Chapter 4 - A mind psychic

This wouldn't be the first time Alex would be beating up one of the slave unit workers, as he had done so two times before.

A few months ago, he and a few other slaves started up a rebellion, with Alex as their leader.

Although Alex had rebelled countless times both before and after that, which all failed stupidly, that particular one still remained the most popular.

During the rebellion, Alex killed the supervisor supposed to watch over them, along with two other workers in the unit.

They were only low ranking psychics, and he somehow managed to catch them off guard, taking their lives by overwhelming them with his insane physical strength.

Nonetheless, their plan was destroyed by Tiery, who suddenly appeared, brutally killing most slaves.

As for the rest, they quickly surrendered, willingly accepting whatever punishment given to them.

Alex and Brad were the only ones who refused to surrender, choosing to attack Tiery instead.

However, what resulted from that choice was a one-sided beat down from Tiery, who for some reason, didn't kill them.

It was this same event that gave rise to the nickname "Scarred King", which spread like wildfire among the slaves all throughout the world.

Although it was originally given by Tiery to mock him, the name was greatly respected by most of the slaves.

As people who were rejected by the society for the lack of Zet, hearing news that one of them defeated a psychic, even if it was a low-ranked one, filled them with so much joy.

It was after this that Bel'ney was employed as the new supervisor, but at the end, he was also beaten by Alex.

"I've told you… stop calling me that!" Alex said, gnashing his teeth in annoyance. Despite the "respect" it brought, he hated it. For him, it was a mockery of his rage, and his royal bloodline.

Besides, it wasn't like he asked those other slaves to follow him, in fact, he warned them not to.

The original plan had involved only he and Brad, however, they stubbornly got themselves involved in it, leading themselves to their own death.

'It wasn't my fault…' Alex thought, grinding his teeth against one another.

"Nah, it's a fitting name for you. A weakling, struggling pitifully against things he has no control of." Tiery said, with a smug smirk on his face.

"You know, if it was up to me, i would have killed you years ago."

Sizzz!!!

"I guess you're quite lucky in that aspect…" As he spoke, the giant arm choking Alex rapidly heated, painfully scorching his neck.

The pain was excruciating, and being choked didn't help any better, but Alex held it in, simply glaring at Tiery with a frown.

He knew the man was right, he was weak and there was nothing he could actually do against those he truly hated.

Nonetheless, he would never bow to them, and he would never forget. "Pitiful you say… I don't care… I'll—"

"Yeah… yeah… yeah, I've heard it countless times. You should be grateful, that I didn't take your pathetic live long before now." Tiery rudely interrupted Alex, causing him to grit his teeth in frustration.

However, he ignored him, turning his head to the side instead.

"Hey, gather up all the slaves, we're going on a field trip." At first, it seemed like he was talking to the air, however, a slender woman suddenly materialised beside him, shocking eveyeone present.

"Yes sir." The woman's soft voice reverberated across the room, enchanting most of the slaves.

'She's been here all this while…? I didn't even notice her.' Alex thought, his eyes narrowing at the strange lady. He didn't know why, but the appearance of the woman greatly unnerved him.

She had light green locks, which flowed down freely to the her waist, and bright green eyes, which shone like jade.

Her face was also very pretty, with fair skin, and her slender body was graced with curves in all the right places.

The moment she appeared, hearts appeared in most of the slaves eyes, all easily enchanted by her beauty.

However, the more Alex stared at her, the more he felt his disgust grow.

'I recognise those stupid eyes, a mind psychic. Why the hell would a mind psychic be here?' He thought, his eyes narrowing at the woman.

Mind psychics were extremely rare, even rarer than duds. Just like the name implied, they were psychics that dealt in mental manipulation of their targets.

They could create illusions, which  looked and felt so real that one could hardly tell the difference.

They could also perform hypnosis, complete mind control, and the more powerful ones could directly alter and influence a person's memory.

As long as someone's Zet was weaker than theirs, they could exert full control over that person.

It was also why they were regraded as the most dangerous psychics, and why Alex felt so threatened by her presence.

Despite the charm oozing from her, he wasn't affected in the slightest, all it did was irk him even further.

Since he didn't have a single trace of psychic energy(Zet), he was practically defenceless against all her attacks, which was scary… even to him.

His thoughts were finally confirmed, when the woman opened her mouth, saying a word.

"Sleep." Her voice reverberated across the hall like a soft melody, and all the slaves slowly dropped to the ground, fast asleep.

Alex's eyes widened slightly in shock, as he felt a sudden wave of drowsiness wash over him.

"Damn… it. What… the hell… is this?" He mumbled, his grip on the metal arm rapidly growing weaker, until his arms plopped by his sides.

Despite his eyelids growing heavier with each second, he still tried fighting against it, unwilling to give in to sleep.

'Just what are they planning…?' He thought, gritting his teeth in annoyance. His eyes slowly drifted to Tiery and the strange woman, and his brows furrowed into a deep frown.

However, despite trying his best to stay awake, his mind later gave in, too weak to fight back the hypnosis.

His eyes slowly closed, and he slumped over the giant arm.

'Why the hell do I have to be so… weak…?' Those were the last thoughts that crossed his mind, as he felt himself drift into the warm embrace of sleep.
