Naytia explained everything she knew in detail to Zanphia and Zenover. To them, they were absolutely being bombarded by information.
Out of everything she said, the most notable one was undoubtedly the fact that Jogrin killed his own mother at birth. Both Captain Ryov and Kapel had already been informed of that, but they were still willing to compromise with Proxer's request.
Of course, Zanphpia and Zenover were struck with immense fear as soon as they heard that.
From the moment Jogrin crash landed to when she first met him, she didn't know much, to be frank. All she had knowledge was the fact that he crash landed and was sent to hospital.
The extent of injury that he sustained, the regeneration power witnessed by the surgeons, or the fact that he needed no food, drinks, and sleep to survive weren't anything she was aware of yet.
Of course, the bombardment incident, as well as how the soldiers under Proxer's command went overboard with their attacks and almost killed him, were also kept in the dark.
Therefore, Zanphia and Zenover weren't told of these.
"Those were indeed objective descriptions of what had occurred regarding Jogrin thus far, to the best of your knowledge. You have my gratitude, Naytia."
As soon as Naytia finished, Kapel thanked her. He then continued.
"I shall also disclose the events that has not been mentioned by Naytia. Before that, Naytia, I would like you to know that Proxer did not let you know about this since it was my order."
"Huh?"
Kapel addressed Naytia. Somehow, he knew that Proxer hid the bombardment from her, so he lied about the reason behind that. Proxer's eyes widened in surprise as he softly muttered. Fortunately, Naytia couldn't hear nor see the state Proxer was in since she was focused on Kapel.
'Quite the considerate guy.' Jogrin thought to himself as he crossed his arms and closed his eyes, giving the impression that he was noncommittal about what Kapel had to say.
"I understand, Uncle Grunmyt." With an earnest tone, Naytia responded.
Zanphia and Zenover also braced themselves.
'I know it's for them to consider while deciding, but is this really a good idea? Tossing everything at them...' Jogrin was concerned whether Zanphia, Zenover, and even Suzannia could handle what was about to be told to them.
Nonetheless, he was in no position to voice his opinions, as it might influence the votes in some way.
He could deliberately try to thwart Kapel, making himself seem more suspicious and receiving at least 3 votes against him living under the same roof, but he preferred to stick close to them, in order to better protect them from whatever harm that might come their way.
Despite that, even if he was forced to stay in the middle of the waters, he still had some methods to counter that. They, of course, were by no means normal.
"Shortly after waking up, Jogrin had faced a series of assault from the soldiers with bullets and missiles... And Proxer was in the brunt of it."
"WHAT?!" Zanphia, Zenover, and Naytia unanimously froze up. Suzannia was also showing signs of apprehension.
"The cause of the assault in the first place, as reported by several soldiers, was because they felt threatened when approached by Jogrin."
Everyone, except Proxer and Suzannia, sent apprehensive gazes toward Jogrin, who maintained his demeanor.
"Hold on! He-"
"Calm yourself, Proxer. I have not finished what I want to say. As I have said, the series of assault were targeted at Jogrin. Despite getting Proxer caught up in it, he protected him from sustaining any physical injuries. As for how that was achieved, only Jogrin can answer."
Albeit knowing what Jogrin did for Proxer, their apprehension didn't show any sign of diminishing.
"Jogrin saved Papa?" Suzannia, with her head inclined, asked Kapel.
"Yes."
"Wow!! Jogrin, you're amazing!!"
'She completely missed the point about me causing it... But still, Kapel is concealing what I told him about "mind tampering." It's surely going to be a factor for their decisions, so why?' Jogrin felt weird about this, opened his eyes and stared at Kapel.
Suzannia, mistaking it as the stare being directed at her, showed a hearty smile at Jogrin. Kapel, who also noticed it, gave him an intense glare. It felt like the glare was strong enough to blow him away.
'Looks like he would really love to keep it a secret for now...' Jogrin sighed resignedly.
"It was Proxer who requested to have Jogrin transferred here, with the intention of giving him accommodation using the Maladin household. However, due to some circumstances, it had been deferred, so he had been staying in an abandoned house which is within the woodland on my right."
Somehow, after hearing that, Captain Ryov and some of the Knights pitied Jogrin, according to "emotional perception."
"I invited Naytia so that she can personally state her decision. However, it seems that all members of the Maladins are here. In lieu of this, we shall turn this into a ballot." Kapel then further elaborated each the choices available in the ballot.
There really was too much Kapel was hiding to point that Jogrin felt uncomfortable, especially the part about "mind tampering." It was unlikely he did it to protect Jogrin. Then, could he have some ulterior motives? Perhaps Jogrin could ask about that soon.
But now came the time for the Maladins to vote.
Captain Ryov and the other Knights remained silent as they watched on.
"Grandpa Grunmyt. What's... 'bell lot?'"
Kapel repeated what he said about the ballot to Suzannia in a simplified manner.
Meanwhile, although Jogrin despised the creaks made by the chair back in the abandoned house, he wished that it was here for him to sit on, as he anticipated that this was going to take a long time.
"Let us get started then. All Maldins shall cast their votes. Even if there is only one 'against,' it means Jogrin cannot live in the Maldin household. I have brought-"
"OK OK!!! Me first! I want Jogrin to live with us!"
The first one to express her opinion was Suzannia who interrupted Kapel, who didn't really understand what had just been discussed. Though talks about Jogrin made her a little uncomfortable just now, it wasn't sufficient to make her change her mind.
And as expected, she voted "for."
Jogrin shot Kapel a dubious look, to which the latter replied after noticing it.
"Suzannia is a Maladin. Therefore, she has the right to vote... However, I have not said all I wanted to say. Write your choices in a piece of paper that I have prepared for each of you."
That was how it should've gone. With Suzannia jumping the gun, she unintentionally made things a little complicated.
In other words, the others might shift from "against" originally to "for" in light of Suzannia's openly expressing her vote. That was why ballots for major elections had to be conducted without each voters knowing which candidate the others voted for.
Nonetheless, Suzannia's vote was valid, since as Kapel mentioned, she was a Maladin. This occurrence could very much change the fate of Jogrin moving forward.
On the other hand, although it was clear which side Proxer was going to pick, since this whole thing started because of him, he appeared hesitant. He stole incessant glances at the other three family members who hadn't cast their votes.
Much like him, they, including Naytia, also couldn't make a decision. At the same time, they were all aware of why Proxer recklessly brought Jogrin here. One word could fully convey it: "Telestrophe." Though they empathize with Proxer, they were also forced to find out how dangerous Jogrin was.
Facing one of the toughest choices, they were stuck between a rock and a hard place.
