The guards brought Luna into the woods.
They had prepared a cave in anticipation for this moment. Sophie was behind them.
She mocked Luna and kept laughing endlessly at how she had succeeded in bringing her down.
Luna was speechless and helpless. She had pleaded enough with everyone to believe her, but all that fell on deaf ears.
She was left clueless at this point as she was led like a little lamb to the slaughter.
She dared not utter a word against Sophie. But she cursed her in silence.
"Take her in." Sophie's words rang into her ears like a magnetic force. Once again, her anger towards Sophie was rekindled.
The guards pushed her into the cave, not minding if she fell and sustained an injury. Sophie would really be more gladdened if that was the case. After all, she never liked her.
Luna had never been faced with anything more shocking than to be betrayed by her own best friend.
Sophie was the beast she never knew about all this while.
The guards' grip on Luna tightened as they forced her into the cave.
Sophie marched in behind them.
"How do you feel, my friend?" She mocked, placing a finger under Luna's jaw.
Luna shot her a hateful glare. If only she would be granted an opportunity to be with her alone, she wouldn't hesitate to rip her apart.
She didn't utter a word. She had a lot of words to say to Sophie, but silence took a better part of her. She wouldn't want to be emotional before her worst enemy.
Sophie's gaze fixed on Luna. She was becoming impatient by her silence.
She struck her with a fist. "Have you suddenly gone deaf, you bitch? You definitely do not expect me to repeat myself, do you?" She snarled.
Luna's face thumped backwards at the weight of her punch. She groaned silently. She stared at Sophie with the intense hate in her heart.
'Why don't you send your fucking guards out so we get to battle each other one-on-one?' She thought to herself.
Her voice was mean and serious. One could easily tell that with just the slightest opportunity, Sophie would be crawling under her feet and begging for mercy.
Sophie ignored her nonchalance. She turned to the door. "Do what you know how to do best." She said to the guards.
"Your wish is our command." The guards' voices echoed evenly.
Sophie shot Luna a glare. She giggled. "Do have a great time with them, little devil."
She walked out of the cave and slammed the door heavily.
Luna was now faced with the guards. She felt like the ground could open up and swallow her.
The hate in their faces spelt danger. She was definitely not going to escape being tortured by them.
One of the men came to stand in front of her. He was barely an inch away from her.
Luna could feel his hard breath against her face. He smelled of mild alcohol.
Luna kept a straight face, trying so much not to tear up before the guards.
The man commanded a lot of respect. His physique was nothing to be joked with.
His charming electric eyes, his hard slabs and more significantly, his charming face. Luna got stuck staring at him.
She soon got lost in his eyes. Though as awkward as it was, Luna couldn't help but take in the relishing beauty before her.
Her eyes traveled all over his being until it came resting on his succulent lips.
'Oh, how beautiful it would be to have a taste of those lips.' She thought silently.
The man shot her a glare and soon his face erupted into a smile. His next statement got Luna thinking he was a beast who had been reading her mind.
"You can come have a taste of it. I don't mind." He giggled and crossed his hands behind him.
Luna cursed herself quietly for being too loose to think in that direction, even when she was going through the worst times of her life.
"How the fuck did you know what I was thinking?" Luna marveled at the seriousness in her voice. "I'm sorry sir, I didn't mean to speak in that manner."
She definitely knew what would come after that if she had not apologized. She dared not speak to any of the guards in that manner.
The man smirked a little. He brought his hand to rest on Luna's shoulder.
"Sir? You can call me Derek." He sounded a bit calm this time around.
Luna was a bit relieved by the man's calm demeanor. If only she knew what awaited her, she would definitely not be so comfortable.
A smile crawled out of her lips. "If you insist, then who am I to do otherwise?" The guards exchanged puzzled glances at each other.
Derek's smiling face was suddenly replaced with a terrifying frown. He had a firm grip on Luna's neck.
Luna's breath was seized for as long as Derek's hand clutched firmly around her neck.
She struggled for oxygen as she made her hands around Derek's tight-fisted hands and hit them endlessly.
None of that got to Derek. He held onto her neck even more firmly. He was almost choking life out of her.
He finally thumped her to the ground and Luna began to pant heavily. She lay helpless on the floor as the pangs of Derek's grip on her neck dawned on her.
Derek brought his mocking face over hers. "You don't talk unless I ask you to. Am I understood?"
Luna let out a little cough. "Ye… Yes." She stuttered, her hand still accessing her neck.
"Good of you." Derek giggled. "I will need you to make the most of this moment while it lasts, because the next minute might be tougher than you expect."
Luna sighed at the sound of these words. She has never been so frightened by mere words. But there was something challenging about how Derek spoke to her.
The guards suddenly stopped on their tracks when the interrupting sounds of a person's footsteps crept into their ears.
They knew the person behind the footsteps. Luna cringed at the thought of being faced once again with a monster whom she once took as friend.
She cursed Sophie silently as the footsteps became more audible.
Sophie walked into the cave. She was pleased by what she saw. She gave the guards a rewarding handshake.
"You all have done well indeed. Now is the time for her to be handed over to the Lycan master."
Luna's ears widened as those words crawled out of Sophie's lips.
The thought of being handed over to yet another person after all these torture, made her instantly weak.
She was moved to go on her knees and plead with Sophie, but pride wouldn't let her.
She believed she had done nothing wrong to Sophie, so there was no need pleading with her. Sophie should be the one pleading with her and not the other way round.
Her hatred towards Sophie increased the moment she bent down to squat in front of her. She stretched her hand towards Luna's shoulders.
"Don't you dare touch me with those filthy hands of yours!"
Sophie was shocked by her audacity, so were the guards.
They marched towards where she was. "How dare you speak to the boss in that manner?!" One of the guards stretched his fists to hit her.
"No… no… it's fine, I can handle her." Sophie stopped the guards from doing anything funny. "Excuse us."
The guards bowed and marched out of the cave.
When they had all departed, Sophie took out the little chair lying by the bedside.
She drew it close to where Luna was, and sat on it.
"You surely know what would have become of you if I had not stopped the guards from pouncing on you, don't you?"
Luna spat viciously. "I hate you, Sophie. You disgust me!"
"Oh, I hated you before I even knew you. Or why do you think I was so quick to accept being your friend? You thought I ever liked you? Certainly not! Not after what your stupid parents made me pass through."
Luna's eyes narrowed as those words crawled out of Sophie's lips. She suddenly grew cold.
"What could my parents have done to deserve this from you?"
