Chapter 10 - 09:Dear friend

I'm Mr Jide's shop the time past six and the workers a rounding nip their daily duties to close up shop

A lady with purple braids and a nice jacket- it was the girl who help Deji count the clothes from earlier- dealing with the trash she notices Deji's drawings in the bin

She picks it out of the bin an flaps it removing any dirt or debris on it, she then made her way to the bosses office to ask about the art work

Upon getting to the het boss-Mr Jide's office she over hears him and his workers talking about Deji, while she couldn't hear all the gist she was able to make out a few words and grin those words she was able to tell that they were dissinv Deji along with his work

Only few knew that most clothes with the highest demand were designed by Deji on a whim or during his free time. But since his parents mustn't know about he still draws instead if reading fir his upcoming exams -only a month away- it was impossible for Mr Jide to give credit where it was due

But his shop got more publicity thanks to Deji's sketches and when Deji found out about this, it was then he thought of selling his work to make some spending money and to buy more materials for his art

"The boy would always draw in my house and when he drew in his room he would end up bringing them to me for hiding" The purple haired lady thought "it was difficult after we got caught, but it was fun…I wonder where he keeps them now"She thought as she left the area to take out the bin

She had already concluded that it wasn't a mister that his drawing was in the bin, but what worried her were the aftermath or the meaning of this

"I hope everything thing goes smoothly, I think it's time I-" Her thinking was interrupted

"Hey junior don't forget to sweep the whole place before you leave" one of her senior colleagues yelled out

"Why can't I just do it in the morning?… you always make me sweep in the morning whether it's clean or dirty" She clapped back, she wasn't going to be looked down upon by some who was into a few weeks higher than her in the shop

In Jide's wear the workers use their age and time of joining to select their rankings since all the tasks and duties were considered minor labour, and there were no roles that could properly signify hierarchy

"What did you say punk?" The guy in of white clothing and red palm for foot wear, the corner of his hair dyed yellow mismatched with his dark skin. If he was found outside you could mistake him for a thug

"I said I'll clean the place tomorrow morning" She was fed up of this type of people. Unfortunately they were found in every organization or group, that one individual that always wants to flaunt their power or position

If you can't them in your group then it's probably you : )

The two bickered a little before Mr Jide and the other workers in his came out to settle the disbute

"I don't care who, when or how you do it as long as the building is clean I don't care who does it" Mr Jide commented on the matter

The building consisted if two upper floors and one ground floor

The ground floor being the sales and distribution department, middle floor being the storage as well as sewing department and the top floor is where all the custom designs are made and pressed on the clothes

"Don't forget to lock up shop when you leave"Mr Jide said looking at the purple lady's directly

There were a total of 8 workers excluding Mr Jide on the top floor

Two in distribution and three in pressing*, the last three including The purple haired lady were new to the office and were in charge of keeping it clean as well as other minor labour

After half an hour all the staff in the building and it was now quarter past seven, she was to have closed earlier but the workers were bullying her becaus if her "attitude" and didn't leave early

It was when the staff at the ground came upstairs that they all left

"So annoying" The lady mumbled as she walked away from the building juggling the keys to the top floor before putting in her pocket

Meanwhile Deji was getting a scolding from his parents for (allegedly) stealing his Mother's funds

After all was said and done he went out to the hallway without eating dinner -he was simply to upset for that- he walked down to the end of the hallway where there was a window that was three square feet

Noting but a glass with iron frames serving as security measures, Deji sat on the bench placed by window gazing into the moonlight reaching his hand out as he muttered some words

At the entrance of the building the purple lady entered the main entrance and stretched as she walked into the building

"Yawn~ I'm beat" The lady said as she approached a door ready enter it but then she noticed something in the corner of her eye although it was past eight and she was feeling tired she couldn't ignore the scene in front of her

"Yo…" she called out as the moon light reflected in her face revealing her full appearance

"A-Anita ?" Deji called out as he saw a familiar face "you're just coming from work by this time?"

"Yeah….those animals delayed me because of something insignificant" The purple haired girl -Anita xx- One if the tenants and Dejis best friend since childhood

"You're using words I don't understand again"Deji lamented as he turned his face in confusion

"And you're not reading the books I lent you… maybe I should start charging you for them" Anita said jokingly with eyes sparkling with a yellow glint

"…."

Deji simply ignored her joke and focused his gaze out into the night sky, in the movies he would watch the main cast would always stare out into the night city from a high vantage point, and a solution to their delemia would often come

"Good luck…" Anita who was also tired left his side seeing as he didn't respond like usual "it must have been rough this time" she thought

Deji never told her what he went through at home since it wasn't something uncommon, although his case was different, he would always hide any bruises that appeared on his body with long sleeves

And if there were ant in his face or hands he would simply enjoy his time at home drawing to his satisfaction

"But he can't even do that now…how sad" Anita thought as her face become grim, she wanted to help her friend feel better but didn't want to annoy him in the process

"Hey.." Anita called Deji's attention " get some sleep I'm tutoring you this weekend remember?" She made a last comment before making her leave

"… nah I'm good for tomorrow…" Deji muttered "maybe it's time I end it all…" he thought before he got up walking back his family apartment
