Chapter 29 - You Fucked Up

After announcing my marriage to Rose, a situation that left me feeling bewildered and upset as I am currently in a relationship with Rain, I searched everywhere for Rain but couldn't locate her. I wanted to explain that the news was inaccurate. I tried calling to clear up the confusion, but Rain's phone was switched off

. Desperation gnawed at me as I rushed to Rain's apartment, hoping to find her there. My heart pounded with every step I took up the stairs, each knock on his door echoing my anxiety. When there was no response, I slumped against the door, feeling the weight of the misunderstanding crushing me.

Took the phone and called Jay. Rain is not at her apartment. Search for her and locate her. I need an answer in 15 minutes. Then hang up. I paced the hallway, my mind racing with a thousand thoughts. Where could she have gone? What if something had happened to her? The minutes felt like hours as I waited for Jay's call. The dim light in the corridor flickered, matching my unsettled mood.

Finally, my phone buzzed, breaking the silence. "Jay?" I answered breathlessly.

"I found her," Jay said, his voice steadying my nerves. "She's at her apartment."

But I am outside her apartment.

I hung up the call and took out the key I didn't want to use before I got permission from her, but at that moment, there was nothing I could do. I need to see her.

Just then, I heard footsteps approaching from the hallway. I looked up to see Rain standing there, eyes wide with a mixture of confusion and hurt.

"Rain, please," I began, my voice trembling. "It's not what it seems. There's been a huge mistake. I would never betray you like that."

"Rain," I called softly, not wanting to startle her. She looked up, her eyes red and puffy. The sight broke my heart.

"Why are you here?" she asked, her voice hoarse from crying.

"I needed to find you," I replied, taking a cautious step closer. "We need to talk."

She sighed, looking away. "What's there to talk about?"

"No," I said, shaking my head. "There's been a misunderstanding. Please, just hear me out."

Rain stood silently, her expression unreadable. I took a deep breath and continued, "The announcement was a mistake. Rose and I are not getting married. It's you, Rain. It's always been you."

The world paused as Rain absorbed my words, and then a glimmer of comprehension and optimism emerged in her eyes. "Stop it. Okay, I suppose I was the only one unaware of all this," she murmured.

"go to your fiancé. I don't want any trouble, okay? go and never try to find me again, okay? I trusted you. I believed this could work, but all I received in return was my heart shattered," she expressed.

For the first time, a tear welled up, and I gazed upward, struggling to hold back my emotions.

"No, Rain, wait? Okay, I am here to fucken pour my heart to you, you are the one that holds my heart. Please don't give up on us. I will fix this, okay? Just trust me this once," I begged.

"Don't you get it? You fucked up big time now leave and don't you fucken return!"

"Rain," I tried holding her hand, and she pulled back.

"Rain, I know I fucked up big time, trust me this once don't leave me, please biscuit."

"Goodbye," she said and slammed the door shut with a bang. The sound echoed in the empty hallway, leaving an oppressive silence in its wake. I stood there, staring at the closed door, my heart pounding in my chest. The weight of her words bore down on me, and I felt a cold, sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach.
