Chereads / A NIGHT WITH MY SECRETARY / Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5

Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5

"Fuck it" Adeline cursed as she dashed out of the bathroom, the time was already five minutes past seven. If she was going to get to work by 8am then she had to get dressed in ten minutes. What about breakfast?

Adeline cursed as she looked through her wardrobe, she woke up a little late today, her eyes scanned the fabrics that were lined up in front of her. She didn't have the time to pick colours and so she decided to go with a simple black knee length skirt and a blue sleeve shirt.

She quickly slipped into the skirt as her eyes looked at the wall clock, just a few more minutes. Adeline didn't want to be late today, not after what she pulled up yesterday. Right now she should be trying as much as possible not to get on her boss's bad side.

After putting on her skirt, she she quickly put on her sleeves, the sky blue coloured sleeves matched with her hazel eyes. She didn't need to look in the mirror to be sure that she was okay, she had gone to work with this before and she was sure she still looked the same.

"Shoes" Selena cursed as she looked for her black heels, she couldn't remember where she had dropped them. The last time she had them on, she was tired and so she just... Damn it.....

"Adeline" She called her name out as if that was enough to let out a little of her frustration, her hair was still messy and her actions were only making matters worse. Adeline finally found the pair of shoes under her bed, she held them in her hand as she rushed over to the mirror in her room.

She didn't know what to do to her hair, her brown wavy hair was already hanging around her waist. Adeline had never gone to work with her hair down before, she wondered if today would be the first for her, though she was tempted to try it, Adeline had to bring herself back to her senses, she couldn't risk any rumor spreading.

Adeline quickly tied her hair in a ponytail, even with that, one could still see the length of her hair. Adeline thought to put it in a bun but that would only make her spend more time here. Speaking of time....

Her eyes drifted back to the wall clock and she couldn't help but panic, at this rate even if she was to leave her apartment now, she would still be a few minutes late.

Adeline looked at herself one last time in the mirror as she tried to gauge in on her reflection, she added a little lipstick to her already pink lips making them a little brighter. She picked up the brush and dapped her face with it.

"God I'm going to be late" She spoke with a grumpy expression on her face as she glanced at her reflection. She grabbed her bag and then she dashed out of her room, she walked straight into the kitchen as she looked around. Last night she had to eat burger for dinner, she was sure that if she didn't eat something for breakfast then she mights just give in.

But Adeline was still contemplating on what to do as her eyes looked at the foodstuffs in her kitchen. It would take ten minutes to quickly prepare something simple to eat before leaving but then that would delay her. She only had thirty minutes left to get to work, she was suppose to excort her boss to a meeting which was suppose to start by 8:30am. Now she was going to be late, and how ironic is it that she was the one who fixed the time for the meeting, if she had known that the day would start like this then she would have fixed the meeting for 9am.

Adeline was pulled out of her trail of thoughts when she heard the sound of her doorbell ring. She was so grumpy, she wanted to ignore it but the door bell continued to ring.

"Go away" Adeline screamed in frustration, but then a few seconds later she realized her response was a bit too harsh.

Adeline sighed as she walked towards her door and then she opened the door, her initial plan was to apologize for her words But she was dumbstruck after seeing the man who was standing there.

....

Dylan glanced at the time on his watch, he had his body leaning on the door of his car as he waited with his arms crossed. He had been in that position for twenty minutes now, waiting, he didn't think he had ever waited this long for someone.

'Where is she?' He asked as his eyes scanned the area, he was sure this was the place, he could tell because he saw her car parked just a few meters away from the apartment. The place was silent and it looked liked she was the only one around, for some reason Dylan found it strange that she choose to live here, but he wasn't going to question anything, not yet.

At this rate, Dylan was sure that he was going to be late to work today, shit..what was he even thinking, he was the boss, it was impossible for him to be late. Dylan looked at the small apartment in front of him, there were other houses around but her's stood out, it wasn't difficult for him to tell that she was inside.

Dylan was slowly loosing his patience, his jaws ticked with every passing second, he was on the verge of walking there and kicking that door open.

'What the fuck is taking her so long?'

"Josh, don't you think the boss is acting a little strange" The man asked as he watched from a distance. He nudged his friend by the shoulder wanting to know if he was the only one who was thinking about this a little different.

"Will you be quiet Zade, just because he's standing there doesn't mean he can't hear you" Josh replied with a bit of annoyance in his tone.

"What? I'm just curious, you see he's been standing there for twenty minutes now. Is he not suppose to be in his office" Zade spoke still trying to get information from Josh. "Well you are the one who drove him here, did he tell you anything?" Zade asked again, now his gaze was fixed on Josh who looked like he was getting tired of his questions.

"No, all he said was the address" Josh replied honestly. He did find it odd that his boss had asked him to drive him here but who was he to question. Unlike Zade, Josh would rather keep his mouth shut and mind his business. He looked over to the other car and saw that the other guys were still standing high on alert. Zade was the only one who was different, he was rather intrusive and would always ask questions, though it was part of the job.

"Well the man is clearly loosing his patience, I can tell even though I'm standing away from him, I can already sense his wrath." Zade joked. He was silent for a while and then he saw his boss walk towards the house.

"Oh no, whoever is behind that door is going to regret not coming out" Zade said with a little smirk playing on his lips. He looked like he was expecting something entertaining to happen.

"Shut your mouth Zade" Josh hissed out as he looked out waiting in anticipation.
