Lion cub
It was an unusually cold day. The classrooms were filled with talkative students, all wishing they were home. Leon Striker, the "hero" of the story, sat in his usual group.
They entertained themselves with meaningless conversations. He didn't speak much, he was more of a listener. If he was to speak, it wouldn't be about anything interesting. He wasn't a risk taker LIke Riot was, or a party addict like Luke or just an all round fun person like Allia. He was just him, a boring person. His approach to life stopped him from having the kinds of fun the rest of the group had.
He hoped it would get better later on in his life, once school was all over and he could actually start living.
"Hey you alright lion?" Allia asked in her usual upbeat tone. "You look shittier than usual, or is it just me?" she asked as she giggled a bit.
"Haha, very funny. I'm just tired" he said grumply, like their personality, the way they dressed was pretty different from one another. Leon was reserved and only wore black, he didn't wear any makeup to cover up the dark spots under his eyes that he got from working overtime at his job. Allia and the rest were different, Riot wore extremely baggy clothes and always had gloves on, he mostly wore white, and it went well with his blond hair. He was the shortest in the group, even so, he was someone that not alot of people messed with. Luke was different, he wasn't feared, he was respected. He was known for getting chicks and hosting the sickest parties almost all the time. For some reason people respected that about him. Even though he partied as much as Leon worked, He barely looked tired. His brown skin was always perfect and his hair was always neat. That's what ladies loved about him, how he was so clean all the time.
Then there was Allia, she wasnt feared, or really respected, she was just her. Kinda like an NPC in the games that Leon played. He didn't have anything against them, but they were helpful and chill at times.
"Leave the kid alone Allia, you know he doesn't like being called that." Riot said with most of his attention on the game he was playing on leons portable.
"You don't mind, right lion" Allia teased with a smirk on her face as she ruffled Leon's hair. Leon was the youngest of the group, Allia was the oldest. And because of that He was treated like everyones younger brother.
"Hey, Riot. Is Kent coming today?" Luke asked half asleep.
"Nah, he said something about a trip to his grandma's house. I don't know, I wasn't really listening to what he was saying" Riot replied. Kent was another member of the group, he wasn't around a lot and for that reason Leon didn't know much about him.
Luke shrugged and went back to sleep.
"Do y'all have any plans for the weekend?" Allia asked leaning against Leon who was a bit flustered to say the least.
"N-no not really, I'm just going to work again" Leon replied trying to keep his cool.
"You work too much," Riot told him as he put his feet on the table Luke was resting his head on. "Take a break once in a while, kid. You haven't been to one of Luke's parties have you!?"
"Well, I'm having one tomorrow, you should come" Luke said to Leon as he pushed Riots legs off the table. "And since tomorrow's saturday, you won't have to worry about work!" Luke added as he leaned against his chair.
"I guess" Leon said, he wasn't quite sure if he wanted to come even if he had free time. He would rather sit at home and keep himself busy with something. Going out wasn't really his thing.
"Come on Leon. you need to meet people, have fun for once and relax" Allia added nudging him playfully.
"Going to a party isn't my idea of 'fun'." Leon told her with a tired expression.
"How would you know, you haven't given it a try." Luke said with a smile. With all the pressure being put on him to go, he sighed and agreed. Maybe he would find something fun about the whole thing. He thought to himself.
The teacher came in, "see y'all later, I'm out" Allia said as she walked out of the class with riot following close behind.
"Yeah, see ya later" Riot said with his focus still on the game.
"Alright, let us get started!" The teacher said enthused. Leon quickly got to his seat and got his text book out. "So let us turn to page 75" the teacher continued.
Fridays, they were usually shorter than all the other days. But it felt like it was longer this time around, leon thought to himself as he walked out of the class. With all the notes he had taken, he was understandably tired. Now he could actually relax. Luckily the vending machine was close to his class, he was the first person there. "Guess I'm lucky" Leon thought to himself as he flipped a coin into the slot and ordered a chocolate. He quickly got it. "Keep this for later!" he said to himself cheerfully as he made his way to the roof, where the group would usually be. On his way he bumped into a girl, long hair and glasses, she wasn't from his class. "Sorry about that" he said with a bit of a nervous smile on his face. She seemed tired, like him, she simply sighed and walked away.
