"Hahaha, splendid! I didn't expect you lot to actually kill it."
Bruno, the Village Head, said in excitement.
Leo dropped the wolf on the floor with a loud bang, his brows slightly furrowed.
"Don't just leave it there. Quick, bring it in here." Bruno said again, gesticulating towards his house.
The other hunters started to whisper, and Ralph walked forward with an ugly expression.
"Village Head, three of our number are dead. I think their families need compensation." He said.
Bruno's smile turned into a scowl.
"Okay, ten copper coins for each of their families. And you lot can can share five kilograms of the wolf meat amongst yourselves. I'll hold on to the..."
"This wolf weighs close to seventy kilograms." Leo interrupted.
"The felt can be sold for at least a hundred Silver coins."
[1 Gold coin = 10 Silver coins = 100 Copper coins]
Without waiting for Bruno's reply, he continued:
"The martyrs' families should have at least ten Silver coins each, all the hunters will share the sixty Silver Coins, and you can keep the rest...
The wolf carcass is entirely our own. Of course, that is merely my suggestion."
Leo gave a 'good-natured' smile, staring at Bruno.
Bruno's expression turned green, instinctively wanting to retort, but one of his aides quickly came forward and told him how Leo killed the Flame Clawed Wold almost single handedly.
In a daze, he reluctantly nodded his head.
"Um, we'll do as you said then."
"Good, then." Leo said, looking at Bruno mockingly.
Bruno gritted his teeth and left, lacking the face to continue staying there, while the rest of the hunters cheered.
A few minutes later, when the wolf was being skinned, Ralph came up to Leo.
"On behalf of all the hunters in the village who went on the expedition, I would like to say thank you." He said gratefully.
" Oh, it was nothing. I merely detest being cheated." Leo answered casually.
"But still, what you did was honourable. I have to warn you though; the Village Head will probably hold a grudge."
Ralph said, whispering the second part of the sentence.
Leo looked in the direction of the large house, seeing Bruno in front of it talking to some Elders, while occasionally staring at him with angry eyes.
Leo merely smirked, and Ralph said nothing about the matter again.
"By the way, all the hunters un-anonymously decided to give you fifteen percent of the wolf's profit."
Ralph said.
Leo didn't stand on ceremony and nodded.
He took his share of ten kilograms of meat, as he was the main damage dealer.
Leo's return home was met by a small figure pouncing on him, obviously Little Shawn.
"Uncle Leo! Food! Food! Food!" Little Shawn yelled excitedly, having seen the meat in the basket that Leo carried with him.
Leo chuckled.
"Yes, it's food."
After a bath, Leo had a short rest, before putting his relatively impressive culinary skills to the test.
Half an hour later, wolf meat soup was ready, along with some rice.
Leo patiently served the food into two wooden bowls.
Immediately after the first spoonful, Little Shawn was hooked and literally stuffed his face full.
Leo laughed heartily and started his own meal.
The meat did not have the rubbery texture that normal wolf meat usually had but was instead relatively tender.
While eating, one could feel the warmth permeating throughout one's body.
He focused his attention on the attribute panel afterwards and was mildly surprised.
---Energy: 115% ---
His Energy had increased by 3%.
Deep in thought, Leo mused.
'It seems like higher quality food gives an increased amount of energy!'
Then looking at the quantity of meat left, he shook his head helplessly.
'This will barely last ten days.'
