"Nozue, want to join me for a jog?" Kazu asked, tapping Nozue's shoulder with a cheerful smile as the early morning sun cast a golden hue over the city.
"Yeah, I'll join you every day. I need to train my body before I become a full-fledged adventurer," Nozue replied, returning the smile with equal enthusiasm.
"Great! By the way, do you want to go to the Guild and register afterward?"
"Sure," Nozue said eagerly, his excitement evident.
"Alright, after we exercise and jog, we'll stop by the Guild to get you registered. They say you only need mana and skills to become an adventurer, so you should be able to register."
After a refreshing morning jog that left them both energized and ready for the day, Kazu and Nozue approached the grand, bustling Adventurer's Guild.
"This is the Adventurer's Guild. This is where you'll register," Kazu explained, gesturing toward the imposing building adorned with the Guild's emblem.
Inside, the Guild was abuzz with activity. Adventurers of all ranks bustled about, sharing tales of their latest quests and exchanging tips. Missy stood behind the reception desk, her face lighting up as she saw Kazu.
"Good morning, Kazu! Are you here for a job quest?" Missy greeted, her tone warm and welcoming.
"Good morning, Missy. Actually, I'm here to help Nozue register as an adventurer. Can he sign up?"
"Nozue?" Missy asked, turning her attention to the shy newcomer.
"Hello, Missy. I'm Nozue, Kazu's friend," Nozue introduced himself, his voice slightly nervous but filled with determination.
"Nice to meet you, Nozue. So, you want to register as an adventurer?" Missy inquired, her curiosity piqued.
"Yes, that's right," Nozue said, trying to muster confidence.
"Alright, there are a few requirements. First, you need to show your skills and abilities. Second, you must be at least twelve years old. Third, you need to have mana. Understood?"
"Yes, Missy."
"First, show me the skills you can use for adventuring. Do you have any?"
Nozue took a deep breath, focusing as he extended his palm. "I can use Water magic. Like this..." He conjured a swirling sphere of water and a thin sheet of ice in his hands, demonstrating his control over the elements.
Missy's eyes widened in admiration. "That's a good skill... Is that all?"
"I can cast spells without incantations, too," Nozue added, a hint of pride in his voice.
"That makes spell casting much faster. Impressive. Now, let's measure your mana."
"You can do it, Nozue! I'll wait here," Kazu encouraged, giving Nozue a reassuring smile.
"Thanks, Kazu!" Nozue said, feeling his nerves settle.
"Place your palm on this orb. It's called a mana meter," Missy instructed, handing him a smooth, glowing orb.
"Like this?" Nozue asked, carefully placing his palm on the orb.
Missy's eyes widened in surprise as the orb glowed brightly. "You have dual-element magic affinity! Water and Light!"
"Light affinity?" Nozue echoed, puzzled.
"Yes, Light affinity is usually used against Dark affinity users. You can learn skills like purification, high healing spells, immobilization spells, and detoxification spells."
"Really?"
"Yes, and your mana is ranked A!"
"A rank?! Wow!" Nozue exclaimed, his eyes wide with astonishment.
"Congratulations, Nozue! Wait here while we make your Guild card," Missy said with a beaming smile.
"Thank you so much, Missy!" Nozue said, his excitement palpable as he returned to Kazu.
"Kazu! It's done! I just have to wait for my Guild card, and I'll be an official adventurer!"
"Really?! What's your rank?" Kazu asked, equally thrilled.
"My mana is ranked A, according to Missy."
"Wow, A rank? I started as an F rank... You're really lucky!"
"I know, right? Haha!"
"You seem so happy. I remember when you were so quiet, but now you're showing a different side of you. Keep it up, Nozue! I'm happy for you!"
"It's all because of you, Kazu. I finally have a friend. Thank you."
"As your friend, I'll always be here for you. By the way, we should look for a Construction Quest to strengthen our bodies."
"Alright, Kazu!"
Kazu scanned the quest board and pointed to a notice. "How about this one? 'Transport heavy logs to the Lumberjack shop.' The reward isn't bad, and it will help us build our strength."
"I don't know much about quests, so I'll leave it to you," Nozue said.
"Okay, let's take this one. But first, we need to wait for your Guild card so we can start your very first quest. I'm so excited!"
"Me too, Kazu!"
After about fifty minutes, Missy returned with Nozue's Guild card in hand.
"Here's your Guild card, Nozue!"
"Wow! Thank you, Missy!"
"No problem. Just doing my job."
"You're now an official adventurer, Nozue! By the way, Missy, we're taking a Construction Quest."
"Construction Quest? Why?"
"As part of our training, we're trying to build our strength. Is that okay?"
"I suppose, but you're quite young for such a demanding job. Do you think you can handle it?"
"We'll manage, Missy!" Nozue replied confidently.
Kazu looked at Nozue with a sense of pride. "That's right, we'll manage."
Missy sighed but smiled. "Alright, but be careful. Construction quests are tough."
"We will, thanks, Missy," Kazu said, smiling.
The boys signed up for the quest and set off.
At the edge of Leafa Forest, they met their quest leader, a rugged man with a no-nonsense demeanor.
"Are you the boys who took my job quest?" the man asked, his voice gruff.
"Yes, sir. Is this the quest?" Kazu asked, showing him the quest paper.
"That's it. I'm Hacho, your captain. We'll load the logs onto the wagon and take them to the Lumberjack shop in Druzka."
"We understand, Captain Hacho," Kazu and Nozue replied in unison.
"Good. Let's get started."
The boys worked hard under Hacho's watchful eye, moving the heavy logs into the wagon. Despite their efforts, the work was grueling. They moved the logs in a steady rhythm, their muscles straining under the weight.
After a while, they finally finished loading the last of the logs.
"We're done, Captain Hacho!" Kazu said, wiping sweat from his brow.
"Is that all of them?" Nozue panted, lying down on the ground.
"Yes, that's all. Take a half-hour break, then we'll head out," Hacho instructed.
The boys sat down to rest, sharing a simple meal and catching their breath. Kazu felt a familiar tingle as a notification appeared before him.

"Huh, new skills? But I haven't used a sword before..." Kazu mused, intrigued by the new abilities.
"What are you thinking about, Kazu?" Nozue asked, noticing Kazu's thoughtful expression.
"I got new skills. Maybe I should try using a sword," Kazu said.
"A sword? But you're a dagger user. Won't that be hard?" Nozue wondered aloud.
"I'll train myself," Kazu decided firmly.
"You're amazing, Kazu. You always push yourself," Nozue said, admiration clear in his voice.
"Thanks for your support, Nozue."

"No problem!" Nozue beamed, holding up his reward with pride.

his eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Let's head back to the Guild and report our success," Kazu suggested, already looking forward to their next adventure.
"Okay, Kazu!"
As they walked back, Kazu received another notification.
