The sun was high in the sky as Folorunsho made his way towards an empty field. There waiting for him was none other than the woman from before. She had revealed the other day that her name was Diane Cambion. Folorunsho was familiar with her last name as someone with it had been a significant figure in Pedtro's history but he could not recall anything particular about them or what they did. Once together, Diane began their first lesson.
"How much do you know about Revel?" She asked.
"Enough," Folorunsho replied. "I know it's the building block of the universe and that only Revel users can perceive it being used. Oh, and that Espers aren't physically capable of using it,"
"So the basics," Diane commented. "I heard from Francine that you're fairly proficient in using Revel?"
"I mean, I can do a few things with it like call back items over short distances that I have infused with my Revel and expand it rapidly enough to make something explode, but I hardly have enough to use a proper Revel Art,"
Diane took a better look at Folorunsho. She could see within him a very small amount of blue energy coiled up in his centre. All beings had a certain amount of Revel within them from birth, with the amount that they have varying from person to person. This distinction extended to proficiency as well. Individuals with small amounts of Revel could be proficient enough to learn a Revel Art and vice versa. What she could see in Folorunsho, coupled with what she had been told, he was lacking in both areas. He had ingenuity went it came to its use, but as he was currently, he was destined to never learn a Revel Art.
"What about that Revel you used?" Diane asked.
"What about it?" Folorunsho shrugged.
"Your current Revel is pitifully low, but that day you were brimming with so much Revel that you could hardly contain it in your body, What happened to it,"
"Well... it isn't something I can consistently or conveniently use so when it comes to fights, I tend not to bank on it," He explained.
The nature of Folorunsho's contract with Dullahan allowed him to access the Revel from the House of Duinn for a short duration after he revived and no other instance. He had no particular issue telling Diane that but the terms of the contract stated that no one must find out about the House of Duinn through him, specifically not through word of mouth. Due to his shift demeanour, Diane could tell that what she wanted to know was not something he could freely tell. Fortunately, the specifics of the Revel were not too important to her, as long as it could get the job done.
"I suppose we can address that later," She said. "If that Revel of yours obeys the same rules as the regular kind, then learning how to fully utilise what you have most of the time will still go a long way,"
"Though you might never be able to use a Revel Art," Diane began.
"Thanks for reminding me..." Folorunsho muttered.
"You are already aware that there are other utilisations of Revel outside of one. They may necessarily be as strong as a Revel Art, but in a critical situation, these kinds of skills can prove to be crucial,"
"A Revel Art is essentially a Revel user manifesting reality through the universe's energy. Zealots who worship Revel describe it as using the power of god to bring forth 'miracles' but that kind of religious dogma is inconsequential."
"When Revel resides in your body, it is in a constant state of movement across several waypoints. This is otherwise known as 'Revel Flow'. The way your Revel Flow' is layered influences what Revel Arts you can use adequately as well, though, with enough effort, one can alter theirs,"
"What does this have to do with anything?" Folorunsho asked. "As you've painstakingly reminded me I can't use a Revel Art,"
"Revel Flow has other uses outside of dictating Revel Arts," Diane stated. "If you possess a certain amount of control over your Revel, you can reinforce or enhance your physical capacity, regardless of your Revel,"
"Whoa, seriously?" The young man exclaimed. "Then why doesn't everyone who has a Revel Art or at the very least, possess the ability to use Revel do it?"
"It's a fairly difficult technique to master for someone with no prior understanding of how Revel functions," Diane explained. "As for those who possess Revel Arts, there are few who know how to do this, but when the majority have the ability to shoot fire from a distance, such a skill isn't something they would consider necessary,"
Diane walked behind Folorunsho and placed her hands on his shoulders. She pushed down on them, causing him to have to fall to the ground and sit on the floor.
"What I will require of you today is to move your Revel throughout your body and familiarise yourself with your Revel Flow," Diane Instructed. "How you do this is completely up to you,"
Folorunsho closed his eyes and tried to enter a meditative state. His breathing slowed and his senses dimmed, the sounds and senses becoming almost unnoticeable to him. As his ability to perceive the external world declined, his sense of his inner workings was amplified. Folorunsho could almost feel his blood flow through his veins as his heart pumped rhythmically and his lungs expanded and collapsed. He was deep but not deep enough. Dulling his senses even further than before, his organs became muted as well until he was concentrated on nothingness.
Within that darkness of himself, he saw a small blue ball of energy burning brightly. Folorunsho tugged at it mentally, causing it to get pulled in one direction. When he let go of it, the ball regained its original form again. The young man prodded at the energy again in an attempt to see how far he could push it. The ball seemed to branch flatten into several branching tendrils that spread all over Folorunsho's body.
Some tendrils did not go far, but others managed to reach invisible nodes in Folorunsho's body. Once such a node was touched, the corresponding body part grew warmer. From deep within, he could feel his shoulders, head, neck, back, arms, palms, knees and feet grow warmer. The tendrils spread throughout all the nodes and connected back to the centre, forming a sort of loop. Folorunsho pushed the energy even more, causing the energy to loop around even faster and his body to grow even hotter Folorunsho broke away from his concentration to find himself covered by a faint glow of a Revel aura. He had been covered by such an aura before but this time it was different. He could feel it not just around him, as if it were leaking out of him but coursing through him.
"This is pretty cool!" He exclaimed.
Diane observed the aura surrounding Folorunsho. Though she did not show it, she was impressed that he was able to nail down controlling his Revel Flow so quickly, even if it was the initial step. Though one's Revel Flow was innate, manipulating it consciously to any degree was extremely difficult. The fact that even with how little Revel he had, he was able to do it instantly was nothing short of impressive. Diane could not help but feel a stroke of excitement at the prospect of teaching someone like this.
"Now that you have your Revel Flow in order, let's move to the next lesson,"
