Inspector Rose woke up in a cold sweat, her body aching from the intense battle she barely survived. She blinked against the harsh light filtering through the curtains, trying to push away the remnants of pain that still lingered in her muscles. Her phone buzzed on the nightstand, displaying several missed calls from work. She groaned, feeling a deep exhaustion, but she knew she couldn't ignore it any longer.
