John wakes up again in an unfamiliar land. The first thing he saw was an endless bond of stars swimming in the pitch-black sky. A patch of reeds swirls and brushes against his cheeks.
John picks himself up and looks around. The land ah thing but reed as far as the eye could see with only some stone scattered throughout.
His hand brushed against the reed, it felt rather ticklish. He hasn't the slightest idea where he woke up this time, he often woke up in an unfamiliar place but this time he has zero idea where he is.
This is clearly not Lmemore, not Tumidus, and not Earth. A chilling sensation ran past him as he saw an approaching figure.
"Hello?"
John's voice weirdly echoes through the place. However, even with a loud call, the man doesn't seem to respond. The man looks to be just a middle-aged farmer, often seen in the Eyre countryside.
John approaches the man. A closer look reveals a blonde beard on the man's face.
"Hello?"
Another echoing voice with no answer, the man acted like John wasn't there. He felt a bit frustrated at the man. His hand reaches out to tap him on the shoulder.
John's hand went right through the middle-aged man.
His mind was blank and perplexed, and his head started spinning on what could be happening. But no matter how much he tried or what he did John could not reach the middle-aged man nor touch him. The only thing the old man did was use his knife to collect some reeds.
After some time John gave up. He couldn't do anything so he just quietly followed the man. He walks for a long time carrying the stack of reeds.
For hours the man walked without feeling any tiredness and John also noticed that he could also walk forever.
John could perceive the passage of time here, the stars were swirling in the sky but that doesn't give him anything.
Eventually, the middle-aged man arrives at a shack. A broken-down wooden shack that is made out of dark grey wood. It looks like it has been lived in and abandoned at the same time.
The middle-aged man enters the shack through a doorway, John follows him in and sees that the interior is just a broken set of tables and chairs.
At the end of the house, a pale stone chimney is visible. The middle-aged man put all the reed he had gathered into the shimmy and lit it on fire.
The reed burn in pale yellow creating a yellow smoke. It flows upward and disappears into the night sky. From this scene John realizes something, the night sky doesn't have much light shining on this reed-ridden land.
However, he could see perfectly fine without it. No matter where he looked he could see everything as if he was in the middle of the day. But the sky is clearly that of the night.
After burning the reed, the middle-aged man heaves a sigh. John could feel that it was a sigh of sadness from the man's yellow eyes.
John moves closer to see the reed burning, the pale yellow flame has a majestic feeling to it. Mesmerizing flow every time it moves. Upon closer look, one could see the glitter of white spreading across the fire.
After some time, The fire burns out and the middle-aged man walks out of the house. John follows him out, Having nothing to do otherwise.
The field of reeds continues to stretch across endless space. Occasionally one could spot a stone protruding out of the ground. John breaks away from the middle-aged man to investigate one of them.
Juronma Targon
A name is written in an unknown language. However, John could perfectly read it, unlike Eyrish which he's still learning. Upon closer look, the stone has row after row of names. John felt an unsettling sensation and stopped reading it.
He turns back to follow the distant figure of the middle-aged man.
A long time, he didn't know how long, it felt like years and a second blend into one. Finally, they arrive at a cliff. Beside it was a massive stone like the one in the field of reeds. A wooden bridge is built to cross the cliff to the other side.
Here the land of reed ends, and on the other side is barren, unlike any other. The place is an endless land of black rocks extending as far as the eye can see. The middle-aged man continued to walk, and eventually, he made it across the wooden bridge.
John gets close to examining the stone that lies before the bridge, but this time he gets attracted by something. There's a text written on there, it reads as follows.
WE KILL HIM
WE KILL HIM
WE KILL HIM
WE KILL HIM
WE KILL HIM
WE KILL HIM
Written in a blood-red unknown text. A deep sense of unease fell upon him. every time he read the word he felt like his body was about to break. The air feels cold without him feeling any wind. John stops reading the text and focuses on following the middle-aged man.
The row of text would have driven him mad if he had gone further.
Walking across, the wooden bridge swayed left and right. the rope could barely hold the bridge together, however, John wasn't deterred by this. He walks until he can go across the cliff.
Looking back John couldn't hold his curiosity, the deep dark hole of the cliff felt so intriguing. His eyes move to gaze upon the dark hole. Unable to see the end of it. A rock from the cliff falls down the never-ending hole.
Even with his innate night vision, he couldn't see down the cliff.
His heartbeat began going faster and faster, the desolate land lacked any life other than the middle-aged man but he could feel a deep fear rising in his heart. Something is there.
In the dark abyss
Something is there.
Something is there.
Something is there.
nothing is there
"AHGAGHAGHGHGHGH"
Joh woke up in his hotel room. His body is wet all over, he pants, and his heart rate is through the roof.
"Master, are you alright?"
The maid that was sitting beside him woke up from his scream.
"...." John couldn't answer her propley "J..just a bad dream..."
