Zack finds his seat in the foreground next to student called Atsushi Daishi on his left, and on his right there's a student called Arakan Emiko who is just between him and Mitsumada Sora who is the fourth seat in the row.
The teacher, a man in his thirties with gray hair, bored looking face walks in: Hello, first year cadets. My name is Kishi Mamoro. From now on I will be the one who is responsible of all your actions during your years of the academy. You can call me Ki-Sensei if it's easier for your tongues. And for the questions you ask yourselves… No, the monsters you fought in the acceptance exam wasn't real. They're fake monsters made using magic. And no the whole training you got before the academy doesn't make you even close to the power of the weakest among the real knights. And this academy isn't like any school you went to in your life. Hope I could kill any curiosity living in all of you.
A boy with an angry look, has black hair, very strong and scary dark aura around him walks in introducing himself to Mamoro. He's Atsushi Daishi, the student who's supposed to sit next to Zack.
Daishi: I have one question, Sensei… I heard that 2 of the cadets here were the trainees of very strong knights before applying to this academy. To be exact… one of them is the trainee of the vice captain of the elite squad. And the other one is the trainee of the captain of the royal guard squad. Am I right?
Mamoro: Guess I heard something like that. I got informed that we have some special students this year. But this doesn't concern you Atsushi.
Sora gets up: Ki-Sensei if you excuse me but I wanna answer his question. I'm the trainee of the captain of royal guard squad. If a classmate insists to know I think it's better to tell him.
Daishi: Here she is… the spoiled girl of the high ranked knight. Well… where's the other one then?
Zack: Ki-Sensei said that this doesn't concern you… Anyways, let's see what you want. I'm here. What do you want?
Daishi: I just wanna say. If any of you both get in my way…
Daishi holds Zack from his shirt so Zack punches him in the face sending him back.

Mamoro throws pens at both their heads: No fighting in my class-…
Zack: I'm sor-…
Mamoro: I didn't finish… In this academy, if 2 students have a problem. We fix this problem by a duel in the arena. Both of you meet me at the arena of the academy after the class.

Mamoro: Alright, Akira Zack and Atsushi Daishi from first year, you both challenged each other into this fight in front of all your classmates. It's a one time challenge to settle everything. are you ready?
Sora thinks to herself: Akira Zack?… He has the same family name as that bastard… Is it a coincidence… I want to make sure… But how…
Mamoro: Only rule is not to kill your opponent. Everything else is allowed.
Zack confidently: Peace of cake…
Mamoro looks at Daishi who stays silent: Well if you both ready… Let the fight begin!!
Daishi unsheathes his sword as it grows bigger into a huge great sword and he rushes at Zack trying to hit him with it but Zack unsheathes his sword and blocking his sword by clashing with him.
Zack: Not Bad.
Zack jumps back and raises his sword up as the sky gets filled with clouds and a thunderstorm happens. Zack sends lightening bolts at Daishi but he rushes at Zack dodging all the bolts. He kicks his side with his knee and then their swords start clashing in a high speed with really strong swings. Both of them jump away from each other and then each send a huge energy slash at each other but both slashes stop at the middle of the arena.
Zack: what the…
Sora and another student with blonde hair and blue eyes wearing white and gold clothes called "Michi Menori" standing in the middle of the arena. They both are the ones who stopped the slashes.
Menori: See you got some fast reactions Mitsumada-San.
Mamoro: Mitsumada Sora and Michi Menori, explain yourselves.
Sora: I don't know about him. But you said there's no rules. This includes joining the fight in the middle. Let's say I have a problem with a side of this fight…
Menori: Aside from that. If these slashes hit both of them they'd be dead which is against the rules.
Mamoro: Fair enough…. Continue the fight.
Daishi rushes at Zack but Menori kicks him to the other side of the arena
Menori: Come on… It won't be fun if I didn't get involved in this fight. And you are a bit exciting Atsushi…
Daishi attacks Menori with his sword but Menori dodges his sword swiftly.
Daishi in anger: Who do you think you are…
Menori gives a friendly smile: The classmate who will defeat you in a minute.
"Meanwhile at the other side of the arena"
Sora attacks Zack with her rapier but Zack blocks her attack at the last moment. The block saves him but the impact breaks his sword.
Zack: Wait… you're that girl who was yelling at Sarume.
Sora: And I guess you're his younger brother… Am I right…? Same family name… Can't be a coincidence…
Sora kicks Zack in his stomach using him as a platform as she jumps back off him and turn at him.
Sora: If so… I won't go easy on you. After all… Your family member took whatever left from my family…
"Meanwhile with the other fight"
Daishi dashes at Menori and keeps trying to slash him but he manages to dodge all of the slashes with ease due to his swiftness. Menori jumps back and makes a bow out of light shooting a light arrow at Daishi who manages to dodge it at the last minute but it still slashes the side of his face making it bleed.
Menori: Won't you use your element? For your info, I'm no less powerful than your past opponent. I don't wanna finish the fight without you going all out after all…
Daishi: As you wish…
Daishi increase his speed and rushes behind Menori instantly and tries to land a one hit to finish the fight on him but Menori glows in light then disappears suddenly.
Daishi: W-What?!
Menori appears behind: Surprise…
Menori spins around himself slashing Daishi both legs at Achilles tendon making him unable to move: Did you like the surprise…?
Mamoro: Cadet, Atsushi Daishi have lost.
Menori: And I surrender. I was testing an opponent and got what I wanted.
Daishi glares at Menori with anger while being moved out by academy staff.
"Back to the other fight"
Zack: What did you mean when you said that Sarume Caused your brother's death?
Sora slashing his shoulder: That's none of your business.
Sora continues attacking Zack and he keeps blocking her attacks
Zack: Are you Tahiru's sister? The knight died on Sarume's squad… Thinking about it you kinda look like him…
Sora jumps back dropping her rapier: H-How… How did you… know about him…?
Zack looking sorry: Because I was there… I witnessed everything… I-… I am sorry for your loss….
Sora: Ki-Sensei, I Surrender…
Sora walks off and passes by Zack on her way out telling him to meet her out.
