As Stella saw Inspector Rose leave with the others, she turned, carrying her small load with one hand and holding Emma with the other, and headed into the building. Entering the elevator, the door was about to close when someone stopped it.
Officer Daniel stepped into the elevator, joining them. "Sorry," he said as he entered. As the elevator closed, Officer Daniel's clothes got caught in the door. In his attempt to free himself, his load collided with Stella's, causing everything to fall.
"I am so sorry," Officer Daniel said, bending down to help pack up the scattered items.
"It's nothing," Stella replied, as she too bent down to gather her belongings.
As they packed, Officer Daniel secretly slipped one of his items into Stella's load.
"Hey, pretty," Officer Daniel greeted Emma, pulling out one of the candles from his load. "Do you want one?"
