The terrace was quiet, the gentle sound of waves lapping against the shore creating a serene ambiance. Nia leaned against the railing, her arms folded across her chest as she stared out at the water. Zack stood beside her, his hands resting on the railing, his profile illuminated by the soft glow of the nearby lanterns.
"This place," Nia began, her voice barely above a whisper, "it feels safe. Like a bubble where nothing bad can reach us."
"That's the idea," Zack said, his voice equally soft. "You deserve to feel safe, Nia."
She turned to face him, her expression a mix of curiosity and vulnerability. "Why now, Zack? Why tell me all this now?"
"Because it's time and because I- I cannot stay away," he said simply. "You've waited long enough for answers."
