He sat beside me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm reviewing," he said seriously, his eyes focused on the book he was reading. Wow, he's being grumpy now.
"I'd rather sleep than read. It's boring," I said, yawning, and buried my face back into the table to take a nap.
"You're not like that," he suddenly spoke, but I ignored him.
"I remember how you really loved to read books," he continued. I opened my eyes but didn't lift my head to look at him; I remained buried in the table.
"I wish I could see the real you again, Laine," he said.
I don't know why, but his words made me feel like crying. I stayed silent, letting him talk until I eventually felt sleepy and dozed off.
After a few minutes, I felt someone tapping my shoulder, waking me up. I looked up.
"Come on, it's time for our first subject," Alzid said.
"I don't want to go," I mumbled, still half-asleep.
