Chapter 4 - SEDUCED

Chapter 4

Seduced

Alpha Damien was overjoyed to have cut off Luna. He hated her gravely for trying to hide such a deadly secret away from him.

He soon began to notice some changes from Sophie.

She was beginning to act overly nice to him. She barged into his chambers once when he was all alone in the palace.

She made her way into his room even without knocking.

Damien was puzzled by her audacity. She had never barged in on him in that manner. This looked strange to him.

"Hey! What are you doing here?" His voice shook with confusion. His gaze fixed on Sophie.

Sophie ignored him. She trudged on towards where he was.

She placed one leg on the table, slightly revealing her thighs at Damien.

"What if I told you that I am here to see you and spend some time with you? I hope I don't get prosecuted for this anyways." She chuckled and let out a weird smile as she approached Alpha Damien.

Damien striked a warning at her. "Stay back! Don't you dare come any closer." His voice echoed fiercely.

He now understood what Sophie was up to. He was in no mood to speak to anyone, let alone Sophie. She was the last person he had expected to see in his room.

But Sophie wouldn't back out so easily.

'Just in a matter of time, he will be back to his senses and he will definitely take me to his bed.' Sophie thought to herself.

She felt a hinge of victory as a smile crept on her lips. She had succeeded in taking Luna out of the way, Alpha Damien would certainly not begin to prove a hard nut to crack all of a sudden.

She slid her gown upwards, revealing the fleshy part of her thighs.

Damien knew fully well that Sophie was up to some mischief. But he never understood the reason why she would be so quick to attempt to seduce him barely minutes after her friend was arrested.

He shot a glare at her. The frown on his face now very evident.

"Have you no shame? Your friend has just been arrested and taken to court for trial, yet all you ever think of is to be intimate, huh?"

Sophie knew where Alpha Damien was driving. She believed a romantic peck from her would ease off whatever pain Damien felt.

She decided to give it a try.

"Ewww! What are you trying to do? I thought I told you to stay away from me?" Damien's voice raged with anger. He was utterly irritated by the way Sophie brought her lips at him.

A look of disappointment crept on Sophie's face. It dawned on her that Damien was never going to have anything to do with her.

She was upset and devastated. It was now obvious to her that Damien was only avoiding her because he still had some regard for his supposed mate, Luna.

She began to harbor a dirty plan to get Luna permanently out of his mind.

Damien was still fuming with anger. He glared at Sophie for having attempted to seduce him in his room. He never expected this from her, not now that her friend had just been sent out of the palace after being convicted of a crime.

He smacked his lips. "What kind of a friend are you? Your friend was just arrested a few hours ago and all you think of is to come into my room and try to seduce me? Wow to you, because you have totally failed."

Sophie was bewildered. Damien's words were deep and they cut deeply into her soul. She had a feeling that Damien would soon find out about her secret in no time.

She opened her mouth to speak, but words seemed to fail her at that moment.

"Alpha Damien! Come on! How can you speak about me in that manner? You and I know Luna is a bastard and a liar. She deserves to rot in jail!" Sophie tried to prove her point.

Damien shrugged and sat up. He fixed his gaze on Sophie, a smile quietly seeping through his lips.

"I know all these. I was never trying to say Luna was righteous or not guilty of the allegation. All I'm trying to point out is the fact that it's too early to be in another relationship now. I just can't. Mating has never been my thing."

Damien's voice hovered around her ear. His words kept resounding endlessly in her eardrums.

She sighed quietly.

"Okay, if you say so. I'll leave."

She marched towards the door. She was about to grip the door's handle when Damien's voice cut in.

"Wait!" She turned to face him. He was now walking to where she was. "I hope you are not upset."

"Like you care." Sophie countered. Her face looked mean.

Damien was confused. He thought he had said something bad to her.

He gripped her hand gently. "Please talk to me."

"Like you said earlier, it is too early to be doing this with you. I'm taking my leave." Sophie didn't utter any more words to him.

She gripped the door's handle aggressively and shut it with a loud bang.

"Fuck!"

Damien returned back to his bedside, looking dejected as ever.

He couldn't deny the fact that he was never in love with Sophie, he never wanted a mate anymore. But there was something about Sophie that he couldn't resist so easily.

Sophie walked into her room, anger seeping through her veins.

"He had the guts to refuse me. What insolence! I must let him know that I am smarter than he thinks." Sophie had other plans against Damien.

She was so obsessed about him that she thought of everything to do just to get him all to herself.

But she never wanted to make it obvious to Damien that she was self centered like he had said about her earlier.

She decided to carry out her plans gently and without revealing her anger towards Damien.

She decided to give him sometime when he must have forgotten everything that transpired between them.

Damien had a disturbing dream about Luna.

He was in an enclosed room with her alone. She suddenly burst out in tears as she narrated an ugly incident to him.

"I attended a party today and I was accused of destroying one of the most expensive decorations in the party. I am certainly not guilty of this, yet these people sent me out of the party arena. I was disgraced and battered in front of the large crowd."

Damien felt for her. "I'm really sorry for all you had to pass through. I wish I was there to stand in for you."

Waking up from his sleep, he was troubled. He had never read meaning into any dream before, but this particular one about Luna looked too real to be just a mere dream.

The door creaked open all of a sudden. Roderick walked in.

The instant Damien realized his presence, he quickly put out the worried look on his face.

"Hey, how are you today?" Roderick fumed a smile.

He nodded quietly. "I'm fine, Alpha Damien. And how's your highness doing today?"

"As you can see, I'm chilling." He forced a bright smile on his face. He never wished to bother anyone with his problems, not even his beta.

But Roderick was swift to find out what was going on. Even before Damien would speak about it, he knew he was badly troubled.

He threw an unexpected question at him.
