Chapter 17 -  Seed Quota

The Zerg moved quickly, advancing from the goblin tribe's location to the valley where the two-headed ogres resided in just a few dozen minutes.

Xu Luo had encountered the ogre species before. He had destroyed an alien's divine realm, and that alien's initial species was ogres. They were a bunch of brainless brutes, with their heads filled with muscles.

However, the two-headed ogre mages left a deep impression on him.

Even though there were only a few of them, under their enhancement, the ogres' combat power increased significantly, causing Xu Luo considerable losses.

A single two-headed ogre was at Bronze tier-nine, while ordinary ogres were at Bronze tier-five. But when the ogres had two-headed ogre mages, their combat power skyrocketed.

Now, encountering a tribe entirely composed of two-headed ogres, Xu Luo naturally wanted to see how strong they were. This way, he would know how to handle them in the future.

From a distance, through the Zerg's perspective, Xu Luo saw the crude houses and blazing bonfires scattered throughout the valley.

Although crude, the settlement had the rudimentary appearance of a village.

Compared to ogres, the two-headed ogre mages were far more intelligent.

Among all species, the combat power of ogres was considered mid-tier at the same level, while two-headed ogres were a variant of ordinary ogres.

There were methods to upgrade ordinary ogres into two-headed ogres, but the cost was high, beyond what most students could afford.

The two-headed ogres in the valley numbered only a few hundred, but their combat power was formidable.

Xu Luo wasn't foolish enough to charge in directly—that would be too stupid.

Rushing towards spellcasters without a plan would cost him at least half of his Zerg before even getting close to the valley.

Fortunately, he didn't need to charge in recklessly; he had better methods.

Meanwhile, in the simulated battle hall, everyone continued to watch.

After defeating the goblin tribe and killing the chieftain, no one expected Xu Luo to challenge the two-headed ogres.

Seeing the massive two-headed ogre chieftain, everyone gasped in shock.

Without the world's restrictions, this creature would undoubtedly be above Silver tier.

Even so, its combat power was far superior to the previous goblin chieftain.

Some students were awestruck.

They had never experienced an invasion, let alone invaded others. Watching Xu Luo invade a lower dimension gave them a strong sense of immersion, and they fantasized about leading their own species to invade others in the future.

"Is he insane?"

Seeing Xu Luo challenge a leader-level two-headed ogre chieftain commanding hundreds of two-headed ogres, the fifty students from Class 1 were all shocked.

A leader-level two-headed ogre chieftain was also a mage with the talent of dual casting, possessing destructive power far beyond the previous goblin chieftain.

Although everything in the simulation pod was simulated and wouldn't result in real death, there was no need to seek death intentionally.

To them, this battle seemed utterly unnecessary.

"This kid has guts!"

The school's senior staff could see more clearly.

"He's using this opportunity to gain combat experience."

"And he's quite strong!"

Zhong Tianyue pondered.

"Being able to annihilate a goblin tribe of ten thousand and kill the chieftain shows his strength is already top-tier among the freshmen. With further development and the school's support, he has at least a fifty percent chance of securing a spot!"

"You want to give him a seed quota?"

Zhao Yiming reacted immediately.

"No way! That's too hasty. We don't know how his mutated species will develop. What if it stops here? Let's wait and see!"

The school only had three seed quotas. Securing one meant the school would fully support the student with all resources, making even families like the Xiang family envious. They had tried to secure a quota for Xiang Xun but failed. How could they easily give one to an ordinary student?

"Principal, let's wait and see. Although he has shown great strength, there's a limit to mutated species. Let's see his performance at the Silver tier before making a decision."

The other senior staff members also urged caution.

While Xu Luo's performance was impressive, the seed quota was too precious to be given hastily.

"Alright, let's wait and see."

Zhong Tianyue sighed. Although he was the principal, he couldn't make unilateral decisions. The others had valid points.

While Xu Luo seemed strong now, if he couldn't break through to the Silver tier, they would be the laughingstock.

Although Zhong Tianyue knew Xu Luo had hidden strengths and had taken the path of an invader, even destroying several alien divine realms, this couldn't be openly discussed.

Each civilization rewarded the destruction of other civilizations' divine realms, but such actions were kept secret and never publicly acknowledged.

As the principal, Zhong Tianyue had higher authority and could access records of who had taken the invader path and how many divine realms they had destroyed. However, this information couldn't be shared, not even with the school's senior staff.

"Principal, there's no rush. It takes time to upgrade species to the Silver tier. Let's wait and see his performance then. If he remains strong, he will certainly get a seed quota."

The logistics director smiled.

They also hoped their school would produce a strong student. As school leaders, they would receive rewards from the education department.

Zhao Yiming's expression remained unchanged, but his thoughts were his own.

He had worked hard for Xiang Xun, yet the others refused to budge on the seed quota. Now they were willing to give it to Xu Luo if he reached the Silver tier.

How could he tolerate that?

But as an adult, he wouldn't show his displeasure openly.

"Let's watch his performance."

Zhong Tianyue remained noncommittal.

He thought, if Xu Luo displayed his full strength, would the others still hesitate to give him the seed quota?

Although Zhong Tianyue didn't know Xu Luo's full capabilities, he knew that the boy couldn't have destroyed so many divine realms without significant strength.

Faced with the threat of divine realm destruction, opponents would use all their resources to defend, sparing no effort.
