After Deji and Anita's quarrel in the morning Anita left for work and Deji went inside both of them indifferent to eachother
Or at least in the outside… Deji was annoyed they Anita had once more tries to keep him in the game but he had enough and didn't even bother to try and listen to her
He simply took his shared phone and laid in his bee looking through his gallery
Most of them containing pictures of his lilltle brother and some taken of him unknowingly
'I was never photogenic' Deji shrugged it off as it was nice to have ones pictures in their phone
The next photo he saw couldn't have been taken by his brother since this was of the first time he and Anita interacted with eachother
It was a photograph of them covered in paint, the picture made it seem like they were having fun messing around with paint in their uniform
But the backstory behind it said otherwise…
"We'll that's for another chapter" D-deji muttered
A small smile appeared on his face as he remembered the events that happened that day

*+*+*
Deji had just bought a new set of painting materials that he wanted to try out, but they were only sold on the way to school
And since he and and his younger brother—Tobi— went home together there was chance he wouldn't be able to busy it as the latter would try to talk him into buying something else.
It was during break and instead of his usual spot at the playground where he shared an unspoken bond with a girl who would always watch from the higher steps
He tool out readily drawn images ranging from rough sketches of animals to action poses
The ink is as thick and had to be mixed with a lot of water to reduce it's thickness as a as to not ruin the paper
He had already finished mixing his main colors being red, purple, green he was about to start before an unknown student bumped into his table messing with his art
Deji was filled with rage and sorrow, he had taken his time to set up and now it was ruined by fools who didn't know how walk on their on their own feet
Before he knew it he had already flipped the pallet over spilling some of its contents onto the girl
By then he had recognized the girls who had messed with his art time, well one of them anyway
'We don't talk but we're not hostile or anything maybe it was a mi-'
Slpat !!
The reminants of the palette were slashed onto Deji making him forget any thought he had and he simply rejoined by flicking his brush in thier direction
*+*+*
"The rest was kinda like a blur" Deji got up slowly as he was reminding about the past"not like there's any point in knowing we're friends now and it's all that matters.."
The room was filled with silence befor Deji's daze lead to his study table
"Guess I'll study… I do have exams in a month or so"
Deji moved to the table picking out workbooks and writing materials as he plopped the phone on the bed
He opend the first page of the workbook…so fresh… Never touched never opened
Like a treasure chest that had accumulated dust over decades only for its fresh contents to be revealed
But unlike a treat of treasure only pain and confusion were in store
Deji opend the workbook labeled maths and looked through it but to his surprise he didn't understand any of what was written
So he moved to economics he read through the table of contents
"Ah this seems doable…" he let out a sigh of relief
===
[Minutes later]
"What the hell is equ-illi-equil- …." Deji paused mid pronounciation
"Haa~" he took deep breathe to prepare himself mentally and regain his pride
"equal-ill broom"
"…"
…
'Fuck' Deji lamented and screamed in thought
"I don't know the pronociation but they doesn't feel right" Deji flipped through pages of the work book "there must be some that I can do surely"
After a few moments of flipping pages silence filled the room as Deji contemplated on his school life
But Deji soon realized that there was no point in feeling on the past as he could only move forward and hope to perform better
"Let's just start with a simple workbook… after some brief review and revisions then I can move onto the workbooks"
Deji then began searching the desk in his room for his old notes as well as some of the textbooks he used in his school
'Economics, Maths, Biology, Literature…'
Deji thight as he looked at the fresh textbooks layers on his table
One could sell them at the actual market price with how neat they looked but Deji had no plan for that
If he was going to give up art he was going to become serious with his studies, since that's the reason his parents Favour Tobi—his younger brother—
Deji opened the literature textbook and began reading the first page but as he started he found himself skipping topics because he already has an "idea" of them
And by the time he found one he didn't understand or has no prior knowledge of he found himself skipping it once again… why?
Because it was too difficult to wrap his brain around, and at this point in time it was tricky to ask for tutor from his parents and at the same time they demanded outstanding results from him
"Haa" Deji let out tiring sigh "I think I'll just start with Amy topic and move on to the next… it will help me understand it more and let me know my current weakness.."
As Deji began reading poetic devices about thirty minutes had passed before he found himself sleeping on his open book.
A few minutes passed after that and there was a loud sound heard from the door
KNOCK!
KNOCK!!
KNOCK!!!…..
