Chapter 12 - Wrath of God

After their harrowing encounter in the dungeon, Kazu and Kazike decided to return to the Guild to present the scroll they had retrieved and report on what had happened.

Kazike looked at Kazu with a mix of admiration and curiosity. "Kazu, your power is incredible. How can you teleport repeatedly to different locations like that? It's beyond anything I've seen."

Kazu shook his head with a smile. "I don't know, Kazike. Honestly, I'm just as surprised by what I can do as you are."

Kazike nodded thoughtfully, his curiosity evident. "Whatever power you have, Kazu, you should study it carefully. But for now, let's head back to the Guild and report everything."

Kazu agreed, a hint of uncertainty in his voice. "Yes, Kazike, but I don't know how to study my power. Can you teach me?"

Kazike chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Are you sure? I don't even know if I can match your strength. But I guess I can try."

Kazu smiled warmly. "Never mind, Kazike. Let's just head back to the Guild."

As they prepared to leave, Kazike suddenly remembered something important. "Ah, Kazu, I almost forgot. My teleportation stone is depleted. We'll need to stay in this dungeon a bit longer to find a depth teleportation stone."

Kazu nodded. "Alright, Kazike. But where do we find one?"

Kazike sighed, looking a bit embarrassed. "We'll need to get it from the monsters here. I forgot to mention that part earlier."

Kazu followed Kazike closely, a reassuring smile on his face. "Okay, Kazike. I'll follow you."

Kazike glanced at Kazu with a mix of concern and caution. "Kazu, your power is terrifying. You defeated an S-rank assassin so easily. I'm not saying it's wrong, but you need to control your power to avoid any dangerous situations."

Kazu sensed something unsettling in the air. "Kazike... what is this... killing intent I'm feeling?"

Kazike noticed Kazu's distress and his face darkened. "Kazu, is there a problem?"

Kazu nodded slowly. "Yes, Kazike. I feel an immense danger around us."

Kazike's expression turned serious. "It could be that Cloyde had companions. This is bad. KAZU, HOLD ONTO ME AND GIVE ME YOUR MANA!"

Kazu quickly complied. "Kazike, here it is!"

Kazike initiated a teleportation circle just as an imposing figure, an S-rank hero and Kazike's childhood friend, Mizawa, appeared in the dungeon.

Kazike's eyes widened in shock. "Mizawa... the right hand of the demon lord... What's he doing here?"

Kazu looked confused. "Kazike, why did we leave the dungeon so suddenly? Is there a problem?"

Kazike forced a smile, trying to remain calm. "Nothing, Kazu. It's better that we left there."

Kazu was puzzled. "But what about the depth teleportation stone?"

Kazike reassured him. "We'll buy two at the central market when we pass through the smith shop."

Kazu nodded, accepting Kazike's explanation. "Okay, Kazike."

Kazike patted Kazu's shoulder. "Let's head to the Guild first and find out our next steps for your quest."

They made their way back to the Adventurer's Guild, their pace steady despite the tension of their recent encounter.

**Adventurer's Guild**

Kazu greeted Missy with his usual enthusiasm. "Hi, Missy!"

Missy smiled warmly. "Hello, Kazu! How was the quest?"

Kazike interjected, "We completed the quest, but a lot happened—"

Missy cut him off with a hint of irritation. "I was asking Kazu, not you, Kazike."

Kazu stepped in, his expression serious. "Missy, we completed the quest, but a man named Cloyde appeared in the middle of our journey in the dungeon."

Missy's brow furrowed. "Cloyde? The retired adventurer who disappeared? Why would he show up now?"

Kazu continued, "He wanted to take everything Kazike and I had. We had to fight him off."

Kazike confirmed, "Yes... (Why is Missy so curt? Is she having a bad day?)"

Missy sighed. "I see. Well, give me the scroll."

Kazu handed the scroll to Missy. "Here it is."

Missy inspected the scroll with a discerning eye. "This is what the noble family was looking for. They said the one who completed the quest should personally deliver it to them. They want to meet the person who completed it. (Though they might think Kazike did the quest because of Kazu's age...)"

Kazu nodded. "Alright, Missy. We'll head out now. We have a lot to do."

Missy reminded them. "Take care, Kazu. The mansion of the noble family is in the central part of Druzka."

Kazike rolled his eyes, his patience wearing thin. "Sure, old elf. Bye."

Missy ignored him, maintaining her professionalism. "Okay."

**After 10 Minutes**

Kazu glanced at Kazike with curiosity. "Kazike, you seem to have a close relationship with Missy."

Kazike shrugged nonchalantly. "It might seem that way, but it's nothing serious."

Kazu asked, "Is the noble family's mansion nearby?"

Kazike checked the quest details. "The Sorinade family... It's just a kilometer away. Let's go."

Upon reaching the mansion's gate, they were greeted by a stern guard. Kazike spoke up. "We would like to speak with the Sorinade family about this quest."

The guard, raising an eyebrow, asked, "What are your names and the name of the boy with you?"

Kazike introduced them confidently. "I am Kazike, and this is Kazu. He completed the quest."

The guard was taken aback. "A child? Guards, escort them to Lord Raku."

The guards led them through the opulent mansion to meet Lord Raku.

Lord Raku greeted them with a dignified air. "Good morning, gentlemen. How can I help you?"

Kazike replied, "Good day, sir. We've completed the quest you gave to the Adventurer's Guild."

Lord Raku inquired, "The scroll?"

Kazike handed it over with a respectful bow. "Yes, here it is. Kazu completed the quest, and I'm here to accompany him."

Kazu added enthusiastically, "Yes, Kazike came with me on the adventure!"

Lord Raku's eyes widened with interest. "This young boy? Is he the first S-rank adventurer in our country?"

Kazike nodded, a hint of pride in his voice. "That's right. Can we receive our reward now?"

Kazu wondered aloud, "What kind of reward will we get..."

Lord Raku smiled, clearly pleased. "Thank you for completing the quest. You may choose a reward from the following options."

Kazike's curiosity piqued. "Choose?"

Lord Raku explained. "First, my daughter wishes to meet and marry the person who completes this quest. Second, this box of gold contains five thousand gold coins. Third, this weapon called 'Wrath of God,' a dagger that doubles the speed and movement of its owner and can be inscribed with runes and given a name."

Kazike's mind raced. "A bride... I've been single for a long time. That could be an opportunity for me..." He then asked, "What about Kazu? Does he get a reward too?"

Lord Raku confirmed. "Yes, each of you can choose from the options."

Kazu's eyes sparkled with excitement. "I would like the dagger. I don't have a weapon yet. (I wonder if it can be inscribed with a rune stone I have...)"

Lord Raku handed him the dagger, a look of uncertainty in his eyes. "You can take it, but... I'm not sure if you can wield it due to its mana dependency... (He's holding it effortlessly... just how?)"

Kazu beamed, holding the dagger with delight. "REALLY?! THIS DAGGER IS MINE! (I'll have my own weapon! I'm curious about its power with a rune stone!)"

Kazike, feeling confident, said with a grin, "I'll marry your daughter. (I think I hit the jackpot! She's beautiful...) By the way, what's her name?"

Kazike froze, a look of shock crossing his face. "..."

Bitshu, the daughter, asked gently, "Is there a problem with my name?"

Kazike stammered, "No... (Oh my god... So many names to choose from, and it's Bitshu... She's beautiful, but her name... sounds like... never mind...)"

Kazu encouraged, "Great, Kazike! You'll have a girlfriend!"

Kazike, still in shock, replied with a faint smile. "Yeah... I guess so."

Kazu asked with concern, "Are you okay, Kazike?"

Kazike shook his head, trying to regain his composure. "I'm fine. Just... caught off guard."

Kazu, still puzzled, suggested, "Why don't you ask her more about herself?"

After their exchange with Lord Raku, they decided to return to the Guild and share the news of their rewards.

Kazu pondered, "What's smithing for? Could I make my own runed weapon?"

Kazike noticed Kazu's distraction and shook his head with a bemused smile. "Kazu, are you spacing out again? (This kid is so strange...)"

Kazu grinned, his mind racing with possibilities for the future.
