The weekend quickly passed by uneventful with each day Winter stalks Clinton house and ends with disappointment. The maid would pass a knowing glance towards where she is hiding and shake her head, Winter came to know this means he isn't back.
Jude had gotten them a vital lead on where he was for the past few days.
She and Tobias decided to go after the class end.
Joseph walked up to her and have Tobias a subtle glance. Tobias wisely stood up and went to another seat.
"How are you?" He said still facing the the conjured board.
"Fine" Winter replied.
"Any problems?"
"None"
"Good"
"Mm"
"Come over for dinner at my apartment" He finally turned his face to her, his eyes filled with expectations.
"I want a whole feast" she also missed her brother and besides neither she not Tobias knows how to cook, they have been surviving on takeouts and easily made food.
"Okay" Joseph tenderly rubbed her hair and stayed with her throughout the lesson.
"See you at seven thirty" he said and left.
Tobias came back and asked.
"Am invited?"
Winter rolled her eyes and signed. He forgot his fear of Joseph for food.
"Is this another chance of yours to get close to my brother?"
"What!!" Tobias coughed hard patting his chest to calm down forcefully.
"I told you to calm down that I will get my brother for you" She said seriously " I will tell him tonight"
"I forgot, I have to make a plate of noodles today to celebrate a family tradition" Tobias hurriedly stopped her, smiling nervously.
"Don't be shy, I am there for you" Winter patted his shoulder seriously with no hint of smile on her face.
Tobias"..." I rather be lonely.
"Come on let's go"
Tobias gave up and just followed her to the club Jude describe.
"Hello" Jude suddenly appeared behind them.
Tobias patted his chest on relief, for a moment there he thought it was Joseph behind them.
"We are going to the place you said" Winter said not bothering to reply to his greeting.
Jude nodded" I went there to confirm yesterday and I can't help but be shocked"
Winter raised a brow" by what?"
"You will find out once you get there" He said mysteriously.
They walked faster and reached the club. They entered and Jude went to book a private room.
"This is beside the room he normally books" he explained.
"Why were you shocked?" Winter asked not wanting to get too familiar with him.
Jude pulled a weak smile and a look flashed through his eyes.
"The person you are looking for doesn't fit the description, you said unfeeling yet feeling to summarize and he is the second child in three children but his way of living doesn't suggest that"
She furrowed her brows, this person knows her too well to even hear her conversations. An extra eye must be kept in him, he doesn't seem like he is here for something from Josephina more like he is deliberately getting close to her for something and intentionally saying this things will make her feel like he is in control
"what do you mean?" She asked with two meanings
"He is extravagant, wasteful and arrogant" Jude spat out calmly obviously choosing the one to answer.
Winter eyes grew deep and dark, she took a deep breath and calm her nerves.
"Do you have a picture?"
That person doesn't sound like the one she knows or did she get it wrong?
"Unfortunately no, like your former investigator, he is too protected and secluded"
Even him can't get a picture.
"Okay" Winter nodded.
Jude closed his eyes and stretched his arms separating his fingers. He moved the energy from his body to the tip of his fingers and rubbed them. He released his fingers sending vibrations from them and directing them to the room behind the wall.
Winter and Tobias kept shut trying not to distract him.
Jude frowned and shook his fingers spreading them throughout the bar. The power of the magic got stronger and more powerful. He still wasn't sensing the person body vibration. His second ability worked in both attack, defense and detection, he can sense the unique body vibration belonging to each person, attack their body by making their vibrations go haywire or use it as a shield. In this case he had placed a bit of his vibration on Clinton to sense him faster, but he is feeling nothing close.
He sent out more of it, the vibrations went out as far as outside the bar within a mile radius, he hasn't upgraded this for a while. More power burst from him, he is no longer afraid the supernatural creatures could feel it anymore.
His forehead was immediately covered with a thin sheet of sweat, a trail of blood seeped out of his mouth and nose.
"Stop" Winter said.
Jude opened his eyes filled with immense stubbornness and smiled looking particularly weak and powerless against the strong waves of magic she can feel.
"I said stop!" She said sternly.
Jude stopped smiling and his face grew grim. He glared at Winter but the latter didn't back down.
'i have to get stronger for my sister' he thought resolutely.
Slowly the magic retracted into his body, taking it all at once can make him unconscious for a long time.
"Don't stop me so suddenly next time, I might just explode" Jude said playfully.
Winter just blinked her eyes calmly" it was affecting my friend" she pointed at the person beside her.
Jude followed her eyes and saw the person on the floor groaning holding his head in pain. Little drops of blood splattered here and there.
Jude just sneered but looked at Winter surprised.
'how can she survive that and he didn't?'
He smiled even wider, the playfulness in his lips getting stronger 'she is getting more and more interesting'
"He will recover in about half an hour"
He said nonchalantly and noticed even Winter didn't seem to care.
Winter nodded absentmindedly. 'when did he get this strong?' 'why is everybody getting stronger?'
After half an hour they came out of the private room and saw little drops of blood on their way. Several people just standing up from the floor holding their heads and wiping their bleeding noses.
Tobias looked grateful he wasn't the only feeling a bone chilling pain earlier.
Jude frowned and turned his head to Winter walking away.
'is it happening again?'
His heart skipped a beat in fear. The events of that year wasn't a pleasant memory.
