Chapter 16 -  Defeating the Goblin Tribe

Over two hundred students gradually emerged from the simulation pods.

All students from Class 1 passed the test, with several completely annihilating the invaders. In contrast, the results from the three ordinary classes were dismal.

Out of 152 students from the three classes, only eight passed, a shockingly low ratio.

At this moment, Xu Luo was the only one still in the simulation pod.

The previously proud Class 1 students were also watching Xu Luo's battle, their expressions turning sour.

They were from the elite class, starting much higher than others and using a lot of school resources in the past month. Now, the spotlight was on a student from an ordinary class, which felt like a hard slap in the face.

However, to be fair, counter-invading the invaders' dimension was something they had never considered. The invaders' home bases had greater numbers, and invading would mean facing suppression from the other dimension, weakening their strength.

Meanwhile, Xu Luo was focusing on his invasion.

For him, invading other dimensions was a first, but he was no stranger to invading divine realms.

Under his command, over 14,000 Zerg entered the lower dimension.

Before him was a vast forest with tree holes visible everywhere.

Goblins, being cave-dwellers, commonly lived in tree holes.

Xu Luo didn't know how large this dimension was; all he saw was an endless forest.

The most powerful creatures in a lower dimension would not exceed Bronze tier, which was why Xu Luo dared to invade.

No matter how strong they were, they would be at most Bronze tier-nine. He had nothing to fear.

Moreover, even if all his creatures died, he would lose nothing and gain valuable invasion experience.

"System, scan the creatures in this dimension!" Xu Luo commanded, using a new function he had discovered in the Overlord system.

 [Ding! Beginning analysis!]

[The current dimension contains the following species: Goblins, Two-Headed Ogres, Pigeons, ...]

[Goblins: 12,333 in total, including one tribe chieftain, multiple mages, and warriors...]

[Two-Headed Ogres: 1,231 in total, including one tribe chieftain, multiple ogre mages, and warriors...]

 [Pigeons: ...]

...

The system provided detailed information about the species, including their numbers and locations.

Xu Luo was surprised to learn about the Two-Headed Ogres, a species that could start at Bronze tier-nine. Anyone starting with such a species would be considered a prodigy.

Two-Headed Ogre mages, with their dual-casting ability, were formidable. Although they were few in number, Xu Luo decided not to provoke them. It was better to deal with the goblins first.

Zerg could burrow and dig, so goblins hiding underground posed no problem.

At that moment, the goblins were unprepared, waiting for their warriors to return. The sudden attack turned into a massacre.

The goblin tribe had warriors and mages, but the mages were too fragile and were killed instantly.

Without their numerical advantage, goblins were not much stronger than the Zerg. Facing the ferocious Mantis Bugs and Beetles, they had no resistance.

Seeing his people being slaughtered, the goblin chieftain finally took action.

The chieftain, standing over two meters tall, was a giant among the 1.2-meter goblins, wielding a massive spiked club.

In the underground world, the Zerg quickly dealt with the surrounding goblins and formed a formation to attack the chieftain.

Despite the goblins' large numbers, they didn't all live together. Many young adults were out working or foraging.

The remaining thousand elite warriors had already been dealt with.

Most of the rest were old, weak, or infirm, with few able to fight. The initial surprise attack had eliminated most of the viable resistance.

Now, the goblin chieftain was fighting alone.

 Goblin Chieftain (Leader): Bronze tier-nine

- Talent  : Leader's Aura, Command All

- Skills  : Mighty Hammer Strike, Quick Slam, Summon Guards

Xu Luo briefly reviewed the chieftain's abilities and realized that leader templates were much stronger than ordinary and elite ones.

Compared to this, the Zerg queen at Bronze tier-nine was much weaker. Her only notable ability was laying eggs.

Leader's Aura made the chieftain easily accepted by goblins, attracting strays to join.

Command All made his commands more easily accepted.

If not trapped in this lower dimension, he might have gathered millions of goblins to form his kingdom and become a goblin emperor.

Despite the talents' strength, they had no combat application.

The three skills were straightforward: Mighty Hammer Strike for powerful blows, Quick Slam for rapid over-the-shoulder throws, and Summon Guards to call nearby goblin warriors for protection.

However, most goblin warriors were dead, rendering the summoning skill useless.

With the Beetles in front and Mantis Bugs attacking from the sides, the goblin chieftain could deal heavy damage with each strike, but the Mantis Bugs' attacks hit him simultaneously.

Even a strong individual faltered when faced with numerous attackers.

Despite being a leader template, his tier was the same as the Zerg's, and the sheer number of Zerg wore him down. Soon, the goblin chieftain fell, covered in wounds.

Seeing the leader-level creature fall to the swarm, the spectators outside were stunned.

The goblin tribe had been crushed with no effective resistance in the surprise attack.

After defeating the goblin tribe, Xu Luo directed his Zerg towards the Two-Headed Ogres.

He wanted to test this species' capabilities.

Encountering different species during invasions was beneficial for him, preparing him for future encounters and strategies.
