Mom: [She looked concerned.] Just make sure you're eating well and taking care of yourself, okay? We worry about you.
Rain: I promise, Mom. I've been cooking more at home. I'll even share some recipes with you soon.
Raymond: [Teasingly] You cooking? Now that I'd like to see.
Rain: [Laughing] Hey, I've gotten pretty good at it! You might be surprised.
Dad: That's the spirit. Keep it up, and before you know it, you'll be a master chef.
Rain: [Smiling warmly] Thanks, Dad. I really needed to hear that. I miss you all so much.
Mom: We miss you too, sweetheart. Just remember, we're always here for you.
Ruben: And don't forget to take breaks and relax sometimes. Your health is important.
Rain: I will, Ruben. Thanks for the reminder.
Raymond: Alright, we better let you get some rest. We just wanted to check in and see your smiling face.
Rain: I'm so glad you did. Take care, everyone. Love you all!
Family: [In unison] Love you too, Rain!
[As the call ended, I felt a warmth in my heart, knowing that no matter how far I was, my family was always there for me. With a renewed sense of energy, I decided to prepare a hearty dinner, thinking of the recipes I could share with Mom.]
Call from Junior
Rain: Cakes
Junior: Biscuit, hey how are you today?
Rain: Miss me?
Junior: You read my mind.
Rain: Something bothering you, you sound down.
Junior: Nothing, just missing you, Biscuit.
Rain: I miss you too.
Junior: I am free the day after tomorrow, we can have a date all day.
Rain: A date you say [smiling] mmmmmh what kind of date are you proposing?
Junior: Movies, dinner, and ice-cream.
Rain: I like the sound of that.
Junior: Mh.
Rain: What movie are we watching?
Junior: How about that new romantic comedy everyone's talking about?
Rain: Perfect! I could use some laughs and romance.
Junior: And for dinner, I know this amazing little Italian place.
Rain: Italian food and ice cream after? You really know how to spoil a girl.
Junior: Only the best for you, Biscuit.
Rain: [laughs] I can't wait, Junior. It's going to be a great day.
Junior: Absolutely. Counting down the minutes already.
Rain: Me too. See you soon!
[It's date]
[Rain's apartment]
Woke up feeling joyful and indecisive about what to wear for our first date. After contemplating, I settled on a white corset shirt paired with tight black leather pants, white heels with a matching purse, and a long beige coat. As I glanced in the mirror, a smile spread across my face; the outfit was perfect, striking the right balance between chic and edgy. With a final touch of my favorite red lipstick and a spritz of my signature perfume,
I walked down the stairs and I was greeted by the most handsome man ever. He was talking to someone on the phone as he was reprimanding them.
I walked towards him and poked his shoulder. He turned and smiled, so I hugged him. He was so tall, and as short as I am, I still had to stand on tiptoe to try and get to his level. Fortunately, he was a gentleman and bent down a little and gave me a gentle smile.
Junior stood by the entrance of my apartment in a brown long blouse, white sneakers, and black pants. It seemed like we coordinated our outfits.
