Inspector Rose leaned back in her chair, observing Stella closely. "Your story was very interesting and touching, but like I said, you will work for me. But before then, you have to be well trained," she said, her tone firm yet sympathetic. "Stella, prepare to see me tomorrow." With that, she rose and left the interrogation room.
Two officers entered shortly after, injecting Stella with a sedative. She felt a wave of drowsiness wash over her and succumbed to it as they carried her to her room.
Stella woke up and sat quietly in her room, her thoughts swirling around the news she had just received from Inspector Rose. She placed her hand gently on her abdomen, the realization sinking in. Was she really pregnant with William's child? The mix of joy and sorrow overwhelmed her. She was ecstatic about the new life growing inside her, but the pain of William's death was a heavy burden on her heart.
