Chereads / Return of the Malicious Heiress / Chapter 10 - The Feeling of being Released

Chapter 10 - The Feeling of being Released

Rosalie's request for her name to be removed from the family registry was quickly handled. After the party ended abruptly due to the disturbance they caused, the elders of the Ameratti family did not oppose her expulsion.

In just a few hours of her being outside, she freed herself from the family who tormented her in her past life.

Of course, Rosalie was tempted to stay, letting her enemies close for her to observe. But that was precisely why didn't want to be there any longer. Being in the same space and breathing the same air as the people who had killed her would fill her with anxiety. Just seeing them would make her wonder if they had poisoned her drinks and touched what she ate. What would she do when she can't sleep because she's worried that they would strangle her to death?

Because of these uncertainties and worries, Rosalie couldn't trust being with any of the members of the Ameratti family.

She didn't want to place her trust in any of them because she had confidence in herself after living a second time.

So, separating from the Ameratti family was the only answer she could think of.

And so, after returning to the past, Rosalie thought of a plan. Rather than stopping what was already going to happen, she used it to get what she wanted.

The Ameratti was still handling the situation after the party ended. They couldn't resolve the crack in their reputation so they approached every guest to clear the misunderstanding.

As a result, Rosalie managed to quietly pack her belongings and leave the mansion without any obstruction.

On the way out, she met an unexpected person.

Emma stood near the door and sternly questioned her. "Rosalie, why have you been disguising your real intentions? If you had revealed the truth before, do you think the Ameratti family won't let go of you? Aren't you too shameless and delusional?"

Rosalie unhurriedly took a step towards her, dragging her suitcase behind her.

She leaned in closer to Emma's face, and her nose almost touched hers.

As she looked at Rosalie's face up close, Emma's heart couldn't help but beat a bit faster, and she felt like a hand was wrapped around her neck.

"Why disguise my intentions?" Rosalie curved her eyes into a smile, and she whispered seductively in her ear, "Of course... it's to deceive you."

Otherwise, how could she have revealed the family's big secret and taken the spotlight?

Emma was so angry that her nostrils flared up. "You...!"

"Thank you for your hard work today, Emma. Without you, I wouldn't have been able to plan this far." Rosalie pulled away from her and kept the smile on her lips. "No need to see me out. Go back and rest early."

Rosalie bumped her shoulder with Emma's, who stumbled backward before getting her balance and left with her suitcase without turning back.

As she stepped out the door, her smile vanished, replaced by a cold and murderous glint in her eyes.

...

Rosalie walked out of the mansion's gate and stood by the road, waiting for a car. True to their word, Albert and Russo did not allow her to take anything they had given her. Her car, apartment keys, and expensive jewelry were left behind.

Fortunately, Rosalie had an idea to become independent long before this happened. And so, she still had some money left in her personal bank account that the Ameratti family didn't know of.

In order for her to live in Neverville peacefully, the money she had was still not enough. Additionally, she no longer has a home to go back to or a car to use when she wants to go somewhere far.

As for the inheritance she received from the old matriarch, it is still being processed by the family lawyer and should arrive next month.

At this time, her phone inside her pocket vibrated. When Rosalie took it out, she saw her best friend, Taylor, call her.

Rosalie hesitated for a few seconds before taking it.

Her best friend's excited voice came through the other line, "You finally answered. Are the rumors true? That you're not from the Ameratti family?"

Rosalie hummed a response to which Taylor added quickly, "The news already exploded in several chat groups. I was on vacation with my boyfriend when I kept receiving calls and messages because you didn't look at yours." Taylor paused as if to take a breath. Then, she continued, "So... what happened?"

Taylor wasn't in the country so, she was unable to attend the founding party. But earlier, she received calls and messages from different people, even those who never spoke to her got her contact and started asking her where Rosalie was and whether it was true that she was not Albert Ameratti's daughter.

When she heard this, Taylor scoffed and thought it was another false rumor that someone who hated Rosalie created. But a video was sent to her. In that video, Rosalie was the protagonist. Her voice was crystal clear as she publicly told the secret behind her birth.

Taylor instantly wanted to know the truth from Rosalie.

Rosalie focused on the road as she began to recount the events. Afterward, they both lapsed into silence.

On the other end of the phone, Taylor paced back and forth. Her brows were tightly knitted together as she felt frustrated.

"What are your plans now? Do you still have money? Do you need me to send you some? Have you figured out where you'll be staying and how you'll be living from now on?"

A taxi was seen far ahead. Rosalie then said to the phone, "Don't worry about me. I'll think of a way. I'll talk to you later, I need to go."

Without waiting for her best friend's protests, Rosalie disconnected their call and waited for the taxi to come close to her.

As she stepped forward, she saw a black Bentley drive past her.

The moment she looked over, the car window was slowly closing, and she could only see a blurry figure.

But in that instant, she seemed to feel a pair of cold eyes staring at her.

Rosalie frowned and was about to take a closer look, but the Bentley had already sped past her and created a gust of wind.

Since it had already left, Rosalie didn't chase after it and called for a taxi. Once inside, she told the driver to take her to a hotel first.

After fifteen minutes, Rosalie entered the hotel building and went to the front desk to check-in. Unfortunately, she hadn't reserved a room, and most of the hotel's rooms were already taken. The only available options were the presidential suite and supreme rooms, which she couldn't afford. The hotel receptionist politely said, "I'm really sorry, miss, but our hotel is fully booked at the moment. However, we highly recommend our presidential suite and supreme room, which are currently available."

Rosalie really couldn't spend a lot of money for a one-night stay. So, she decided to look for another place to stay, somewhere cheaper.

She ended up in a local motel. Although it couldn't compare to the hotel she was previously in, the motel was clean and the building itself didn't look scandalous or too obvious.

Most importantly, the rooms were affordable and they promised great customer service.

And so, Rosalie paid for a three-day stay. At least, that's how long she estimated it would take her to find a place to stay.

As soon as her body hit the soft bed, Rosalie released a deep sigh, wondering if she hadn't desperately held onto the Ameratti family and left them in her past life, would she have escaped from the miserable life she led before?

Rosalie has finally released herself from the clutch of the Ameratti family. During her stay at the hotel, she slept and bought the food she wanted to eat. She lived a quiet and peaceful life.

As she only had three days to stay at the motel, Rosalie looked for a place to stay permanently. Fortunately, she found a highly recommended app where she saw numerous rentable places. After scrolling through several places and reading the reviews for each one that caught her interest, she stopped at a newly posted rental apartment.

Surprisingly, it was located in a private district area.

From the photos, it looked squeakingly clean and beautiful. It was also fully furbished. It even has a view of the river and was on the twenty-fifth floor of the apartment complex. It was a perfect place to stay.

But the rental price was so cheap that Rosalie was skeptical at first.

Then, she scrolled and found out why it was so cheap.

As it turns out, someone had already occupied the apartment, but perhaps they couldn't afford to pay for the full price of the condominium, so they looked for someone else to shoulder half the price.

In simpler terms, it was a shared house.

Rosalie hesitated upon learning it was a shared house.

What if the other tenant was a man?

But her worries were quickly resolved as it was listed below that the registered woman was a female.

With that, Rosalie no longer hesitated and rented the place directly.
