Chapter 6 - The Prophecy Of Hope

"Ryuga, I will wait for you, even if it takes you an eternity to come back to me. I will wait for you, never forget this promise, and beware my fa-------" a woman, red hair , blue gauntlets with shattered armour bloodied and lying on the field spoke with a voice messaging her deepest feelings. The light slowly vanishing from her eyes. Irla Reign...

A distant memory of the past flashed in Ryuga 's mind earlier during his battle. At the moment he is leaning against the wall inside the restaurant.

He is trying to dig as much as he can in his memories but.... "Nothing is coming up about her." He muttered under his breath.

As he got up, Bianca walked into the restaurant with a worried look on her face. She slowly walked close to him with teary eyes.

"Are you okay?"

Her worries were warranted after all, Ryuga 's clothes were tattered and he had a sword unlike any other pierce him through. Then he just walked away like nobody's business, that's just not normal.

Ryuga looked at himself and chuckled softly. "If you're that worried you should at least lend me a room to change, don't you think so?" He spoke as though he was just joking, but Bianca walked over to him to help him to a room on the second floor as though he was sick.

Ryuga was silent, but when Bianca tried to enter the room with him, he quickly came to a halt and stood straight up.

"Thanks for coming this far, but I think I'll be fine now. I'll be sure to call you when I'm done". He spoke as he gestured for her to leave.

He entered the room after seeing her walk down the stairs. He closed the door and rested his body against it.

[Imperial Grounds~ Inside The Imperial Castle Astron]

Emperor Zarten is standing in an open garden with a high ceiling and large circular opening for sunlight and rain to enter from above. He's looking at the blue sky as clouds drift in the sky.

Momentarily, the man who was with him earlier in the meeting room came and stood before him.

"Tell me Rouchefort, who was that?" He asked nonchalantly.

"I had made a request to the Alchemist earlier, and I am sad to say you might not like to know Who that was." He stopped to get a response, but Zarten didn't budge, so he continued.

"I believe that was ... Ryuga Xicor your majesty."

"But that can't be right. Many people said he was dead. I even took measures to be certain about it. So how is he alive?" He still spoke, in a calm voice.

"This may sound like madness but,,,,,,, I think HE is the monument. After all if it was an ancient you felt, you would know who awakened." He explained

This sounded like fantasy. The Monument was a chosen being who would end all wars and chaos across the Mythrill Ring.

Only one war was won - the one that took place 1700 years ago. And no one has shown any promise in winning the next.

The Ancients, on the other hand are beings that possess tremendous power thanks to the immense knowledge they guard and harbour. But of course no one has seen one in over 6000 years.

With this, there was no knowing what was truth anymore. Anyone killed by the emperor never came back to life regardless of who they were.

After thinking for some time, Zarten spoke, "Rouchefort, I know some of the eight primes disapprove of my rule, but I doubt they would challenge me, right?" He said the last part seriously.

"No your majesty, even with the empire still gaining it's former power and resources, no one would be foolish enough to challenge you."

"This is most unfortunate. I guess this might just be Nexus Empire 's first loss then." Zarten said clenching his first as he started walking towards the entrance to this garden.

At The Restaurant

Xicor opened the door and walked out, he had changed into clean clothes. He dressed in red pants and a coat over a white shirt.

The top three buttons of the shirt unbuttoned to reveal his smooth looking chest. The coat only put on his shoulders. His black boots complementing his attire well. One could say he should have an easy job swooping ladies off their feet.

He found Bianca staring into space as if lost in thought. "I hope I didn't cause any trouble for you", he spoke, snapping her back to reality.

"No trouble at all, it's just that because of the events earlier, the elder of the village called for you." She responded in a voice that sounded low.

"Tell the elder I left without saying". Xicor turned and started walking away.

He walked to the door and out the restaurant he went, but before got far, Bianca was behind him clutching tightly and pulling at his coat. Xicor stopped to look at her face which was pleading, now this felt like deja vu, a real blast from the past.

"I am sorry, but I have to leave now--", he said.

"I hope you were not leaving without saying goodbye after my summon and the destruction you caused in my territory." A voice coming from behind Xicor cut him off.

By sensing his aura and looking at his face, Xicor remembered who this man was. He was one old fossil. Lord Eldritch Esca, the leader of the mercenaries and Esca family.

"I didn't think mercenaries can be elders, I guess I should gather more information," Xicor spoke.

"Times passes and things change you know, and I was never a mercenary, I just kept them in control, that's all." Lord Esca responded.

"Now that's certainly interesting, but you see, I don't really have much time. I think we'll have to postpone this little chitchat of ours." Ryuga said as if telling him he'll have to talk to him in the future.

"If your pressing is that incoming tremendous energy, I can help you with it. Just spare me some of your time." Lord Esca tried reasoning.

Instead of responding, Ryuga walked straight to Eldritch and passed him without a word as he walked away. Eldritch could've tried to stop him, but that would probably be a bad idea.

Xicor walked a few steps from Eldritch before what seemed like a bolt of lightning flashed in front of him. It actually came from behind but he dodged it just before it made contact with him.

"Lord Esca, I am seriously not into fighting right now. It is my first day after the slumber that took me thousands of years you know--" he spoke sounding annoyed as he looked behind him.

Surprised look was etched on his face in almost an instant as he realized that Eldritch didn't launch that attack.

But then he noticed something, this attack came from one person he most definitely won't forget easily.

Handsome

Alluring

And amused

A smile curved up on Ryuga 's lips.
