"What are you people doing?"
As the servants were talking, a cold voice interrupted them from behind as all of them became stiff.
"Talking bad about the person you serve is a disgrace."
The voice as all the servants shivered.
"M-moth-"
"Silence."
Herlin tried to calm the person, but the person silenced her as she glared at her.
"While working, I'm the chief maid, not your mother." The chief maid said this as Herlin lowered her head.
[Harlin, the chief main]
Harlin was standing straight as she emitted a devoted aura.
She had some wrinkles on her face and white, gray hair. Her old age had caused her eye sight to degrade, so she wore glasses to fix that.
"It is our duty as the servants of this house to respect the house owner…"
As usual, Harlin started to lecture about their role as servants, loyalty, and respect.
Knock Knock
"Hmm?"
As Harlin was lecturing, she suddenly heard a knock on the door as she looked toward it.
The other servants also looked toward the door with a strange look.
It was a room to hang out for all the servants of the house.
No servants knocked on the door, as they would just enter the room.
'Who is it?' Everyone thought in unity as they stared at the door in curiosity and anticipation.
Unlike others who just stared at the door, Harlin walked towards it as she opened it.
Clack
"…Young master. Do you need something?" Harlin said, as the other servants panicked. They quickly cleaned themselves up as they stood up.
They looked at the door with anticipation, wondering if the young master had come to visit them like old times.
"I want to go to the city office." Aiden said as he awkwardly looked at the old woman in front of him.
'Was I interrupting something?' He thought as Eden shrugged.
"City office? May I call the carriage for you to take you there?" Harlin said as she bowed her head.
"No. Not carriage. I want to walk there." Aiden said as Harlin nodded her head.
"As you wish. Herlin."
Harlin said as she called Herlin, who walked towards them.
"What is it, chief maid?" Herlin asked as she looked toward Harlin.
"Please escort the young master to the city office."
"I understand. Young master, please follow me." Herlin said as she turned towards Aiden and started walking.
Aiden quietly followed her as Harlin bowed her head one last time.
…
"WHAT!?"
Back at the [Hosling Guild],
Lyn, who is known for being calm and collected, was acting out of her character as she shouted at Ann.
"W-why would you do that?" Lyn asked as she looked at Ann.
"It was a necessary decision from my part." Ann said as Lyn frowned and just stared at her for a moment.
…Sigh
"I don't know anymore." Lyn said as she started to calm herself down.
"Working under the city lord for two years just for the additional knowledge about the black flame, you are going crazy." Lyn said as she massaged her temple.
"It has more benefits for us than you think," Ann said.
"Whatever. You are the guildmaster." Lyn said as she nodded her head and left the research room.
"I will go around and ask other members about the items." Lyn said before going through the door.
Clack
…
'This place is magical.'
As Aiden walked through the city, following Herlin, he observed his surroundings.
The city was bustling with people walking around.
Some looked regular, and some were wearing weird dresses, but no one batted an eye at that, as it seemed like it was a normal thing.
Sniff Sniff
'Smells nice.'
A sweet smell drew his attention as he looked across the streets.
It was a small tavern where people of all kinds were eating food and chatting with each other.
'That looks fun.' Aiden thought as he turned around and kept following Herlin.
'…I've been trying to ignore it for a while, but... Eden, what do you think about that?' Aiden said as he swiftly sneaked a glance towards the people who were staring at him and talking.
'What? You are currently the son of the ruler of this city. Did you think people wouldn't know you?' Eden said as Aiden realized.
'Oh…right.' Aiden thought as he felt a buried emotion arise.
'Tch. Don't feel guilty. You didn't kill the owner. He was already dead.' Eden said as he grabbed his head.
'I know, but instead of being buried, I'm taking his place with no one knowing what happened to him.' Aiden said as Eden frowned.
Eden became speechless, as he didn't know what to say at this point.
"Young master, Aron. We have arrived." Herlin, who was walking with him, stopped as she pointed at the city office.
'It's just as huge as the mansion…' Aiden looked at the huge building as he started wondering about the things he never thought he would have.
'I wonder how rich the previous owner is,' he thought.
Does Enel being the city lord mean he owns everything here?
'He might be crazy rich.' Eden replied as Aiden nodded his head.
"Young master. Should I wait for you here?" Herlin asked him as Aiden looked toward her.
"No need. I can return on my own. You can leave now." Aiden said as Herlin bowed her head and walked away.
"Young master."
As Aiden was about to enter the office, a familiar voice called out to him as he looked toward the source.
'…How did he know I was here?' Aiden thought as he looked at the white robed figure running towards him.
"Young master. W-what are you doing here?" Louis said, breathless from all the running.
Louis was at the top of the mansion, near the window.
He was going through some documents when he suddenly saw a glimpse of the young master and immediately started running.
"I need some stuff."
Aiden said as Louis nodded his head.
"I see. Please say what you need. I will bring them shortly." Louis said as he took deep breaths.
"…I need all kinds of swords available."
Aiden said.
"Huh? You already have those back at the mansion." Louis suddenly stopped as Aiden frowned.
"Swords of different kinds?" Aiden asked to make sure as Louis nodded his head.
"It must be because you lost your memories, but you had ordered the same things before too." Louis said as Aiden nodded his head.
'I should have guessed that.' He thought as the previous owner must have done the same to improve his mastery.
"I see. Then, I will return. Where are they?" Aiden asked.
"They are in the weapon room. You specifically made that room to collect all those swords." Louis said as Aiden froze.
'Damn. The previous owner was crazy rich.' Eden said as Aiden agreed with him.
"I see." Aiden said as he nodded his head and turned around to return.
"Oh, wait, young master. I will also accompany you." Louis said as he followed Aiden.
…
Slurppp
'What is this drink?'
Sipping a blue drink from a straw, Aiden wondered what it was as he frequently took sips of the drink.
"Ahaha. Young master, I was surprised when you asked me to stroll around the city." Louis said as he was drinking a red drink.
"When you were little, you requested the same thing." Louis said as he remembered when the little young master asked to take him around the city.
"…" Aiden remained silent to that remark as he tried not to think of it.
"…When are you going to give me actual magic lessons?" Aiden asked as Louis froze.
"…I was going to start, but it looks like the city lord has found a new magic teacher for you." Louis said as it was Aiden's turn to freeze.
"What?"
Aiden said as he questioned if he heard it right.
"It's true. The mission you are taking part in, the leader of this mission is going to be your magic teacher." Louis said as Aiden frowned.
'What is he planning now?' He questioned him, as he didn't believe in the city lord one bit.
"Oh. Talking about the mission, you are required to get acquainted with the other members taking part in the mission." Louis said as the document he was reading earlier was exactly regarding this.
"…Why?" Aiden asked as Louis stretched his index finger. It was his habit to do so whenever he was going to start lecturing.
"This kind of meeting is important since it helps with better coordination on the mission. As I have said in my previous lectures, better coordination is very important in any dungeon."
