When Rosalie arrived at the apartment complex, she stood in front of the tall building with a confused face.
She took out her phone, looked down at the app, and looked up at the building. Confirming it was the same building that was on the apartment's address, she tilted her head in even more puzzlement.
To say she was surprised at what she was seeing was an understatement.
After all, she would've never expected that the apartment she rented was the 'Jade Imperial' apartment complex!
Jade Imperial complex was the most expensive apartment complex in Neverville with a per square meter valued at twelve thousand dollars, and the one-star apartment was said to have about 250 square meters. Most celebrities and wealthy young masters and misses would buy apartments there. But no one could afford the legendary diamond apartment which was about a hectare and was worth a whopping 123 million dollars.
Rosalie paused, her expression turning cold. She remembered that Elise bought an apartment in the same building. Now thinking about it, Elise suddenly bought that apartment last month and started to appear more in the area where the rich young masters and misses lived.
In the past, Rosalie was busy trying to get more recognition from the family after it was revealed she wasn't blood-related with them. It was her only way to continue staying in the family and not be abandoned by them, showing the Ameratti family that she was still useful to them.
Countless sleeps were sacrificed and even her health deteriorated just for Rosalie to prove to the Ameratti family that they didn't make a mistake in letting her stay with them.
For the past few years, she has done almost everything. Even what Elise couldn't do, she would do it and excel in it. As for the things Elise was impressive at, Rosalie secretly did them, too.
Yet, all her efforts were wasted with a single word of banishment.
All the things Rosalie did crumble into dust, leaving not even an ash for her to pick up.
Rosalie snapped out of her thoughts.
Although she didn't know what Elise's true intentions were in buying an apartment in this district when she would return to the Ameratti family, Rosalie would not worry about her for now.
Rosalie opened her phone and clicked on the chat box with 'KPA'.
KPA still did not reply to her messages.
Rosalie hesitated for a moment and finally sent another message.
[Rosy: Good morning. I'm on my way.]
In the quiet and solemn gym hall, Kallix jogged on the treadmill with a composed rhythm, his black shirt stuck to his body as his muscles flexed in every movement he made. His phone was propped on the treadmill's handle, the screen lighting up for a moment to show that he had received a message.
He briefly glanced down at it, his eyes cold as ice.
After reading it, he stopped running on the treadmill and took his phone with him, his other hand occupied with wiping the sweat on his face.
At this moment, a black-haired man approached him. He was sweating and his sleeve-less shirt sticking to his burly body.
The black-haired man lifted the heavy dumbells that weighed 15 kilos each and was about to speak when Kallix pushed the screen of his phone right under his nose.
"Hm?" the black-haired man squinted his eyes, unsure what Kallix wanted him to see.
"Read." Kallix was a man of few words.
The man seriously read what was on the phone screen. He blinked. Then, blinked a few more times again.
"Damn," the man laughed uncontrollably, as if seeing something unbelievable, "Last night, Sebastian called me and said you almost scared him to death. Was it all because of this? Was this mistakenly sent to you?"
Kallix retrieved his phone and didn't comment.
Last night, he found himself pondering this very question as he received those messages. His contact number was safeguarded by the government, so it was not easily accessible. Only a select few individuals had his number, and even they couldn't share it with others without his consent. So, how did this person manage to obtain his number?
"Maybe some of those old men's daughters?" the man continued lifting the heavy dumbells and giving a short laugh, "You know how desperate they can be when it comes to you. As for what they said in their messages, it's definitely just a way to get your attention. Just ignore it, your stay in Neverville was not disclosed to anyone. How can they know you live in that apartment?"
Kallix turned off the phone screen, his gaze lazily moving to the floor-to-ceiling window, when suddenly, he received another message.
The two tall men with extremely handsome features abruptly stopped their actions.
Kallix took two full seconds to move.
He lifted his right hand where his phone was held and unlocked the screen. The first thing that he saw was a message from the same person who had messaged him last night and just a minute ago.
But this time, their message didn't contain any words.
Rather, it was an image of an apartment's door.
Kallix had a photographic memory, allowing him to store images he had only seen once for a long time. When he received a picture of his door, he was shocked and began to question his memory. Shortly after, more photos appeared on his screen.
Each photo showed a part of his living room, kitchen, and bathroom.
'Ding!'
Kallix lowered his gaze.
[Rosy: Wow, we even have a big jacuzzi! If you don't mind, I'll use it now.]
Kallix's fingertips paused on the smooth back of his phone.
The entire private gym abruptly fell into a deafening silence.
The man on his side really wanted to look at Kallix's phone, his curiosity was barely restrained, but couldn't act on it.
So, he stood still.
Kallix beside him was in no rush to let him see what was sent to him, falling silent as he became contemplative.
Then, the man saw him tapping his fingers on the screen to reply.
