Chapter 19 -  End of the Assessment

Zhong Tianyue focused on the battlefield, fully aware of the school's internal affairs. Despite being the principal, he knew the limitations and internal politics at play. Ever since he took office, his inability to cultivate students who could participate in the global league had been his constant worry. Now, seeing hope at last, his mood had significantly improved.

"Both species possess limb regeneration and burrowing abilities. The offensive species can fly and leap, while the defensive species have shields and thick armor, providing high defense. The combination of these two can handle many types of enemies. The main threat would be flying units, as they lack anti-air capabilities. However, at the beginning of a divine realm's development, few have flying units. This level of strength is already impressive."

Zhong Tianyue silently analyzed Xu Luo's troop strength. Successfully nurturing a genius might finally allow him to leave this city and seek greater opportunities.

Meanwhile, the battle within the divine realm was nearing its end.

The Zerg's numerical advantage, combined with their surprise attack, had significantly reduced the two-headed ogres' numbers. Through repeated sacrificial assaults, the two-headed ogres' forces had dwindled considerably.

"Ahhhhh—"

A furious roar echoed through the valley. A blue-skinned, three-meter-tall, solidly built two-headed ogre wielding a large spiked club appeared. The weapons used by these primitive creatures were rudimentary; a spiked club was the best they could manage.

This two-headed ogre exuded an intimidating presence just by standing there, causing the remaining two-headed ogres to gather around it.

This was clearly the two-headed ogre chieftain.

Two-Headed Ogre Chieftain (Leader): Bronze Tier-Nine

Talent: Dual Casting, Double Attack, Duet

Skills: Shout, Magic Attack, Berserk

Seeing the two-headed ogre chieftain's talents and skills, Xu Luo was taken aback. It had an aura skill and the powerful talent, Duet. Unlike the goblin chieftain, which had purely developmental and logistical skills, the two-headed ogre chieftain's talents were entirely combat-oriented.

Dual Casting allowed it to cast spells faster, Double Attack meant higher damage, and Duet was terrifying—an attack would have two damage phases, essentially doubling its impact.

Shout was a group buff skill, enhancing its troops' morale by 10% while reducing the enemy's by the same amount. Although its duration was short, only thirty seconds, in the heat of battle, thirty seconds could be decisive.

Unfortunately for the chieftain, Shout had no effect on the Zerg. The Zerg's low intelligence meant they relied entirely on Xu Luo's commands, rendering morale irrelevant.

There was no denying the two-headed ogres' powerful talents and skills. Without the constraints of this plane, it would be more than just a Bronze-tier creature. But no matter how powerful the individual, it couldn't withstand an overwhelming number of enemies.

Even when the two-headed ogres were at full strength, they struggled against the Zerg. Now, with their numbers so greatly reduced, they stood no chance.

Under the chieftain's Shout, the remaining two-headed ogres' morale surged, each going into Berserk mode, further boosting their combat power. However, their numbers were too few. Faced with the relentless waves of Zerg, they fell one by one, leaving only the chieftain fighting alone.

Two-headed ogres were similar to the Zerg in that all were warriors, with no concept of non-combatants. Elderly two-headed ogres became food for their kin; such was their survival strategy.

Despite the chieftain's continuous roars, hurling spells, and swinging its massive club, smashing approaching Zerg, wounds accumulated on its body.

Despite its powerful healing ability, new wounds appeared faster than old ones could heal.

The intense pain only fueled its rage, allowing it to wreak havoc.

Xu Luo continuously received notifications of his followers' deaths.

But he remained unmoved. He had experienced significant losses during real invasions, so a simulation didn't bother him.

Unfortunately, this was just a simulation; otherwise, he would have coveted the two-headed ogre chieftain's rapid healing ability. If he could obtain it, fusing it with his species would make the Zerg even more formidable.

Despite the chieftain's individual might and impressive healing, its limits were clear. Under the relentless waves of Zerg, the chieftain eventually fell, unwillingly succumbing to the sheer numbers.

After dealing with the two-headed ogres, Xu Luo moved on to the location of the wood pigeons.

However, the wood pigeons lived on sheer cliffs and constantly patrolled the skies, attacking with dive bombs and wind blades. The Zerg couldn't effectively threaten them. After suffering some losses and being driven away, Xu Luo ended his invasion.

The final act was a deliberate show of vulnerability; otherwise, appearing too dominant could be problematic.

Surpassing by one step made one a genius, two steps made one a prodigy, but three steps...

"Assessment complete. Calculating results and determining rankings..."

"Disconnecting from the Divine Realm. Please exit the simulation pod."

As the mechanical voice announced the end of the assessment, Xu Luo exited the simulation pod.

The next moment, he found himself in the massive assessment hall, with thousands of teachers and students watching him intently. Despite his reincarnation, Xu Luo felt a bit nervous.

The enormous hall fell silent, all eyes on him. This was undeniably the center of attention.

However, Xu Luo wasn't enjoying this treatment. At this moment, he felt a bit uneasy.

"Hey, everyone! That ended quickly, huh?"

Xu Luo tried to calm himself, making a casual remark.

"Xu Luo, return to the class lineup!"

Homeroom teacher Zhang Jianming, holding back his excitement, sternly ordered.

At this moment, he felt like he was in a dream.

Although he had always believed that Xu Luo, who had defeated a wealthy student like Xiang Yang, had a strong species, he had never had a clear understanding of just how strong.

Initially, when Xu Luo had dealt with the invading goblins, he had felt that Xu Luo's strength was indeed impressive.
