"An hour later in the same day, the alternative arena of the academy"
A tall woman in her thirties with blonde hair and blue eyes stands in the middle of the arena: Welcome to the alternative arena of the academy, cadets. I'm Haru Eri the Sensei who's going to continue your test. As you know, Kishi Mamoro got injured so he won't be able to continue the test for you. Anyways, it's a good chance to get to know each other as I'm gonna be the Sensei of class A. So.. shall we get started?
Eri looks at the list: Mitsumada Sora, come to the Arena.
Sora walks to the arena unsheathing her sword: On your mark, Sensei.
Eri: Let the timer begin.
Sora sets the whole arena on fire and then she shoots fire from her legs to make a jet like move raising herself up. Eri throws a small rock at her leg and keeps watching.
Sora: tsk… ridiculous. As if this is going to stop me…
Sora notices that her leg starts turning into stones
Sora: What the hell is that…
Eri smiles as she tricked Sora: You'll slowly turn into a stone statue. Isn't that interesting?
Sora lands on the ground: This doesn't seem as easy as I thought…
Sora shoots a fireball at Eri but she makes a rock wall blocking the attack and Sora is petrificating faster and faster…
Sora thinks: ugh at this rate I'd lose… What am I supposed to do… If I go all out I might burn the whole place…
Sora looks at her lower half which is all stone: Ugh… Sorry miss Amaya but I will have to gamble on my control…
Sora sets her whole body on fire stopping the petrification. She runs towards Eri who takes a defensive stance but Sora suddenly jumps in the air shooting a fire ball towards Eri but it misses.
Eri in sarcastic voice: Can't see because of your flames?
Sora disappears and appears where her fire ball is: I wasn't aiming for you…
Sora puts her hand to Eri's back firing a huge wave of fire at her forcing Eri to jump away so Sora rushes getting the flag, right before she falls to the ground unconscious as the fire fades but Eri catches her before she falls to the ground.
Eri smiles impressed: Good job Mitsumada… It seems I'm going to enjoy teaching you guys…
"After testing twenty cadets later."
Eri yawning: You guys are boring… No one but Mitsumada could pass since we started… Next, Subaru Takai.
A boy with dark blue hair giving a poker face walks to the arena: Alright then…
Eri: let the timer beg-…
Takai sends a huge wave of water towards Eri before she can finish her sentence so she makes a wall of mud to block it . He gets a chance creating a tall arm of water to grab the flag but before he catches the flag from the water arm Eri sends 2 stone poles at him. Takai makes a wave of water under him sending him away and the arm throws the flag towards him as he catches it.
Eri: impressive… anyways… Next, Michi Menori
Menori walks to the arena with his hands in his pocket and smiling.
Eri: let the-…
Menori flashes his body in light and disappears reappearing near the flag then flashes back in the arena holding the flag.
Eri mumbles: I hate when they do that… let me finish my sentence at least…
"After testing 2 other cadets."
Eri: Last cadet… Finally… Akira Zack.
Zack walks in the arena: Finally… I thought my turn would never come.
Eri: Be grateful. You saw me fighting all of your mates… You sure developed a way to win this battle…
Zack: maybe…
Lightening Zaps starts chasing Eri as she dodges so Zack throws his sword towards the flag breaking it so it falls to the ground. Zack runs to catch it but a stone golem hits him at his side.
Eri shrugs: Had to show another trick of mine… sadly…
Zack keeps hitting the golem with his sword and lightening but the golem is made of stone so it doesn't affect it. It stays like that for around 3 minutes.
Zack: Fuck this…
Zack sends a very huge lightning bolt at Eri so she jumps away giving Zack one second to act as he kicks the golem's hand breaking free and jumping away. Eri dashes at him quickly and goes to slash his leg with her sword but he blocks her slash with his arm armor so her sword recoils back. At that moment Zack flips shooting a lightning zap at the flag sending it away and he jumps at the same direction. He lands on his both hand with one of them catching the flag before back flipping landing on his leg but he stumbles and falls on his butt.
Zack: Ouch… Anyways, Eri Sensei… I think I passed.
Eri smiles: You did… Test is over!
"Two weeks later, in Sarume's house."
Zack is making coffee: I still don't understand this surprising visit… Menori… It's not about just making friends, is it?
Menori sitting in the living room: I'm trying to be friendly, you know.
Zack serves him a cup of coffee and looks him deep in the eye. Zack knows that he has something in mind and Menori doesn't even hide it.
Menori: Nice house… Heard it belonged to your brother who you live with… Where is he?
Zack sits on the opposite: Let's keep him out of our chat. Are you here because I'm a trainee of an elite knight.
Menori takes a sip of his coffee calmly: Not surprising to me knowing that your brother is their captain…
Zack confused: H-How did you know…?
Menori: I know a lot of things though… Anyways… My interest in you isn't because your trainer… Not even your mysterious family. It's actually about your element… Seeing your control… You don't seem to be training since childhood which is strange for a divine element user…
Zack more confused: Divine element?
Menori: Let me explain how does the elements work… There are the common elements, which any human can learn to use them and they don't require any special physical or spiritual training… as expected they're the weakest. Next, is the gifted elements, these elements requires a lot of training on both levels, physical and spiritual. It requires also something called the will of the gift. Last and most important are the divine elements. Stories say that the ones who are able to learn them are related to the first royal family.
Zack: The royal family which died years ago… Damn it people you believe some bullshit…
Menori: I wouldn't believe the story either but… When I saw a demon with my eyes… I made sure that these stories are true…
Zack sarcastic but nervous: Saw a demon!? It's a stupid thing…
Menori shrugs: Believe it or not… Anyways, thanks for the coffee. Was good getting to know you, Akira Zack! See you soon we will be classmates until the end of academy years anyways…
Zack escorts him to the door and looks at him as he walks away.
Zack thinks to himself: What a weird… Did he really see a demon… Tsk… Fuck it…
