Chereads / The Lord Of The Nin9th Fortress / Chapter 2 - Awakening

Chapter 2 - Awakening

In the world full of darkness as far as the eye can see, an eerie silence reigned. A figure of a sword started glowing deep in this dark abbys.

Around it were four black pillars. Below it was a large ball of chains held in place by chains that extended to the pillars.

From inside the ball of chains, purple energy oozed to the surface and as of in response, the blade glowed even brighter.

The purple energy dissipated and the blade started cutting away at the chains as if under telekinetic control. The ball of chains fell to the ground and a deep sound echoed the seemingly endless void.

"Calm your rage, Resemblance."

A voice echoed from the ball of chains. With creaking sounds the chains started snapping piece by piece and falling to the ground.

The purple energy oozed from the ball of chains and with an explosion, blew away the chains in all directions.

Before the blade that glowed white was a manin place of the huge ball of chains. Black hair like darkness washed over his shoulders in this eerie darkness.

His figure could only be seen as black in this dark place. He opened his eyes slowly like the Lord Of Darkness in his domain.

His right eye was gold and left eye has an hourglass shape right in the centre. He reached out to the sword glowing before him and with a slight contact, the sword vanished with it's light.

The man raised his left hand and a magic circle appeared above him. His eyes glowed with radiant white light and he started walking.

It was hard to tell the direction in this black abbys, but he appeared to know where he was headed.....

After walking for what seemed like three hours, he came to a halt and his beautifully glowing eyes got fixed on something before him.

A humongous gate was before him. Not only was it emanating terrifying amounts of power, this power was pure darkness.

He stretched out his hand to the gate to push it, but before he could even make contact, a sound of lightning resonated and eight lightning blasts shot from the corners of the two large gate doors directed at his hand and arm.

The blasts were blocked by a transparent barrier just on the surface of the clothing on his arm.

Because of the built up energy from his arm and the lightning, the clash exploded with a huge "BOOOM!!!!!" sound, which resonated a distance further than one could be able to measure.

He moved his head as if scanning the gates. As if being aware of something, a slight smirk curved up. He gently rested his hands on the gate and magic circle like bracelets floating around his hands appeared.

This time there was no lightning strikes from the gates. Whatever magic caused the lightning was being heavily negated by him.

He pushed the humungous gates that he thought could weigh about as much as the moon together - he had never carried the moon. The gates creaked loudly as they opened.

On the other side, bright light could be seen from the corridor of what could be no more than 15 metres.

"I see, the ample space magic. And interesting old trick." He muttered before walking through the gate heading to the outside of the corridor.

Ample space magic is a type of magic that separates and seals dimensions - or space. The stronger the person who is sealed is , the longer it stretches the barrier of space. But can be manipulate - mostly by the caster - by suppressing it's magic source.

But its presence here served as a trigger  to alarm someone on the outside in case something came out of this desolate dark realm THE NETHERWORLD.

The man walked out of the darkness and into the light which was and his home <Cristeria>.

"Finally I have returned, finally Xicor Ryuga returns "

The beautiful fields of green grass that stretch long and wide could be clearly seen from this cliff edge -where he was after exiting the long corridor. The sun shone beautifully in the blue sky in which no clouds could be seen and the warm breeze of air blew nicely. Truely this was beautiful sight to behold. But ....

"Hwaaaaaaaaaaa ...."

A loud sharp scream that could rapture eardrum resonated from the portal. Xicor 's eyes glowed and a magic circle like bracelet appeared on his right wrist, he grossed his fingers pointing at the portal and the gate inside closed along with the portal.

The magic circle spinned and the gate inside the sealed dimension had spells engraved on it.

"Still troublesome even after thousands of years, are women this persistent or is it just you I wonder," he spoke turning to the edge of the cliff.

Looking at the bottom of the cliff which has a large forest, Xicor could see a village a little further from it. "If I was in a hurry, I think I could probably get there instantly, but what would be the fun in that?" Ryuga thought.

He stretched his right hand infront and the magic circle appeared around his wrist. He started walking straight to the edge of the cliff.

Instead of falling, like glass, transparent surfaces appeared mid air and he walked on them. One could say he was walking on air.

But like a flood, memories started pouring into his head. He clung his head with both his hands causing the magic circle to disappear.

The transparent footing cracked and and broke into pieces without a moment's notice and Ryuga went falling to the bottom of the cliff.

With a "BOOOM" sound, he crashed into the ground, sending minor shockwaves across the forest and raising a cloud of dust. He got up coughing and dusting himself.

"Well, I guess those were my memories. It looks like someone or something Tried to tamper with my memories or could it be that..?" For an instant his eyes slightly widened in suprise.

With a little smile he shrugged whatever idea that came to mind off. He got up and started walking in the direction he saw a village in.

He kept searching through his memories for something, but even he doesn't know what exactly. He couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that shrouded him.

After some time, he came to a village - the one he saw. Walking further into the village, he came to a restaurant. "Everytime Meal" was the sign put above the huge open double doors.

The restaurant was rather well decorated with flowers on both sides of the doors. The wall is painted with light brown paint on the outside and blue on the inside.

"What a lame name this place has despite looking so beautiful" Xicor whispered to himself as he walked in.

A waiter and a barman stood behind the counter, a waitress in a blue dress and black cloves stood facing the entrance in her beautiful pink shoes. She had a memorable and beautiful face but that's not what captured Ryuga 's attention.

Xicor was drawn to her by her beautiful red hair. Maybe now he knows what made his feelings of unease, he has forgotten something he shouldn't have. Someone close to him perhaps.

'But there's no way anyone can manipulate my mind, so I couldn't have lost my memories.' he thought to himself  before walking to the seat in the corner by the window.

The red-haired waitress came to him and put the menu on the table with a slight bow. She turned to leave but Xicor stopped her by ordering a meal without looking at the menu.

"My name is Bianca and may I take your order?"

"Today's special and a glass of your fine beverage will suffice".

"Of course, I'll bring it just now" she answered and left.

Xicor smirked while looking through the window as if seeing someone though from afar.

"It appears that they really are after me. This is sure to be troublesome". Just then, the waitress came and put his meal before him. She turned to leave but Xicor asked her a question.

"How many years has it been since the war of Black Territory?" He asked

"I'm not sure but it could be roughly 1 752 years, that's as far as the history books can say at least". Bianca answered

Xicor thought he misheard to the point that his mind went blank for a moment. Bianca left Xicor in what looked like a state of daze. Xicor enjoyed his meal in silence and relaxed on his seat looking calm.

He turned his head outside and saw about fifteen men walking towards the restaurant in an organised manner.

"Looks like you've realised. Men of Nexus", he said with a serious look.
