The meeting went well, though they had to start the meeting fifteen minutes late because of her. But still, they were able to convince the investors and now the planning committee can start bringing up blue prints.
Adeline had gone back to her office, Mr Wayne had gone out, he didn't tell her where he was going and she didn't bother to ask. Adeline went through some files and checked his schedule. Mr Wayne was suppose to have a meeting later with some business associates, but that should be by dinner time.
Adeline heard the sound of her tummy grumbling again, she sighed and decided to take a break from her work. Her gaze trailed to the time on the wall, it was not lunch time yet. Adeline felt like she would faint if she had to wait till lunch time before having breakfast.
'Ding'
The sound of the elevator door bell broke her out of her trail of thoughts. She straightened up on her chair as she watched him walk out, he had a bag in his hand as he strode towards his office accompanied by his two body guards.
Adeline looked at the bag and she recognized it to be take out, he went out to get food. Adeline wondered if he got any thing for her, she wanted to ask but that would be so not proper.
With a sigh Adeline slumped back in her seat and just watched him wordlessly, he seem to be paying no attention to her presence even though she was sure he could feel her eyes on him.
Adeline continued to watch him, for some reason she was curious to see what he was going to do with all that food. It was a big bag and Adeline could only imagine the different types of food he had inside of it.
"Miss Silvers"
Adeline snapped when she heard the voice, she had been so focused on watching Mr Wayne that she forgot to acknowledge the presence of the two men who were still standing by. But now one was standing in front of her desk.
"Yes" Adeline answered with a smile as she forcefully pulled her eyes away from the food.
"The boss wants you inside his office" The man spoke.
Adeline paused for a while as she observed him, her lips parted, she wanted to ask questions to be sure of what she was hearing but she felt that right now, if she opened her mouth to talk then she would only stutter. With that thought in mind, Adeline gave a simple nod and then she watched the men walk towards the elevator.
Adeline turned to look back at him and then she saw that he was already looking at her, his eyes were fixed on her tiny figure still seated on the chair. The office walls were glass and so it allowed her to see anything and everything, unless he pulled the blinders which he usually does whenever he has important visitors.
Adeline gathered all the strength she could muster before getting up from her chair, she could feel a part of her begging her to deny his request but another part of her was a bit curious to see how all of this would end.
Her heels hit the floor gently as she approached his office doors, she could feel his gaze on her like he was watching her every move. Adeline wondered if it was even possible to have your full attention on one person, because to her it seemed like that was what he was doing.
The doors open and she walked in, now she was in the same room with him, she was a little shaken. She remembered what he did and said this morning, his words were still lingering at the back of her mind.
"You called for me" Adeline spoke trying as much as possible to avoid eye contact. The aroma in the air was tempting and she could only guess that the dishes on the table was the cause of it.
Dylan was quiet as he observed, he could tell she was trying her best not to look him in the eyes. She was nervous, her hands kept holding on to her skirt like she was trying to rip them off, not like he had a problem with that, infact he would love to see what was underneath that straight skirt of hers.
"You were hungry right, I was out so I grabbed something . Eat" He ordered as he pointed to the table and the seat in front of it.
Adeline glanced at the table and she had to bite her lips to stop herself from salivating, she looked at the two couch that were placed in front of the table.
"Thank you....thank you for he food Mr Wayne....but ... I'll be more comfortable if I eat in my office outside" Adeline said honestly. Even though it looked like she was turning down his request, she could only hope that he understands her reason. Sitting here and having brunch with her boss was not something that could be overlooked.
Adeline finally looked at him and she noticed the displeased look on his face, she noticed how his pupils dilated and his facial muscles looked tense as he stared at her. Adeline wished she could take her words back this instant, his look right now was sucking the air out of her lungs.
"Sit" Dylan ordered again and the way he spoke this time didn't give her any room for arguments. His voice firm and he even went ahead and held her hand, he dragged her to the couch and made her sit on it. His figure was towering above her as leaned in closer, his hands held both sides of the couch with his face inches away from her, could feel his breath fanning her face.
"I do not tolerate disobedience" Dylan spoke with so much restraint in his voice, it was taking all the self control he had in him to not pin her here right now and make her....shit....he had to get all this stupid thoughts out of his head.
