Nora squinted her eyes open, "Oh," she moaned.
She finally opened her eyes, and stretched. She was lying on the couch in the office, so she sat up.
Her head hurt, and her eyes were burning, "Huh? What's wrong with me?" She looked around, "Am I home?"
She closed her eyes, and exhaled, "Breathe, Nora, breathe."
She opened her eyes again, and it dawned on her that she was still in the office.
"Oh, I am still here," she sniffled, and sighed.
When she remembered that day was not a Saturday, her eyes were fully open.
"Oh my God! What time is it?" She gasped, and got down from the couch. She quickly located her clothes on the desk. She rushed to them, and slid into her clothes.
"I have to get out of here before the others start coming in," she panicked.
"My handbag.." she paused, and tried remembering where it was, "It's not here, then where is it?"
She sucked in air, and stood akimbo.
"Oh, yes! My desk!" She rushed to the door, and opened it quickly. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw nobody in the corridor.
"Oh, thank goodness," she got to her office, and went, thank God it was partially open. She rushed to her desk, and took her handbag. She took her phone, and checked the time, "7.25 AM!" She gasped.
"Oh dear, employees will soon start flooding in," she bit her lips, and headed to the door. She began to pray she would see no one till she left the office.
She closed the door behind her and headed to the elevator as fast as she could, hoping no one would be in it.
"Please dear God, don't let anyone see me here," she prayed.
She got to the elevator, and luckily for her, there was no one in it.
"I should thank the heavens no one has come yet, I must be so lucky," she gulped.
The elevator took her downstairs, and she got out. Her heart skipped a beat. It was full of her colleagues.
She froze, wondering what she would do if they saw her.
'Good heavens! What am I supposed to do now?'
She looked left and right, and there was no where to hide, except she had to sneak towards the entrance which was on her left, making sure no one saw her.
"Come on, I can do this," she exhaled softly.
She took quiet steps towards the entrance, hoping her colleagues would be distracted by their chit chat.
"Nora? Is that you? Where are you going?" One of her colleagues who shared a office with her asked.
Nora froze, and bit her lips in frustration, 'Did she have to see me?'
She faked a smile, and turned on her heels. Her stomach churned when she saw a lot of eyes staring at her with suspicion.
"Where are you going? It's almost 8.00AM."
She swallowed hard, thinking of the best way to answer.
"I have.. I mean.. I have to quickly get something outside. So, I.. am going back outside," she lied.
"Why does it seem she stayed here all night?" A voice came from behind.
Curse that voice!
She inhaled, thinking of the best way to answer.
"I.. didn't stay here all night.. actually I came a bit earlier so I could finish some work, and now I have to go get something before work officially resumes," she lied again, hoping they would buy her excuse.
"Hm, I don't believe her though. I mean.. someone who tried to kill herself... She is capable of many other things," Joseph cut in, mischief in his eyes.
They all laughed out loud, agreeing with his words.
Nora turned on her heels, and walked out of the office, hurt by Joseph's words, "What have I done to deserve all this?" She palmed her face, as soon as she got outside.
She didn't want to cry, but she couldn't stop the tears that were welling up in her eyes.
She took in a deep breath, and forced the tears back in, "I'm not crying over these little things. It's okay if they want to laugh, definitely I would be the one who will laugh last," she consoled herself.
Walking towards the main entrance, she remembered she didn't find him when she had woken up.
"He is gone as usual, I wonder why he leaves so early," she pouted, and scratched her neck.
She boarded a cab back to the place she dreaded the most.
____
Nora dragged herself into the house, her lips turned downwards.
She stopped when she caught sight of someone, and her jaws dropped.
A guy knelt stark naked in front of the couch, fondling with Jimmy's shaft.
Jimmy now f****ed them in the living room?
Her face contorted with disgust. She her insides fill with rage. A thought came into her head, why not cause a little mischief?
Jimmy, and his partner were so engrossed in their little game, they didn't notice when Nora walked past them, to the kitchen.
She walked straight to the blender, "Hm, I do hope they have a spicy time together," she chuckled mischievously. She took some Cayenne pepper spray from the cupboard, and headed back to the living room.
She walked straight to where they were, and shook her head. She sprayed it on Jimmy's shaft and his eyes, before his partner could fathom was happening, she sprayed it in his eyes.
Jimmy yelled as the pepper burned his shaft, and it was burning badly. His partner couldn't see a thing, and began to move his hands aimlessly, screaming.
Nora smiled, "This isn't compared to what you put me through. Do have a spicy time together," she muttered, and went upstairs, leaving both of them to find the bathroom which was almost impossible.
She went to her room, and changed her clothes to something more comfy. She was thinking of resigning from her job, and start something else online.
She went to her closet, and packed some of her clothes in a box. She was going back to her house. She wanted to be away from him, as she couldn't keep up with Jimmy.
She carried her box, and left the house.
