Chapter 32 - Rain What's Wrong?

I snapped back to reality and offered her a gentle smile.

"Sorry, I zoned out for a moment. Nothing to worry about. Congratulations, Miss Jung, you seem to be 8 weeks pregnant. "Tears welled up in Miss Jung's eyes as she brought her hands to her mouth, a mix of shock and joy spreading across her face. "Eight weeks?" she whispered, almost as if she couldn't believe the words.

"Yes," I nodded, "Everything looks promising. It's essential to schedule regular appointments with your gynaecologist to ensure you have all the necessary information for your well-being and your baby's."

"I can't believe it," she whispered, her voice quivering. "I've been hoping for this moment for so long."

"Miracles happen unexpectedly," I responded. "Now, it seems my work here is done. Just remember to take care of yourself."

"Thank you, Doctor," she murmured. "You've turned my dream into a reality."

"I didn't do much, just reviewed a report; it's all thanks to your perseverance."

Oh, Doc, I never got to ask how was the party you went to the other weekend?

Oh, well.

What, what happened?

I left early. I wasn't feeling well, and I hope your father-in-law was delighted on his birthday.

Oh yes, he even arranged the date of our wedding. He will be happy to hear that I am pregnant now.

Yes, he will. Well, congratulations, Miss Jung. Now, if you could excuse me, I have other patients to attend to. Miss Jung smiled, her hand resting gently on her growing belly. "Thank you, Doc," she said, standing up from her seat. "I appreciate your help."

As she walked towards the door, the doctor gave her a reassuring nod.

As she left the office, I crumbled down and cried silently but loudly. My heart was pounding so hard and so fast I couldn't breathe at all. I clung to my white coat and pounded my chest with my other hand, trying to soothe my heart. While crying, Mandy walked in, and she was shocked to see me in that state.

"Rain, what's wrong?"

"I couldn't breathe, I couldn't. She's pregnant with his baby. If the ground could open and let it swallow me."

Mandy rushed to my side, wrapping her arms around me in a comforting embrace. "Oh, Rain," she murmured softly, "I'm so sorry. his a bastard."

I buried my face in her shoulder, the tears flowing freely now. "I thought he loved me, Mandy. I thought we had a future together."

She rubbed my back gently, her presence a soothing balm to my aching heart. "Sometimes, people make choices that hurt us deeply. But you are strong, Rain. You will get through this, even if it feels impossible right now."

I sniffled and pulled back slightly, looking into her concerned eyes. "How do I move on from this?"

"One step at a time," she said, her voice steady and reassuring. "Lean on your friends. Take time for yourself. And remember, he is a piece of shit and you deserve someone who truly values and respects you."
