Fire stared at me frowning her head silently while I looked at my menu screen. I ignored her for the moment to look at the my menu screen.

I sighed as the list to the prey's skills kept getting upgraded to the list things that insured that I fighting this crazy old lady was going to be a sure ticket to ending my second chance at life. I shook my head. I had no leads on feel for where to go next.
"Mr. Sage. I'm running low on power for my ride." Dwight said.
"Is there a place you can go to refuel your ride?" I asked.
Dwight shook his head. "I got what I need with me in the truck. Just be a bit a time to refuel and get everything going." He said.
"How long?" I asked.
"Half-hour Mr. Sage." He said.
I sighed but nodded. "Alight. We can spare the time. I'll use the time to figure out the right course of action to take." I said.
Dwight hurried to park in a parking lot. When the vehicle stopped he quickly got out and got to work on his cabbie. I sat in the back with a quiet Fire as she stared at me watching me closely. I finally looked at her. "What's your questions on your mind?" I asked.
She turned her body toward me brushing her knee and leg up against me and then holding her position close to me. She stared at me. "I'm wondering. If your not Marcus. What happened to him?" She said.
I shrugged. "He died a final death I think. I was offered his body by someone and I took it. That's just it." I said.
"Offered his body by who." She asked.
"A lady called Luna." I said.
Fire stared at me and then smiled slowly. "So you were just walking around in the land of the dead and a goddess just offers you a body that's in another world and you just take it." She said.
I shrugged again. "Death isn't as mysterious or scary as you might think. It's a rather boring place to me. I happened upon her and a soul that was burning beside her. She offered me a job and new chance at life. So I took it and now I'm here. I supposed your disappointed seeing the face of the man you loved." I said.
Fire shook her head. "Not really. I did kill him along with my sister. He was quite the bastard and in the end he had burned away any bridge we had together." She said.
I nodded staring at her. "So why did he turn against you?" I asked her.
Fire shook her head. "He didn't. We turned against him. Marcus was always a wild card. Always on the edge of darkness and madness. He loved us and bound us to him out of greed, ambition and loneliness. We went along with it but his lust for the darkness finally won over him. He threatened our children and pack. So we had to take him out. I thought he accepted his fate but even then he still couldn't accepted what he had allowed himself to become and fought the packs judgement on him. I have no regrets about removing his heart and roaring in victory over his death." She said.
I stared at her. "So he didn't have no shot at redemption at all in his life or was it just a straight shot to hell. for him" I asked her.
Fire waved a careless hand. "I had one hope for Marcus when he met Luna and she tried to warn him off the path he was going but even a goddess like Luna couldn't save him. Why are you linked with the witch?" She asked.
I frowned shaking my head. "What witch?" I asked.
Fire frowned at me. "The bitch from the library. Wells." She said.
I wrapped my hand around her throat. Fire started fighting me pushing and clawing at my hand and wrist. I kept my hold on her and stared at her until she stopped and went motionless.
"Angela Wells. Is my family now. You will not disrespect her at any time in my presence or otherwise. She is my pack sister." I said calmly.
Fire snarled at her. "She's mated. Your wasting your time." She said.
I nodded. "Of course she's mated. I met her mate. He's good man. You will not disrespect his female. You will not disrespect my sister. Do you understand me?" I said calmly.
Fire stared at me whispering something at me. I shook my head at her. "Do you know who Luna is? Have you met her?" I asked her.
She frowned pausing in her whispering words. "Once. I did not see her face only-" She said and then stopped and stared at me. "How similar are they?" She asked.
"Every way possible. You will not disrespect my sister do you understand me?" I said.
Fire stared at me. "I will not disrespect your sister Angela Wells at any point for any reason. I promise." She said.
I nodded letting go of her neck. I studied her. "It's difficult for you accepting the reality of the situation but it is what it is. I'm Danny Sage. Take me as I am or not at all. I'm fine either way but I have to get to finish the job because I'm having sex with Erica tonight." I said.
Fire stared at me rubbing her neck. Her long leg rubbed against my mean. "Your strange. What did Luna do you before she sent you to this hell hole realm?" She asked.
I smiled. "She kissed me." I said.
Fire closed her eyes and sighed for a moment before opening them again to look at me. "You're still apart of my pack. So plainly speaking we're on the same team and we could work together for today only." She said.
I frowned as a thought came to me. "Why did he agree to fight you? It doesn't make sense to me even now." I said.
She stared at me. "Do you have his memories of that day?" She asked.
"I have bits and pieces of the memories. Nothing solid to go on. I had you in my hand just now. I've had Erica in my hands to. I could easily snap your neck. Your no more powerful then Erica either." I said and then answer came to me. I shook my head looking away from her now back to my menu system screen that had popped up now again.
"We cheated. We used magic, he couldn't fight against him." Fire said.
I shook my head as I used my hand to scroll down the list of Mabelle's history. "You also had a little help. Alright. We have a rogue witch that's gone nuts and attempted to curse a kid. She's still in town so what's her next move be." I said and then obvious conclusion came to me.
"She's still in the city then she's going after the princes. So it doesn't matter where she is." Fire said.
I nodded. "The question is where is the sons of Dr. Blair? She's going after them again this time more directly sense she couldn't take them out a distance. Just any sniper or assassin." I said.
"Are you certain she's still here?" Fire asked.
I nodded. "Yeah. Oh yeah. I'm sure. I almost caught her old ass in the back but she left a trap for me to step into. She won't leave the city until the twins are dead. She won't be able to do it." I said and felt this in my bones.
"How you know that?" Fire asked. "You can't know that for sure." She said.
I shook my head. "I don't know it. It's what I've concluded from the information I got. I asked my sister's opinion on this old lady. She didn't say it outright but Big sis says the old bitch has gone insane with mental illness."
"Shit! A mad nutter witch with warlock powers." Fire said shaking her head. "That's insane. An old Were-wolf gone feral mad is just as a dangerous monster put without the magical shit storm of power." She said.
I nodded. "We can't fight her straight on. She'll only end up killing us. We'll have to heard her to a spot were Angie can take her out while we protect the boys. I said.
Fire frowned shaking her head. "We're not paid to protect some Draconian brats. Why do you care?" She said.
I stared at her. "I'm Danny Sage. I'm not Marcus Bloody Williams. I care because I do and it's my job to protect and help people but beside that fact. The longer the twins stay alive and she keeps missing her chance the more likely she'll get more desperate and reckless enough to make more mistakes and careless enough for us to herd her into a space she can't run away from us." I said.
Fire smiled showing off a set of pearly white fangs. "Hmm. Now that makes a lot more sense." She said.
"Why is this bitch after the him?" Fire asked.
I shook my head. "We'll get there when we find her. Alright. So now. All we need to figure out is where the twins are at present and wait for an opportunity." I said.
Dwight got into the driver's seat and turned in his seat to look at us. "I was listening to you to from the back. Are you sure this white witch has gone mad?" He said.
I nodded. "Can you help us out to avoid the Dr. Blair from losing his shit on the city trying to still this old bitch?" I asked.
Dwight stared at us and nodded. "I think I can Mr. Sage. I think I can." He said.
