Chapter 8 - Traitor Who Escaped

The names of the two people who entered were Starr Crimson- of the Thundergod Sword - and Ezekiel - of The Judgement. They walked past Ryuga and Heli and bowed to Zarten.

"What a shame." Ryuga spoke in disappointment.

"That is enough! Stop this madness now Ryuga." Lord Heli 's voice echoed, shattering the building tension that filled the room.

"You are squeezing a little too much there, don't you think so Lord Heli?" Ryuga spoke with a serious look on his face. But Heli paid no attention to him.

"I believe I was asked why I am here. And so I will give a clear answer to you all fellow primes and old friends," now Ryuga 's tone was piercing and clear.

"One, I wanted to ask his majesty. Why didn't you restore Arcadia? Two, why is Irla Reign dead, yet you promised she will be fine? Three, where is my sister, whom you promised to find and protect if I helped win the war?" Ryuga felt a lump build up in his chest. But he had no intention of showing weakness here. He was uneasy, and he couldn't tell why. But all that was just about to be cleared.

"How can I restore the home of the man who killed the princess of the Nexus Empire? Why is Irla dead you ask? Because you killed her by having her use an altered spell formula. And your sister, she is in the Triangle, that was her punishment." With those answers Zarten then activated a magic circle under Ryuga and lord Heli. "Your death penalty will now be delivered, this instant."

Lord Heli kicked the ground and let Ryuga go to avoid the spell, landing steps back. Magic circles around Ryuga 's wrists appeared and Ryuga tried to put up a barrier but Ezekiel and Starr sudden appeared on his sides and held him with white magic chains.

His Shadow Eye activated but it wasn't fast enough as blades of crystals pierce him from behind and front. Blood gushes out of his wounds and mouth. As he falls to the floor and a pool of blood builds up around him.

He grits his teeth in frustration in realising that his wounds aren't healing and his strength is slipping away from him. He could feel his energy vanish and his mind getting hazy.

If he doesn't get out of here now, he'll most definitely die here, there's no way such an outcome would be acceptable.

A smile broke on his lips as an idea that could only be explained as madness came to him. His only chance would be to separate his being as a whole. His consciousness and soul, his body and core will have to break apart.

His Shadow Eye glimmered with clear brilliance before a torrent of magic exploded out of him, but all of it dissipated before it reached Zarten and Ryuga fell down. The spell was a success, and his body seems to be crumbling. Xicor raised his head to look at Zarten, "I will be sure to find out what happened on that day. I... promise you... those who are guilty will pay, your highness." With that Xicor 's body falls to pieces as it dies.

"Well this is disappointing. Two Necromacs and a prime just failed to capture one boy, who's core hasn't even awakened." Lord Heli spoke mockingly. "And you guys just stood there and did nothing, this really is no fun at all. Anyway, what are you going to do about the little fellow?" He said, walking towards Zarten.

"Alain, Valerie, Quinn, Helios, Sebastian, Scarlet and Zedd, you're hereby ordered, To Kill Ryuga Xicor on sight if you find him within your worlds" Zarten gave an unchallenged command to the primes. "If anyone helps him in any way or any of his former teammates help him, they shall share the same fate. That includes the Necromacs, regardless of who is protecting you."

Everyone present understood their orders and the repercussions of disobeying them. Everyone left thereafter, and Heli was left behind.

"I told you to be sure to kill the boy, and now you are going to face a problem you could have avoided. Do you realise what this means?" Heli spoke with his arms closed.

"What is making you say that, I wonder? Is it because you suddenly feel bad for accusing him? It's true that we still don't know who altered the magic formula, so lucky us we can just pin that on him and get rid of him. Only few people knew about it so you best keep being as ignorant as you've always been." Zarten said as he got up from the throne to leave.

"So you're saying you won't try to find out who killed your daughter, what a bad father you are"

"Well who knows, maybe he will find out who did it, desperate people are terrifying. Especially if they're considered traitors." Zarten said as he walked out the exit.

"So he doesn't want to get into that topic huh? I guess I'll also wait till the time comes." Lord Heli smirked as he turned to leave the throne room.

...

On the far side of the continent, lies a small village called Blanz. In an alley, the ground opens up and a brown ball of energy comes floating in the air. It then pops from below and Ryuga Xicor falls to the ground without any clothes. His wounds aren't healed, they are still as fresh and open.

This wounds won't be healed with magic, the more he uses magic the worse they will be. The best way would be to get some herbs.

Ryuga draws a magic circle and pulls out some clothes and a cloak. He gets dressed and covers himself with the cloak before heading out of this alley. He walked for some time until he came to what looked like a marketplace of medicine and herbs.

Coming out in a rush was a girl in her mid-twenties -so it seems. She dripped and was going to slam into Ryuga but he simply dodged her and caught her by the back of her clothes. He then walked away without facing her.

He walked in and put two gold coins on the counter. "The Queen's heart please."

The seller smiled in content as he passed him a pouch. "It's rare to find people who know of this. Thank you for good business."

Ryuga walked out without saying a word. His body still feeling as though it's on fire. He headed in the same direction since that seemed to be the safest way out of here.

Coming to the same alleyway, he heard light whimpers of a woman. He had to urge to just pass, but he walked into known chaos.

"Sorry to disturb you but can you please let my sister go?" He words made the thugs turn to him. The girl they were trying to steal from was one from earlier.

"If you're her brother then you must be more loaded. She seems to have money to buy medicines almost everyday, so how about you two share with us? You know. Spread the love." One of the three thugs spoke in a mocking tone.

"Of course, can you hold this for me." Ryuga passed them each a pouch of coins.

Just when they pocketed the money, it was as though gravity was against them. The pouches felt heavier.

"Oh, I forgot to mention this. The pouches had a green crystals. Meaning since I altered them by multiplying their weight, they'll, blow up very soon." He spoke hoovering above them.

Ryuga walked to the girl and offered to help her up. He walked her out of the alley and sealed it with an illusion so that no one will walk into it.

They walked a few steps away from the alley, but Ryuga 's pain worsened more and his body lost more energy, causing him to stagger and lean by the wall.

The girl turned to try and help him, but realised how bloody his clothes were under the cloak.

"Go...now, I'll be fine," he said gasping for air. 'At this rate this body won't last long enough for me to retrieve my core.' he thought.

"Please wait here, I'll go and get my horse." She assured him before leaving.

Ryuga sat down by a corner as he looked at the beautiful blue sky. Moments later his vision became blurry and his eyes closed as he lost consciousness.
