist at his ugly face.
Thwack!
Alex's fist connected with his face, breaking his nose and also knocking out a few of his teeth.
"Arrgh!!" Bel'ney grunted in pain, and his body was knocked down to the ground by the force of the punch.
Due to the shards lodged in his eyes, he was still blind, so all he felt was a heavy fist sinking into his face, followed by agonising pain.
"And don't dare talk nonsense about my family!" Alex shouted, swiftly pouncing on him, before unleashing a furry of punches on his face.
Remembering the words Bel'ney said about his family, Alex felt the rage he forcefully suppressed back then rapidly bubble back to the surface.
While he could take any other kind of insult, one thing he would never tolerate was the mockery of his family.
The memories of their death kept replaying in his mind, filling him with even more pain and anger, and he wasted no time before transferring his aggression unto the defenceless face of Bel'ney.
Thwack!!
Splat!!
With every punch he landed on the man's face, a splash of blood followed, until every part of Bel'nel's face was swollen and dyed red with blood.
'I'll kill you…' Alex thought, gnashing his teeth as he planted his fist into the man's face once more.
